Trollbeads Superhero Preview (Trollbeads Father’s Day 2019)

This Trollbeads blog brings a preview of the upcoming Trollbeads Father’s Day 2019 design, officially named the Trollbeads Super Hero.

2018 saw Trollbeads celebrate Father’s Day for the first time, after a long history of beautiful Mother’s Day beads. They’ve been really trying to encourage the male market via a couple of more gender neutral releases and a dedicated marketing campaign. For 2019 comes the Trollbeads Super Hero. The official release date is February the 22nd and I will admit to being quite startled as to how early this is being released. It will be available globally, it is not limited and it will retail for $45.

The base of the bead is an oxidised, heavily pitted ball. The detailing comes from the raised, high shine lightning icon, so reminiscent of The Flash.

There’s a super hero in all of us. We just need the courage to put on the cape.

Trollbeads Father’s Day 2019 Summary

There’s something actually quite endearing about this design for the occasion itself. It could be a very sweet gift particularly when worn on a leather bracelet. Do remember for anyone looking for a set or styling ideas, it would team well with The Shield from last year.

I think it will snag on everything!

      Maybe!

  2. Anke

    Love iT!

I’m so pleased to hear that ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Angela

Not impressed,on top of being plain ugly agree with Janie it will snag on everything. Not sure what kind of Father/Male this was aimed at but no male I know would be caught dead wearing this.
Someone is very confused , looks like a collaboration with Trollbeads, Elfbeads and Ohm as the latter two have similar looking beads. The base piece looks feminine in fact the base piece looks like that OHM mesh bead from a couple yrs back, canโ€™t remember the name but it was available in four or so finishes?
The thing on top could look masculine if it were the actual charm and made near 1/2 inch thick but as is worn on a necklace it would surely stab the poor man and as a bracelet charm would if he moved his arm the wrong way or too fast would surely do harm.
Good thing this was released now plenty of time before June for a do over.

  4. Sharon Mccauley

I would LOVE this bead without the bolt!

  5. Kathie

Nope. Ugly. Looks clunky and would probably rotate upside down and snag on everything. Marketing to more “masculine ” is fine, but this is simply ugly……imho

  6. Naomi

Perhaps this is an April Fool’s joke?

    • Pippa

      If only….

  7. Maria

I think it’s painful to wear but maybe superhero’s don’t mind that ๐Ÿ˜

  8. Lola

I love the idea, but the presentation is off. The bolt should be smaller, sitting atop the bead, nice and snug. I’ll buy a few if Trolbeads ever reproduces it with more balance.

  9. Minnnorsk

I think it shows very little thought…they just dashed this thing off and made it. Not impressed. Hope they put more thought into a Mother’s Day bead! Yes, my first thought is that it will catch on everything.

  10. Stephanie

It looks clusmy. Not a fan. The shield bead was way better.

    • Pippa

I agree – the “lightening bolt” is a bit wonky and then attached awkwardly.

And I hadn’t even thought about the practical issues – it is definitely going to catch on things and probably flip and poke.

I still think they should halt production and return to the drawing board.

It’s pretty ugly and not balanced or proportioned right. It’s pretty terrible. It’s like 2 beads awkwardly stuck together:(

  12. Jenny

Not a fan at all and have no idea what TB are thinking anymore when it comes to designs. The bead looks childish, clumsy and quite ugly in my eyes. At first glance, I actually thought the photo was a spoiler with the bolt hiding something underneath and was gobsmacked to find out that was the actual design. The base looks like museum Spots at quick glance, the bolt looks far too large for the base and will most likely flip facing downwards and get caught on things. I would not buy it and the only reason I would is to have the base bead, the bolt would be removed. I am one of many who stopped buying Trollbeads some years back, it’s like they have lost their way in the bead world.

  13. Francine

I am a fan of Trollbeads masculine beads but for me on this one it seems that the volt is off. It looks very unbalanced. It would be interesting to hear from Troll’s men collectors what they think about this one.

  14. MaLa SaHan

I agree with all comments above, the thing is ugly, clumsy, unattractive, and a few other adjectives which I would not type into my text. Trollbeads is totally failing with this one.

  15. Andy

Iโ€˜m just laughing about this design…..:))))))))

  16. Andy

I think it looks like a multi tool….screw driver ,bottle opener, that would made sense…:)))))))))
