True Beadz Olive Review

This True Beadz blog brings a dedicated review of the upcoming True Beadz Olive, part of the autumn 2017 collection.

November the 7th sees the global launch of the True Beadz Fall 2017 collection. I already shared my own live images (link above) to coincide with the start of pre-orders but today I want to showcase the new True Beadz Olive.

Olive is part of the True Wood line and it’s worth stressing the quality of the brand’s wooden beads. These are created for True Beadz by Custom Woodworks Moscow who some readers should be familiar with thanks to his amazing jewellery boxes. It’s retailing at $40 and if you’re looking for a truly iconic bead for the fall season, this could be it.

True Beadz Olive

Olive is the palest of the True Wood designs to date but the appeal to me lies in the contrast with the grain. It’s absolutely beautiful and far more eye catching than the earlier beads. There’s also none of the lacquer so often associated with wooden beads. Or rather if it is varnished, it’s been applied with a very subtle hand.

Over the last week there’s been a lot of coverage of Christmas beads thanks to the Trollbeads Christmas 2017 pre-orders. I know there’s a portion of you groaning and trying to enjoy autumn. This is always a problem with the fall season. Due to the way retail works, Christmas as a period begins very early and the fall season gets squished into just a few weeks. For those of you seeking perfect beads for autumn, Olive and Desert are ideal choices. It’s not just their neutral colours but the textures are so organic.

For this bracelet I wanted to make something truly autumnal. I’ve combined multiple Olives with a selection of the Trollbeads Marble Dot. Marble Dot has subtle gold sparkle details and I wanted to expand on this a little, hence the fact the Trollbeads Celestial is the focal piece. The warm tones of gold are also so beautiful for fall. The silver beads used on this bracelet are the new 2017 design, Bridge and the Redbalifrog Log Stoppers. There’s a bead index at the end of the article if you’re unsure of any specific design.

True Beadz Olive Summary

This is such a lovely bead and it coordinates well with the new Desert glass. The texture provided by wood is so wholly different to glass and it brings a different vibe to a bracelet.

I want that entire bracelet!!! The True Wood beads are just beautiful and I will be adding Olive to my collection. And it is my dream to have one of the incredible jewelry boxes made by Custom Woodworks Moscow.

      Those jewellery boxes :O :O

The problem is I’d need a *really* big one :O But I’d love love love one for my desk ๐Ÿ˜€

I’m so pleased you like the bracelet because I rather love this combination myself.

Hi, Victoria! Is Truebeadz “Olive” made from the wood of an actual olive tree? I feel that it is, but just wanted to confirm. All the best,

    • Julia

      yes, real olive wood =)

    • endangeredtrolls

Julia beat me too it and is far more knowledgeable anyway ๐Ÿ™‚

Love this bead and can’t wait until mine arrives. I think that the wood adds such a warmth to my bracelets. The grains in the beads you have shown here are amazing. Thanks for the preview!

    • endangeredtrolls

It’s a really lovely addition to the True Wood line I think and as you said, it brings a completely different look to a bracelet compared with glass ๐Ÿ™‚

      Roll on release day ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • endangeredtrolls

This bracelet is inspired, Victoria! I love everything about it. I have a couple of the Rosewood beads, and they are well loved. They are much subtle than the Olive. The Olive makes much more of a statement, and, oh my, do I love that grain. I also have to take a closer look at Marble Dot. They’re much more interesting than I initially thought. And, then, there’s that Celestial…

    • endangeredtrolls

There are live images of Marble Dot on the party section of GLB’s website so do let me know of course if you need any help <3

Celestial.. I've always tried to ignore Trollbeads' gold because it's not cheap. I've wanted the gold Wishing Star since that launched a couple of years ago. It's always stars and moons that get me. I saw this at Bead Bash and couldn't leave it alone ๐Ÿ˜€ It's my first gold Trollbead and I have an ominous feeling it will start a slippery slope. It's SO beautiful.
