True Beadz Hygge (Friendly Smiles) Inspiration

This True Beadz blog brings a little inspiration for the limited edition and exclusive True Beadz Hygge, event bead for the Great Lakes Boutique Spring Bead Break.

The True Beadz Hygge (officially called Friendly Smiles,) was the event bead for the Great Lakes Boutique Spring Bead Break. There were just two hundred pieces available and in a couple of hours the latest post event online party is going to see a few more of these beads offered to online customers.

It's an orange bead with gold flake inclusions and there's been quite a lot of variation in this design (which I'll come to shortly.)

I've had a few readers contact me requesting inspiration on how to use this bead. They love it but find it quite autumnal feeling in it's design. Ahead of the online party, I've thrown together a summery feeling bracelet to showcase Hygge. The bead retails at $40 and uses a universal core making it compatible with Ohm Beads and Pandora charm bracelets.

Some of these beads have shown a lot of variation. Indeed one lovely lady received the most amazing example with a band of cream running through it (and I sincerely hope she doesn't mind me sharing this image, as it's a spectacular bead.) Please do remember not to share it.

It's actually this bead that inspired the bracelet I'm showcasing today. It is easy to look at the Hygge bead and think of autumn and it's going to be amazing for Halloween themed bracelets. My own beads are very orange and make great complements to the True Beadz Pumpkin shade (though one does have a subtle band of yellow.)

For this bracelet I wanted to combine it with creamier shades but no matter how many times I tried a full bracelet, I couldn't quite get the colours right. Instead I created a mini-bracelet. I've split it into sections using various Ohm Beads locks. Those of you who follow me on social media (Facebook, Instagram and the Great Lakes Instagram page,) will know I've been using these a lot recently. You can also check out further ideas and information on them at the Ohm Beads USA blog. For reference both the Ohm Beads stoppers (which all end in -ish) and the Ohm Beads locks (with names ending in -ness,) work perfectly well with the Trollbeads bracelets. For full compatibility details, please check my overview of the Ohm Beads Elements collection.

I've used the Trollbeads Feldspar Moonstone again (I'm sorry to those of you who dislike this stone as I'm wearing it a lot at the moment) and a couple of pearl accented designs. Do remember Great Lakes have live images of their Feldspar Moonstones listed right here. If I'd had more of the moonstones I could have managed a full bracelet but it's a very difficult colour to find in glass. This is the end result and as always there's a bead index at the end of the article if you're unsure of the specific name of any bead.

True Beadz Hygge Ordering Details

For those of you wanting the Hygge bead (or wanting extras,) the party at Great Lakes begins at 3pm EST (9pm for my European readers.) I do have an alert scheduled for thirty minutes before and below you'll find a direct link to where the beads will be:-

True Beadz Hygge Summary

I do think this bead is going to be amazing in the fall season. The colour feels so apt for the autumn and those gold inclusions are reminiscent of the perfect afternoon light that I've always adored of the season. (Hurry up autumn!) It can work for the summer season and if you like bold combinations it can look beautiful with cherry red shades (which I might try and experiment with in the future.)

On a side note, I'll be adding all of the Ohm Beads locks and stoppers to my database over the next few hours (along with a few of their newer designs that are missing.) Remember you can read all about how to use it here.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the True Beadz Hygge? Did you indulge in this bead or are you hoping to grab one tonight? How have you been styling yours? Hit the comments and let me know!

I hope I can get one today, as I missed it previously. The Friendly Smiles/Hygge with the cream color going through it is beautiful! I love how you designed your bracelet with the pearls and the locks dividing the bracelet in different sections. I’ll have to add the Ohm locks and safety chains to my wishlist on the Database (which is so handy, by the way). I am now a little obsessed with how you’re using them on your bracelets/bangles.

Yes I would have loved one with that cream colouring too 😀 She must have been very lucky as I photographed some of the ones in store and none had that look! 😀

The locks are now in the database 🙂 And there’s links to each of them from the bead index 🙂

I’m definitely loving the locks at the moment and stoppers! 😀 Can’t get enough for either 😀

I’ve decided that once I have replenished the funding I am going to do an order just focusing on locks, stoppers and safety chains.

        • endangeredtrolls

They’re a lot of fun 😀 Do you have a favourite? Mine is Metalness 😀

          xoxo

          • Gene

Definitely Metalness with Fireness a very close second!

          • endangeredtrolls

I really love Waterness too but Metalness is just a little bit edgier for me 😀

I should be getting my two Hygges in the mail today. I am so thrilled to have been able to get them. I like how they look with the creamy shades of pearl and moonstone, and I think what you did with the beads and locks is terrific. I think my favorite lock is waterness, but fireness is right behind it. I’ll be one of those who will be putting Hygge with bright colors. I can’t wait to see how it looks with turquoise and aqua, and I’m planning on trying it out with TB Deep Ocean, as mine has a lot of orange in it. I’ll also be putting it with cherry red; I like all those hot colors in summertime!

    • endangeredtrolls

I so hope these arrived yesterday as you thought they would! Orange and teals or aquas is such a sensational colour combination and the colour of the Hygge beads could be brilliantly representative of coral with your Trollbeads Deep Ocean I think.

Let me know if you had chance to try and play with them yet 😀

      xoxo
