X by Trollbeads Christmas 2013 Preview

X by Trollbeads is still in it’s infancy and though it’s experienced teething problems, it remains my favourite of the new autumn concepts. This X by Trollbeads blog article offers a preview of the upcoming X by Trollbeads Christmas 2013 collection.

X by Trollbeads debuted back in September with a wonderful launch party in Copenhagen. Bloggers from across Europe were in attendance and guests were treated to the opportunity to handle the product, speak with designers and take home their own bracelet. It would be a lie to say X has experienced the smoothest launch. The first batch of rubber links suffered peeling problems, though I admit this still doesn’t bother me in the slightest.

An interesting rumour has been circulating recently suggesting that X by Trollbeads is to be withdrawn from the US market. I’ll admit I found the notion quite ludicrous but did ask Trollbeads for confirmation on this. Naturally it’s false.

At the launch party it was unveiled that an X by Trollbeads Christmas 2013 collection was on the horizon. While there were no sneak peeks of the new links, it was still interesting to here confirmation that seasonal releases for X would be witnessed. I’ll admit the idea concerned me a tad. For me X by Trollbeads is a bracelet aimed at a younger more fashion conscious market than the original Trollbeads charm bracelet. I wasn’t sure how traditional Christmas icons would work on this bracelet.

What follows is a preview of the new links.

X by Trollbeads Christmas 2013

The X by Trollbeads Christmas 2013 collection is a small release consisting of just three new products. This is an enormous relief to me considering the infancy of the brand. I was concerned that a flood of new products may have been too overwhelming. Indeed it features just two decorative silver links and a silver lock.

The new X by Trollbeads Honey Cubs link is super cute and somewhat reminiscent of the Hugging Bear. While I admit I tend to shy away from more cute designs, the teddy bear has become a somewhat classic motif of the festive season. It’s set to retail at $82 or €75 making it a substantial link. While I’ve traditionally shunned teddy bear designs, I’m quite taken with the detailing on this link (which also reminds me of playful panda cubs.)

The X by Trollbeads XOXO link is a fantastic complement to the existing Love link and would make a thoughtful gift for Christmas. Attention to detail is shown as small heart shaped designs are hidden in the forks of the letter X. It has a recommended retail price of $56 or €51.

Finally the new X by Trollbeads Heart Within Lock embraces the popular Heart Within design already seen in both double and single links. I suspect this will have enormous appeal beyond Christmas and towards Valentines Day as it offers the perfect finishing touch to a romantically themed bracelet. It will retail at $69 or €62.

X by Trollbeads Christmas 2013 Pre-Orders

Much like the Trollbeads Christmas 2013 collection, retailers appear permitted to offer pre-orders on these new links. I’ll be adding further links for my recommended retailers as and when they list their stock:-

X by Trollbeads Christmas 2013 Summary

The X by Trollbeads Christmas 2013 collection will debut on Wednesday November the 13th and I’m somewhat pleased to see that they haven’t opted for overtly festive designs. While these new links feel subtly apt for the festive season, they’ll offer versatility beyond. For such a new line, I feel this is important as most fans are just beginning their collection and while links aren’t expensive, it feels a shame to purchase one with limited wear.

With Christmas being a time to spend with friends and family, both the XOXO link and the Heart Within Lock embrace the festive sentiment. Meanwhile Honey Cubs brings a touch of the cute and cuddly but hopefully while maintain an impressive degree of texture.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the X by Trollbeads Christmas 2013 collection? Are you coveting any of these new pieces for your bracelet? Have you indulged in X by Trollbeads yet or is it perhaps on your Christmas wishlist? Hit the comments and let me know!

Love X, have added bronze links which are a warm shade, a change from the silver. However – choice – what choice? I hope they will introduce them soon, just one or two would be acceptable, feel bronze has been left out in the cold. Have no peeling, no problems and I wear mine most days, since launch. Very lazy, wear it while doing chores including washing up!! Young? I am 70 should I not be a fan? !! I am a fanatic Trollie preferring to keep my combos with the odd jig, have 17 blets and 2 bangles, these two I do alter quite often. Love all your info and pointers, that is how I purchased the Daydream bead and tassel !

      Hi Kay,

The bronze definitely adds a different element I think. I have no idea whether or not there will be bronze decorative links in the future. I suppose it depends if they can show the detailing or not. Usually oxidisation is used to show silver details and I’ve no idea if or how that would work with the bronze.

My links are apparently peeling a little as some ladies spotted in my pictures. But it’s just so tiny that it really doesn’t bother me I admit 🙂

The Daydream beads are super pretty, I’m sure you’ll love them when they arrive 😉

      Kind Regards

Love the XOXO and the Heart Within Lock! I love the detail in the Honey Bears but they’re too cute for my taste, but I’m not a fan of the other animal links either. I don’t have any of the X line yet, but its right up on the top of my Christmas list!

Love the photo and the X bracelet with the leather TB bracelet, which brings to mind a question. I don’t wear my leather bracelet that much because it’s too long. I’ve tried twisting it, but it won’t stay twisted and just becomes annoying to have on. Do you think I could cut off some of the length from the end with the holes without compromising the bracelet? I love the leather and really want to wear it.

    Thanks for your opinion!

Cheryl already replied but yes, you can snip the leather bracelets – and I do!

The only issue is that you’ll ultimately run out of holes depending on the size you bought or how much the bracelet stretches. You can puncture new holes of course. I’ve never had issues with this because I have a leather punch used for horsey bits and pieces but that’s the only real issue.

      Snip away my dear!

I’m also loving the XOXO link. The more I see it, the more excited I become. The bears are cute and I don’t generally do cute but the detailing appeals to me with these and I like the way they’re kind of clinging on for dear life.

Oh I so hope someone treats you to a bracelet for Christmas. It’s such a fun line 😉

      Kind Regards
      Victoria

Cindy, I have cut the extra leather length, leaving just one hole on all of my leather bracelets with no problem.

Victoria, I hardly ever type, but I always read and enjoy your posts!

      Thank you Cheryl 🙂

It’s always so lovely to hear that people enjoy my blog 😀

OMG the ___in’ teddy bears are back! What is this silly obsession they have? OTOH, they must sell them to somebody if they keep making them…

Like the XOXO link. The heart detail is fun and clever but does it need to be so wonky? Are all the double links like that? Is that first X going to be sticking out from the curve of the bracelet? Not sure what I think of that. Again, a concern quickly relieved had I an opportunity to see it but one that prevents me from considering a purchase since I can’t.

    • endangeredtrolls

Hahaha. In fairness given there was no teddy bears in the Trollbeads release, I suppose we were overdue one in the X release 😉 As you said, they clearly sell!

The double links aren’t all like this. I believe this might be the first (but I could be wrong – I obviously don’t have them all.) I don’t think it should stick out. Even my largest links aren’t so long that they interfere with how the bracelet lays on the wrist but I’ll be getting these and I’ll take lots of pictures so you can see 🙂

I really am liking the XOXO link. I think I’m going to have a lot of fun with that 🙂

      /hugs
