Trollbeads Summer 2018 Pre-Orders Begin

This Trollbeads blog alerts readers to the start of the pre-orders for the Trollbeads Summer 2018 collection.

Though the official preview of the Trollbeads Summer 2018 collection was only yesterday, it’s now midnight in the USA and pre-orders are commencing. I had quite a few queries via email regarding the previews for summer, following social media leaks back in April. Before I share the pre-order links, I just want to clarify that.

Trollbeads are altering a little the way they work with bloggers and aren’t necessarily providing images in advance any more. I believe they’re keen to gain a little more control over their own marketing, which is understandable. (As someone who has now moved more into a marketing role, it is incredibly infuriating to create beautiful plans and have them completely messed up.) The leaks back in April were unintentional and as I’ve stressed before, just because an image is circulating social media, doesn’t necessarily mean it can be used. This is particularly a problem for an actual website like mine. Copyright law isn’t quite as clear cut as many believe. Add to that my role at Great Lakes Boutique and while I was aware of the images being on Facebook, I couldn’t use them. I hope those of you who received very formal email replies from me will appreciate that.

Onwards to the more interesting things; the actual beads. The Trollbeads Summer 2018 collection revisits the ocean and the murrini glass design of 2016’s Deep Ocean. For those who missed that bead, this is a perfect substitute. For those who loved the original, it’s soon launching in a new colour and actually a shade I personally feel will be easier to style. To those who feel it’s repetitive, there’s always another bead around the corner.

Pre-orders for this collection are commencing immediately but again there has been a small change to the way these are handled. Retailers are no longer permitted to share live images or offer live image pre-orders until the release date. The release date for the Trollbeads Summer 2018 collection is next week (Friday May the 18th.)

Do remember the Trollbeads Blue Ocean is the limited edition piece. The remaining designs join the general collection

Trollbeads Summer 2018 Summary

It’s worth noting that US based retailers are still offering the Trollbeads Mother’s Day 2018 Promotion. Spends of $150 or more will qualify for a Stackable Jewellery Case in your choice of colour. For those of you happy to pre-order from stock images, it’s a pretty good opportunity to secure your beads and get a free treat too.

Looking ahead a little the next release from Trollbeads should be the Trollbeads Day 2018 bead. Trollbeads Day 2018 lands on June the 9th this year but it’s yet to be known whether there will be advanced previews. In previous years we’ve had everything from Snapchat teasers to pretty standard unveilings.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the Trollbeads Summer 2018 collection and will you be pre-ordering? Would you prefer to pre-order from live images or are you happy with the stock pictures? Hit the comments and let me know!

Ok. That’s it. I’m buying the blue ocean bead. So much for saving money.😥😥😥

I still think it’s nicer than Deep Ocean. Well not nicer I guess.. but I think it’s a better choice of colour. I remember being in awe of Deep Ocean – and I still am – but having a difficult time really styling it. I mostly ended up wearing it alone on a bracelet or as a fantasy necklace as I found the colour a little tricky.

I think Blue Ocean will be much easier to work with.

I haven’t found a problem styling it. Deep ocean has it’s own bracelet with silvers and cozy glass, that looks like sand. So that’s good. However, I just know that I will kick myself if I don’t get blue ocean and make another bracelet with the crab lock. I would even do just the bead with spacers.

Yeah… my general advice to those on the fence about Blue Ocean is to get it 🙁 I know it’s not cheap… I know it’s not totally different to Deep Ocean.. but I also know I’ll be inundated with messages from people sad that they missed it at some point. It’s such a little work of art in it’s own right that I think it becomes must have 😉

I love the Summer collection and especially the Blue Ocean and Crab Lock. I will be definitely getting the Blue Ocean bead, despite the CDN $ cost of $124.00 😳. But it is really lovely and I love my Deep Ocean bead, and I would regret it later if I didn’t get one. I think I also might break down and finally get a fantasy necklace as well. I would really like one of the pearl ones.

I know it’s expensive BUT for most people, I think one is sufficient. I never found the real burning need to have a pair of these – which is super good news 😀

I have to confess… while at Bead Bash was lusting over a gold fantasy necklace with the pearl :'( It was sooooo pretty :'(

      • Lori

Ha, ha I can only dream of a gold one, but they are pretty 😍, I would probably lust after one too if I saw one in person!

Can you tell me Victoria about the size of the crab lock – is it more like the large or the small fish lock on a bracelet? If it is like the small I will have to dig out my longest bracelet to wear the blue ocean, but if it like the large I can wear the blue ocean with one of my many regular sized bracelets, or just get the fantasy necklace?
