Trollbeads Trunk of Treasures Lock Review

This Trollbeads blog brings a dedicated review of the new Trollbeads Trunk of Treasures Lock, just in time for the free bracelet promotion in the USA.

Earlier today saw the start of the latest Trollbeads free bracelet promotion for the USA. It’s of course aptly timed for the launch of the Trollbeads Autumn 2017 release last week, which included two new lock designs.

With this in mind I wanted to continue my fall reviews with the Trollbeads Trunk of Treasures Lock, retailing at $56, €48 or £45.

Trollbeads Trunk of Treasures Lock

This lock is obviously based on the Trollbeads Trunk of Treasures bead (review here,) a design I have always love and use a huge amount on autumnal bracelets. It’s a very user friendly clasp as none of the detailing interferes with the actual mechanism (unlike the Best of Both Lock which is tricky to open.) It has a sculptural and minimalistic quality to the design.

For the bracelet I wanted to use very earthy and organic colours and also incorporate some of the new autumn glass. I opted to use the Trollbeads Willow Twigs, a lovely bead with a lot of variation and team it with the True Beadz True Touch Dragon Green. The silver beads all have an autumnal vibe to them and you’ll notice I’ve used the Redbalifrog Log Stoppers which I adore! There’s a bead index at the end of the article if you’re unsure of any specific design.

Trollbeads Trunk of Treasures Lock Summary

With the Trunk of Treasures design now encompassing both a bead and a lock, I’m sorely hoping that at some stage, we’ll see decorative spacers. This isn’t a huge lock in terms of it’s weight or width but actually I think in this case it makes the design more elegant.

If you like a slightly darker or moodier vibe, do consider the new Marble glass which to me looks like either a silhouette or trees or a cobweb design and either works so well with this lock.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the Trollbeads Trunk of Treasures Lock? Did you order this already or is it on your wishlist? Will you be participating in the free bracelet promotion? Hit the comments and let me know!

I love the Trunk of Treasures lock and the bead. A few nights ago when I was looking at your live shots of Willow Twigs, I wasn’t sure if they were the same bead because there was such a variation. I’ve said it before. but this is how I would like to do multiples…. where they don’t match exactly. Your bracelet is wonderful…so many things on there that I want!

I was actually surprised by the variation in Willow Twigs. Some beads you just know from the moment stock images appear that they’ll vary SO much. I hadn’t actually predicted it with this – right until I unpacked them and had them all together on my desk 😀 You then notice even more under the macro lens of course!

Trunk of Treasures took a while to grow on me, but I’m liking it. Best of Both I certainly like. Just in time for bracelet sales and holiday giving, too.

And we don’t know what Christmas will bring yet 😉 😉

I can see that i will buy like 5 of the willow twig beads. They are all so interesting and different!!

    • endangeredtrolls

They’re really lovely and there’s more variation in them than I had thought 😀

…. this review was super helpful as I am still working on my order and between this review and the one for Best of Both Worlds (or whatever it’s called), the descriptions of the mechanisms make me think I’d be happier with this one …. would have liked to compare in person but that hasn’t happened yet.

    Thanks!
