Trollbeads World Tour Relaunch – One Last Trip Around the Globe

This Trollbeads blog alerts readers to a relaunch of the Trollbeads World Tour collection before the series retires for good.

Back in 2010 Trollbeads launched a new series of beads. There was a lot of celebration surrounding this, with a launch party held in Copenhagen. Attendees to the party were able to purchase a limited edition Trollbeads Amethyst Fantasy Necklace (which differs from the collection version) and we’re treated to the unveiling of the Trollbeads World Tour.

The concept was very simple. Approximately once a month (though there were a couple of breaks,) a set of four new limited edition designs celebrating a particular country were released. The beads were exclusive to the market they represented. At the close of the World Tour, retailers were permitted to order all of the beads and sporadically since then there have been periods of time where they could do the same.

The Trollbeads World Tour ultimately visited Denmark, the USA, the UK, Austria, Australia, South Africa, Holland, Japan, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Italy, Germany and the Baltic States. Each country received four beads, some all silver, some with glass and even amber was represented. For those wondering why certain culture rich countries were excluded, it ultimately also depended on where they had distributors.

Beginning today (June the 15th,) the Trollbeads World Tour is back at all retailers globally but only for a short period. On August the 1st, the World Tour beads retire permanently.

Trollbeads have done a beautiful job at producing tip sheets for this release so here’s an overview of the entire series.

Trollbeads World Tour Ordering Details

Retailers globally have been able to place orders for the World Tour beads though whether they choose to or not is upto them. Below you’ll find a list of my retail partners:-

Trollbeads World Tour Summary

I loved the Trollbeads World Tour from it’s very beginning. I’d always hoped they would revisit it and they do in a way via the City Beads Collection beads which came a few years ago. I have nearly the entire World Tour collection and some, such as the Pocket Watch, Wiener Melange or of course Blooming Sakura, are amongst my all time favourite designs.

This is your chance to make those final wishlists and re-order. Do remember that retailers in the USA are still offering the free Cerulean Jewellery Case on spends of $150 or more. That offer ends as we head into July so it could also be a good opportunity to take advantage there.

Over the course of the next week, I’ll be revisiting some of my favourite World Tour sets so be sure to check back for that.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the Trollbeads World Tour? Will you be taking the opportunity to grab a few last designs and did you have a clear favourite? Hit the comments and let me know!

  1. Marisa

This is such good news, but oh boy has it been an expensive month ๐Ÿ˜… Do you plenty of stock or a few of each bead?

    • endangeredtrolls

Well we can order unlimited until July the 31st. After then they retire. So right now we’re good ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Kim

I loved the World Tour beads when they first came out and had a lot of fun following the series. Do you remember that each country did a short video introducing their beads? Those were really fun. I’ll have to take stock and determine what I missed out on for sure. And I may want to grab multiples of Blooming Sakura, since I think I only have one now.

    • endangeredtrolls

Blooming Sakura is the one everyone is going crazy for as usual – and understandably since it’s always been soo beautiful.

The World Tour was just beautifully executed in my opinion. I really enjoyed the whole series ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Judy

I have always loved the world tour beads. I actually had to order all that I have twice since my first group was stolen in a home robbery. My absolute favorite is the African lion. So incredible. Also loved the German frog. I dot have all but at least one from each country.

    • endangeredtrolls

Oh that’s horrible! ๐Ÿ™ I suppose at least you were able to replace them but still ๐Ÿ™

I love the lion. I use it on my Harry Potter bracelets ๐Ÿ˜‰

I don’t quite have them all either but I’m lucky to have quite a lot of them ๐Ÿ˜€

  4. Katie

I indulged the summer that these originally came out, so I’m relieved that there is a release that won’t be too expensive for me. I loved these as they were coming out and I use many of the beads frequently. My only disappointment was that they stopped the series. I hoped that they would have some for France, Ireland, Egypt, India, Korea, and many other countries.

    • endangeredtrolls

The thing is, they don’t have distributors in those countries. The World Tour beads were exclusive to their representative countries. If there’s no distributor, then there’s no one to handle getting those beads out to the retailers there, (assuming there are retailers there.)

Ireland was part of the UK though. It got squashed in there with Scotland and Wales ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Katie

Interesting. Thank you for the information. That makes sense.

  5. Liz

So happy to hear this, I only ever got 1 skyline & 2 Blooming Sakura.
This last week I ordered a skyline & a Blooming Sakura, when the live images that GLB put up.
I managed to order another 2 skylines from the UK.
This means I can finally get the frog prince. I would love the pocket watch but itโ€™s a bit out of my price range.
I think my favourite out of the all is the Skyline, itโ€™s probably my favourite troll glass ๐Ÿ˜Š

    • endangeredtrolls

Blooming Sakura has always been the most popular I think.

Just to clarify though, if retailers are showing as being sold out, it’s only temporary. Trollbeads are actively remaking these beads until July the 1st. They then retire officially on August the 1st ๐Ÿ™‚

    • endangeredtrolls

Oh that’s not TOO bad! Though still quite expensive to do before July the 31st :O

  7. Lola

Awesome to see these. I ordered the Sakura from three places yesterday (wanting to share the cash and not be a hog at any one place) and today they’re all sold out. ๐Ÿ™‚ Popular little bead. Sakura, Runes, and Iron Wolf are the only beads that are must-have for me. The Italy beads have always been a huge disappointment to me. Spaghetti? Caprese? Bad pasta and worse salad. Romulus and Remus has some effort, at least, but it’s such an awkward looking bead. Italy’s flowers are Rose and Lily; that could have been a nice bead.

    • endangeredtrolls

I’m sorry to hear that you didn’t like the Italian collection. I guess they were never going to make everyone happy with this release though. I remember at the time there being lots of discussion as to why certain designs were used and other – what people viewed as more iconic options – ignored ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Lori

This is great news! I just ordered the whole set of Japanese tour beads with an extra Sakura bead plus the Australian glass bead and a Baltic amber. Ohh ๐Ÿ˜ฎ I am spending too much, but these are beads I always wanted, I would so regret it if I didnโ€™t get them.

    • endangeredtrolls

Yeah.. I don’t see stock lasting long once the retirement of August the 1st actually arrives. The Blooming Sakura is just such a classic amongst collectors I think ๐Ÿ™‚ I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone say they dislike it ๐Ÿ˜€

    • pinky

Lori, you did the right thing, Japan bracelet is my favorite, I had the whole bracelet except the white with red dot years ago. I had three Sakura Beads. Those silver designs are beautiful (to my personal taste). With the WT relauch, I ordered the Baltic amber, and I am debating whether should I order the balance white bead or not. Most probably I will to ahead.

  9. Muriel

I really love this collection!! Can not deside which of them to order. I wanted to buy only the ones corresponding to places I have visited, but really love the Hong Kong and Japan beads the most. I think I can start planing my trip there while getting the beads :p. Anyway, did any one pair the skyline with wishful sky? I wonder how they look together.

  10. Pinky

Hi Victoria, I love world tour design so much. One of my favorite is Japan. The one I haven’t had to complete my set is the Japan bead that the white one with red dot. I haven’t had chance see it in person. Can you tell me how many red dot on that bead. Is it only one red dot? or anyone on this forum can tell me. Thanks for your help.

    • Ella

Hi Pinky I seem to recall that it only has one red dot on the bead (I don’t own it but did handle one once in a shop- hope that helps ๐Ÿ™‚

      • pinky

Thanks Ella. It’s definitely a great help.

    • endangeredtrolls

As Ella said it’s just a single red dot – it’s the Japanese flag so it needs to be just one ๐Ÿ™‚
