Trollbeads Wings of Amber & Ohm Beads Bee Ohm Inspiration

This Trollbeads blog brings a little inspiration starring the Trollbeads Wings of Amber with the lovely Ohm Beads Bee Ohm collection.

We’ve now hit the high summer season which is notoriously quiet in bead world. The Trollbeads Fall 2018 collection doesn’t launch until September and we only just saw a Redbalifrog release. Fortunately Ohm tend to be summer saviours as they do release all year round. Indeed the previews for the remainder of their August collection should be soon.

It does however give collectors a chance to work on their wishlists and products that might have been lingering there for a while. It’s also worth remembering that Ohm have already confirmed nearly every design pre-2018 will retire in November.

Following the release of the Trollbeads Wings of Amber I did mention that I wanted to revisit the bead. Actually I’ll be sharing a few different bracelets featuring this bead over the next week or so. There’ll also be a lot of focus on the Ohm Beads Bee Collection (which I’m guessing will be part of the November retirement.) I adore amber so there’s little wonder I’ve been wearing Wings of Amber a lot since it’s launch.

I’m not much of a girly girl and summer bracelets are a nightmare for me in general. I prefer deep, sumptuous colours and they absolutely suit my skin tones more. For the blog however, I do at least like to attempt to experiment with pastels. This bracelet uses Wings of Amber with the lovely Trollbeads Feldspar Moonstone. When the latter first launched I was not convinced by it at all and yet it’s become a real favourite for me. Some of the recent batches we’ve been seeing at Great Lakes Boutique have been not only beautifully sparkly but they’ve shown a wider variation in colour, with some really dark beads being seen.

Most of the silver beads used here are from Ohm Beads. They’re predominantly the Bee Ohm designs but I’ve included a couple of the Ohm Words as a nod to the plight of the bees. I should also mention the Words are some of my other favourite designs from Ohm so if you don’t have them yet, consider that before November.

Trollbeads Wings of Amber Ordering Details

As with all amber there is huge variation to be found. Still the majority of these beads are honey ambers. Interestingly a decent percentage also seem to be cherry red amber which has become so hard to find in standard uniques over the last few months. Trollbeads Wings of Amber & Ohm Beads Bee Ohm Summary

The ambers I’ve used here are the relatively common pale honey and honey coloured. I did this deliberately to show how beautiful they really are. So many people are trying to hunt the rough green examples in particular but they’re so scarce and actually a little more difficult to style in my opinion.

The amazing thing about amber is that it looks beautiful year round with different styling. It’s stunning in the autumn as the foliage begins to turn as you have so many options for fall bracelets. In winter the paler shades such as these are stunning with whites for winter sunshine and in the spring and summer it glows. While many of us are keenly waiting news on the Trollbeads Fall 2018 collection and what colours we might be wearing, amber is a very solid investment for the upcoming season.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the Trollbeads Wings of Amber? Did you indulge in this bead and if so, how are you wearing it? Hit the comments and let me know!
