True Beadz June 2017 Collection Teaser and Details

This True Beadz blog brings the first information and a few teasers for the upcoming True Beadz June 2017 collection. Here be dragons!

Those of you who follow me on social media (Facebook and Instagram,) particularly during the Spring Bead Break weekend may have spotted some new True Beadz designs on my wrist. Incidentally if you want to see more of these beads over the next couple of days, it’s worth following my social media pages. I’d advise following the Great Lakes Boutique Instagram account too.

Today I’m sharing the earliest details regarding the upcoming collection. There’s a couple of live image teasers included but do be aware this isn’t a complete preview.

True Beadz June 2017

The new release is scheduled for June the 15th and it’s all about dragons! The silver barrel I’ve been wearing is the new True Beadz Dragon Shadow. It has the same vibe as the Russian Lullaby and St Patrick’s Day silvers, so there’s a lot of texture and lovely, antiqued looking contrast between the raised details and the oxidised base.

Moving onto the glass, my regular readers may remember Julia mentioning there would be more grey shades in the future. The new True Beadz Shadow glass is a soft grey (think of hints of colour like the Blue Mist (now retired) or Linen shades,) and it’s lovely! You’ll find the Blossom, Air and Touch designs below.

True Beadz June 2017 Summary

I adore grey and I’ve been complaining for years that it is such an underrepresented colour among the charm bracelet brands. It’s incredibly versatile and can be used to underpin so many other colours. Teaming with pinks makes for feminine creations. Pairing with blacks can be almost gothic. Since I’ve been home I’ve been wearing the new True Beadz Shadow with Linen and Blue Mist, all of which look incredibly elegant together. This is absolutely a shade I’m going to be indulging in multiples of.

Incidentally Great Lakes Boutique have now updated the True Beadz counts on their website. This includes stocks of those recently retired beads.

For now it’s unknown as to how many silver beads will ultimately launch in this collection so a full preview (and pricing) will follow at a later date. Pre-orders usually begin two weeks before the launch, so expect those around June the 1st.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on these first teasers for the upcoming True Beadz June 2017 collection? Hit the comments and let me know!

I’m in!!! There will definitely be a pre-order from me. I ordered the True Touch Blue Mist during Spring Break, so I know I want the True Touch Shadow. While I love all of Julia’s work, the True Touch beads are my favorites. I want them all. And I have been obsessing over that silver since I saw it on your Instagram. I cannot wait!

    • endangeredtrolls

Glad you like it 😉 The new Shadow glass is lovely. It’s subtle but so beautiful and I think it’s going to be one of the most wearable shades Julia has made to date. She has such an incredible eye for colour though.

I think a lot of people are fans of the True Touch glass. It’s simplicity allows the colour to be the focus and I love that! No fuss… just beautiful colours.

thank you so much, Gene! I am a huge fan of grey =) I know that some men do not see any difference between Siberia / Linen / Shadow / Blue Mist ….on some photos they may really look very close, especially when photo filters were applied, but I am so crazy about all the shade / temperature differences of these colours! I am happy to know that I am not alone=)

      • endangeredtrolls

Much easier to see when you get them outside in the daylight! It can be really hard to capture them under artificial light I know. But there *is* a difference 😀 Hopefully the social media pictures are showing it 😉

        xoxo

        • Julia

i LOVE your photos with 3 bangles! it really shows the 3 different colours!
True Beadz like to be outside. Especially when the weather is good=)

          • Gene

I just looked at the photo with the three bangles. I love how they look together. I think the difference is subtle, but quite clear. I have Siberia, Blue Mist is on the way. All I need is Shadow and Linen…and a lot more bracelets!

          • endangeredtrolls

There’s never enough bracelets. Or in my case bangles 😀 The difference is there. It’s easier to see in natural light than under artificial but it’s very much there 😀

            xoxo

  2. Samantha Cardimon

I’m in, too! Can you imagine the greys with black pearls? These beads are begging to be used on Game of Thrones bracelets. Looks like more beauties are on the way!

    • endangeredtrolls

The colour looks amazing with so many different shades. I’ve been having a lot of fun playing with these already. With blacks they look quite gothic. With pinks they can be so feminine. It’s such a versatile colour and that’s precisely why I’ve said I know I’m going to be needing multiples of these 😀

      xoxo

    • Julia

      thank you, Samantha! <3

  3. Elise

I have been coveting that silver one since the pics appeared on IG. Shadow blossom and touch will be entirely necessary, too! Soooooo beautiful!

    • endangeredtrolls

I’m so pleased you like it 😀 There are some pictures on Great Lakes’ Instagram showing the size comparison with some of the other True Beadz silvers too 😀 It’s going to be such an exciting release! 😀

      xoxo

      • Elise

Oooooh, now that I see the comparison on the silver one, I love it even more!….Awesome photo – thank you!

    • Julia

      <3
for so many years was surrounded by people who found grey "boring"! you can not imagine how happy I am to know there are ladies all over the world who share my love to this amazing colour!

      • endangeredtrolls

        :O :O :O

        Boring?!

        • Julia

          can you imagine?!!!!

          • endangeredtrolls

Clearly they have no taste 😉

            xoxo

  4. Gene

Thank you for showing the size comparison with the other silver beads, Victoria. That is very helpful as I sometimes find it difficult to tell when a bead is alone. This piece is going to go so beautifully with the True Beadz I have so far.

    • endangeredtrolls

You are most welcome and I think many (most?) of us struggle to envision size from stock images alone 🙂

It’s a good size piece though and it feels weighty in hand.

      xoxo

  5. Elizabeth

I love the new color! Shadow is a great name too! It is such a subtle color that will blend so nicely with the colors currently in my collection. I agree that Dragon shadow will fit right in with the silver from the past 2 releases. I am hoping for another sneak peak or hints about the rest of the release! It seems it will be another great one!

    • endangeredtrolls

It is subtle and so pretty 🙂 Unfortunately now you know absolutely as much as I do so we’re going to have to wait a little longer to find out more information 😀

      xoxo

  6. Gene

I’m sorry to go on and on but I keep thinking of more things to say about this Dragon Shadow bead. I want to do a True Beadz Medieval bracelet using my new True Tower, but I wasn’t sure what other silvers I would use…and here we are! How much more perfect could it get than this?!

    • endangeredtrolls

Oh absolutely! What Arthurian legend would be complete without a dragon? 😉 (And a little bit of magic ;))

      xoxo

  7. Liz

Love the colour, will definitely be getting it on touch. I ordered 4 touch beads from GLB, blue mist, Linen, sky blue and castle stone. It’s going to go well with all of them 😊
Looking forward to the release 😀

    • endangeredtrolls

Great Lakes Blue Mist stash has gone SO quickly! 😛 I was checking earlier and yeah… 😉 So nice catch on getting that before it vanishes 😉

      xoxo

    • Julia

Liz, you just named all the colours I love and can wear every day! <3

  8. Katie

Absolutely lovely. I can’t wait to see more. What a wonderful color. Will it come in Taste, also? Funny that when I look back, it was the first Taste beads that pushed me from admiring from afar to purchasing and loving my True Beadz. Maybe I don’t need to eat….

    • endangeredtrolls

Yes it’s definitely being made in the Taste design 🙂 I can understand anyone loving the Taste beads 😀 The texture is amazing 😀

      xoxo

      • Katie

        Yeah!! Wonderful news!! Thank you!

    • Julia

Katie, there will be a Taste Shadow and the dangle too! thank you <3

      • endangeredtrolls

        Yay! 😀

      • Katie

Julia, thank you!! Really looking forward to the release!

        • Julia

  9. SarahWW

Oh. My. Another gorgeous release from Julia and Alexey. I saw the Dragon Shadow bead at the Spring Bead Break, fell immediately in love, and knew it would be accompanied by some very special glass beads. Of course, Julia never disappoints on that front. I am another big fan of grey in all its versatile shades. Now, if I can just go find that money tree…

    • endangeredtrolls

Grey grey grey 😀 These would look beautiful with some of your blues too 😉

      xoxo

    • Julia

      thank you, Sarah! HUGS

  10. Gene

You know; Victoria, I will admit that I didn’t really think of grey as a bead color I would want. Not to say that I don’t like it, it just didn’t even occur to me. Probably because you don’t see that many grey beads. Then Julia did grey and it has become a must have color for me. But to be honest, Julia probably couldn’t do a bad color if she tried!

    • endangeredtrolls

There’s not a lot of grey glass out there. It’s something I (and many other people) have been requesting for years but those pleas seem to have mostly fallen on deaf ears. Trollbeads have gemstones in grey tones and they’ve had a couple of glass that have ventured into the colour but not much 🙁

Yet it’s so useful! I remember when I first started collecting.. my local retailer at the time told me to focus on building one set of neutral coloured glass beads. She explained that once I had those, it was really easy to change the look with just one or two coloured beads. That’s always stuck in my head and grey works with nearly everything 😀

      xoxo

    • Julia

hahaha even knowing how much I like challenges, I am not accepting this one =)))))))

  11. Elizabeth (Lizzie)

I’m liking that Dragon Shadow design, yes. I don’t have any beads that shape, though, and the one or two longer beads that I do have don’t appeal to me in terms of proportion … I mean, I love them, but I don’t like the way they break up the flow of my bracelet or necklace. OTOH they do nicely on their own, and probably when balanced with other long beads. Beautiful design.
