Trollbeads Spring 2019 Preview (Trollbeads Nature Art Collection)

This Trollbeads blog brings a complete preview of the upcoming Trollbeads Spring 2019 collection.

Traditionally Trollbeads have always released their spring collections in January. Though this is quite in advance of the spring season itself, I’ve grown to love the fact as it brings something to really anticipate in what tends to be a rather gloomy and depressing month.

Today sees the global preview of the Trollbeads Spring 2019 collection! It’s set to debut on January the 25th. It’s officially marketed as the Trollbeads Nature Art Collection.

This time around there’s plenty of time to look at the images and decide what you want. That said you can already shop the release but obviously shipping won’t commence until the launch date.

Trollbeads Spring 2019

As the name suggests this collection is about the return of both the light and life to nature. We’re now passed the winter solstice and though it takes a little time to really notice it, the days are getting longer again. Usually be the end of January is when I really begin to notice a difference in the evenings. This is a collection in which you’ll see some new and some familiar.

The collect consists of twelve new glass beads, divided into two kits. These are the Trollbeads Spirit & Hope Kit and the Trollbeads Sunrise Kit. The beads are available individually but of course if you purchase a full kit you benefit from a free bead. Each kit retails at $175 or they are $35 each.

The Trollbeads Spirit & Hope Kit is full of crisp green shades and many of you will recognise these as Jumbo Unique designs, including the oh so popular Lily and of course the Dragonfly. This kit seems to celebrate the earliest whispers of spring with those young, vibrant roots. The individual bead names (in order of their images below,) are the Trollbeads Seeds of Hope, Trollbeads Flowers of Hope, Trollbeads Green Tulips, Trollbeads Drops of Green, Trollbeads Dragonfly in Garden, Trollbeads Roots of Spirit.

The Trollbeads Sunrise Kit is absolutely sensational in my eyes. If I was to be very critical I’d say the colours are perhaps a little autumnal feeling but I think it’s more that they’ve tried to capture the earliest pale sunbeams of spring. With the inclusion of a couple of new Trollbeads Grey Moonstones (read on,) this will be my spring bracelet. I don’t remember being this excited for a kit in quite some time. The individual bead names are the Trollbeads Flowers of Grace, Trollbeads Dragonfly on Silk, Trollbeads Drops of White, Trollbeads White Tulips, the Trollbeads Flowers of Elegance and the Trollbeads Roots of Wisdom.

In addition to the glass beads comes two new gemstones an a pearl. The first of the two stones is the new Trollbeads Grey Moonstone and you can expect to see a lot of variation in this stone it seems. Those of you who share my love for neutrals should appreciate this stone. It looks somehow cozy and comforting and I am so looking forward to seeing them in person. As with most gemstones it will retail at $65.

Secondly we’re seeing the return of the Trollbeads Aventurine. This stone was in the collection before but retired and perhaps this suggests it’s retirement was more of an issue with sourcing stones than something the brand wanted to do. The Aventurine can range from quite bright greens down to some beautiful deep colours. Ironically the darker ones are often quite translucent too which also describes the current most sought after Trollbeads Emeralds; dark and clear. Again the Aventurine retails at $65.

Another familiar design making a reappearance is the Trollbeads Peacock Pearl. This has always been a favourite among the community and the great thing about this design is the range of colours offer huge appeal. You find blues, through to petrol and teal shades and to purple and almost pinks. The Peacock Pearl is retailing at $45.

In regards to decorative silver there are a total of six new bead designs, plus three spacers, two locks, a new ring, new decorative earring pieces and two style of hoop earrings too.

A central design in the collection is the new Trollbeads Savoy Knot and this is available as two beads (the Tollbeads Savoy Knot and the Trollbeads Friendship Knot both retailing at $45,) a the Trollbeads Savoy Knot Lock ($65,) the Trollbeads Savoy Knot Spacer ($45) and the Trollbeads Savoy Knot Ring ($55,) so it’s a theme underpinning the whole release. Trollbeads describe it as having different meanings across cultures. Some see it as a symbol of eternal love, others as a motif of good luck or a symbol of the future. It’s also quite beautifully linked to the nature side of this release as the knot can be evocative of gnarled root trees.

I like the design as it feels quite abstract and as my tastes have changed over time, I find myself reaching more for abstract silvers and less for themed. I particularly like the spacer.

A second mini set comprise new Trollbeads Lush Meadow Lock, slightly reminiscent of the Carolina Jessamine Lock but more delicate I feel. It will retail at $65. Also included is the Trollbeads Lush Meadow ($35) and the amazing Trollbeads Lush Meadow Pendant ($85.) I’m already wondering if these could complement the Blooming Katniss Pendant from last spring which is a real favourite of mine. The floral details do not look dissimilar.

Next comes the Trollbeads Seeds Pod ($45) and I struggle with this design just a tad as I have a mild case of trypophobia. While I find this design quite subtle, lotus pods make me very uncomfortable.

The comes the Trollbeads String Spacer retailing at $45. This is an incredibly simple design but I think that brings with it a high degree of versatility.

The next three designs are the Trollbeads Sea Shore ($25,) Trollbeads Puddles ($35) and Trollbeads Trunk of Treasures Spacer ($45.)

Trollbeads Spring 2019 Summary

We’re seeing the return of the quite iconic Trollbeads Peacock Pearl and of course the Trollbeads Aventurine too. The Peacock Pearl is a bead I always regretted not purchasing but at the time, I never really wore pearls. I loved the Trollbeads Peacock Pearl Fantasy Necklace from last year and of course the bead is going to make a wonderful complement to that. Meanwhile the Aventurine is a classic choice for spring due to it’s colour.

Personally I’m thrilled to see the unique lily design enter the collection. It’s been a bead so many have wanted but it was incredibly scarce and generally sold in kits. I also like that there are designs here that have predominantly or wholly been offered as jumbos, now in the classic size. Whilst I like jumbos they can be overwhelming on smaller wrists and other people just don’t care for them.

Overall the glass, stone and the Peacock Pearl are the highlights for me from this release and I’m going to be counting down the days until I can get my hands on the new Sunrise Kit.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on this initial look at the Trollbeads Spring 2019 Collection? Hit the comments and let me know!

  1. Mary B

Loving the glass especially the “roots” beads and the knotted spacer. Overall pleasantly surprised by the basic feel of this collection as opposed to the far out colors of the last two springs which I have skipped for said reason.

    • endangeredtrolls

I love Roots too. That colour :O :O

I can’t remember wanting a kit quite so much for a looooong time.

  2. Lola

Wonderful, especially the Swiss cheese ball (Seeds Pod). I don’t much love abstract beads, but this one is fun; I’d put it with my Mice on Cheese. ๐Ÿ˜€ Roots of Wisdom will be much darker in person, considering stock images are blown-out, and it looks and feels more like a fall bead, I love it the best. Then the Aventurine. Pandora Essence did that stone too and I have a few.

    • endangeredtrolls

I’m glad you like it ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Susan Lloyd

Love the new collection but disappointed that the tulips look nothing like the tulip uniques as would love some more

    • endangeredtrolls

We still have a couple of Tulips left I think. Shoot me over an email ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. MaLa SaHan

Fantastic new glass and silver designs

    • endangeredtrolls

Ohhhhhhhhhhh the glass. I can’t get past the glass and stones right now. Hopefully my brain will catch up at some point and be able to focus more on the silver ๐Ÿ˜›

  5. Enf

Iโ€™ve always loved dragonflies – the real ones hang out in my backyard and at my fav places at the river. I have 2 jumbo dragonfly beads – and I love them – but I have to wear them on a necklace because they are too big to comfortably go on a bracelet. I canโ€™t wait to get some dragonflies that are smaller!!! Iโ€™m so excited for this collection! ๐Ÿ˜€

    • endangeredtrolls

Yeah… that’s the thing. I know those designs aren’t “new” but for me them being in the classic size is actually a big deal. I like jumbos. Actually I like them a lot but I know many who don’t and I like the versatility of the smaller beads. ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. dakotacheryl

My wallet will be in so much trouble!! I “Only” bought 7 of the previous release Peacock Pearls and opined that I didn’t buy more back then. The neutral glass kit has my name all over it.

    Great job trollbeads!!!!

    • endangeredtrolls

The “problem” with peacock pearls is they’re a little like stones. You could have 20 and still suddenly see that one that’s so different and perfect and you know you don’t NEED another but…

As for the glass. I’ve not been this eager for a kit in quite some time. I can’t wait!!!! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

  7. Jamie S

Nothing. I was a new collector a few years ago and decided I will no longer purchase . Beads are expensive and they all look the same after awhile . I would rather save and buy 18k or diamond jewelry . I am wondering where I can sell mine . Most are never worn and are brand new .

    • endangeredtrolls

      Sorry to hear that.

  8. Kim

I love the colors in the glass kits and am happy to see some sought-after unique designs enter the collection. I like the Savoy Knot lock and spacer a lot – those may be my must-have from this collection . The stock images of the Aventurine are gorgeous. I’ll be interested to see if they are able to supply a large quantity in those colors or if they’ll mostly be the more usual pale minty shade. Thanks for the preview. I’ve been enjoying it with my morning coffee!

    • endangeredtrolls

Yeah the hunt will be on for those dark aventurines ๐Ÿ˜› I so can’t wait to see them in person ๐Ÿ˜€

There’s a lot of versatility in the Savoy Knot pieces I think and I know I’ll wear those loads but right now I’m just fixated on the glass, stones and pearl ๐Ÿ˜›

  9. Linda Jo

Wow, I like the whole collection! Especially the Savoy knots.
And the hole collection, I don’t have trypophobia. I wonder how those silvers will compare to the old Shortcut?

Most of the collection is indeed retreading old ground, but that makes the beads very usable, easy to mix in with what we already have and add a fresh spark.

    • endangeredtrolls

It’s just mild for me… I hate lotus pods though. They really freak me out. I’m hoping I can shake the image before the release ๐Ÿ˜‰

And yes.. there’s a lot familiar here but with the stone and the peacock pearls they all vary so much that I’m hoping it won’t upset too many collectors.

  10. Alex

I think the glass is ok nice but Reminds me of uniques which is ok. There are many wonderful silvers in my opinion and the spacers are spectacular and versatile. Do you know if there is a preorder date for retailers??

    • endangeredtrolls

Orders begin today from stock images ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. Elise

This is a really stunning collection! I especially like the sunrise glass, the lush meadow and knotted silvers and the seashore one. I am excited that peacock pearls are back as I missed them the first time! Priorities will likely be the lush meadow lock and some peacock pearls.

    • endangeredtrolls

That whole Sunrise Kit though :O :O I’m almost wondering whether it would work well with a couple of peacock pearls as accents. Kinda like silhouttes against a sunrise?

      • Elise

I like your visualization! The glass in total makes me think of snow capped, spring green shoots on a sunny Spring day.

  12. Naomi Bloom

Love the flowers of elegance and roots of wisdom. Tending towards more neutral colors these days. Had the peacock pearl on my wish list for a while so am excited to see it come back. Nice wearable collection. Thank you for the preview!

    • endangeredtrolls

I’ve also grown such a love for neutrals. I was late developing a love for gold though too. Ohhhh gold with some of these…

      Sigh ๐Ÿ˜€

Anyway you are most welcome and thank you for taking the time out to comment ๐Ÿ™‚

  13. Mary

Fortunately for my bank account, the only one I love and will buy is aventurine. Maybe even 2 of them. I wear my stones and neutrals much more regularly than anything else.

    • endangeredtrolls

As a fellow stone fan I concur ๐Ÿ˜‰ I wear soo many gemstones ๐Ÿ˜€

  14. Karen Juggins

hope they do the kit as seperates, what the drangon fly and the roots ones, wounder what price they will be. ans as for the adventurine, spotting a dark one and getting there first no much chance, at least it is some thing to look forward too.

    • endangeredtrolls

As per the article the glass are available individually. The prices are there too ๐Ÿ™‚

  15. Brigitt J

The greys and the ambers! The impossible-to-find lilies! I have a jumbo dragonfly on my fantasy necklace who will need a little companion. I love that Sunrise kit!! And I will be hunting for a few special peacock pearls to add to my peacock pearl and lucky knot bracelet that I wear all the time. A lot of beads were just added to my wish list!

  16. Paula, Gravesend

I havenโ€™t bought any Trollbeads apart from the heart bangle (which I couldnโ€™t believe had rolled over edges instead of being solid) for a long time. I actually like this release though. I would be interested to see the silver beads along side something I am familiar with for size comparison.

    • Emma

Itโ€™s not solid really Iโ€™m surprised

  17. Emma

Great new/old pearls pair of teal for sure a dark Aventurine, moonstone if i can find one I like, the only silver I like at first look is the sea shore so a pair of theses too

  18. Arwen

Oh, Victoria, I hear you! I am so excited for both glass kits, I think this has never happened yet, they are spectacular. Cannot chose, just want both ๐Ÿ˜‰
Also loving most of the silver, that knot theme, so good they have brought it back.

As for the grey moonstone, what can I say: finally!!!

I am an Aventurine lover, I have quite an Aventurine collection and was so so sad to see it beeing retired.Yay for bringing it back, as well as the Peacock pearl ๐Ÿ™‚

    • endangeredtrolls

Well at least they aren’t faceted kits so they’re reasonably priced! :p

I’m so so looking forward to seeing the Moonstones and Aventurine in person – and their variations more to the point!

  19. Jane Snape

Love the jumbo’s and have several jumbo dragonfly beads so both those and the lilies are on my wish list and some of the neutral beads, emerald Aventurine is a must and so are a couple of peacock pearls, look great on bangles. I also like the pendant many of the larger pieces have been retired and I like to wear them on my foxtail necklace or neck bangle just on its own.

    • endangeredtrolls

I actually think that pendant is really quite amazing. I just then forgot about it when I was excited about the glass ๐Ÿ™

I think a lot of people are going to be hunting for those dark aventurines :O

  20. Jane Nash

Yes, TB are back to their roots again! IMHO, beads inspired by nature is TB’s core.
The two knot-beads, stopper and lock are must haves for me. I wonder how they will look with the Viking-knot?

    • endangeredtrolls

I think – and this is totally a personal opinion – that any brand (or artist) are at their strongest when they are creating something inspired by what they love. With anything artistic, there’s no point in forcing the process. It doesn’t matter if you’re sculpting, drawing, photographing, writing, whatever. You have to love what you are working on or it doesn’t come together. I can instantly tell in my images if I’ve been photographing when I feel off. I can see in my writing if I’m not loving something. To get the best there needs to be passion and you can’t teach or fake that.

      • Lola

We can teach craft, we can’t teach inspiration or excitement for projects, but depending on personalty, those two things aren’t always needed if the craft is solid. There are artists who take commissions, and the work is amazing, though created to request, not to a muse. There are contract writers who do great work to the wants of others and their own need for a paycheck. And there are novelists who love their novels on completion, but then an editor orders massive rewrites, and the novel becomes a chore before the end, the excitement and passion for the project long dead, but in the end, still a great novel because the craft is solid.

  21. Joyce

LOVE this release, especially the green beads and stones (green is my favorite color)!!!

    • endangeredtrolls

Oooh then you’re very in luck with the green ๐Ÿ˜‰

  22. Jamie

Beautiful release for spring! I’m happy to see such a positive response from everyone ๐Ÿ˜ My only negative is that these designs are “old” uniques to me. But it’s nice that now everyone doesn’t have to fight over them and they are normal size beads. The root beads are beautiful and so dimensional. I wonder how well the green one will pair with opal jaguar?? I have a green and neutral bracelet I’m currently building. My other favorites include grey moonstone, Savoy Knot and Friendship Knot. I love knots so this might be a problem.. I need multiples of each ๐Ÿค—
Overall a very solid collection that covers just about everything. Even new earrings! But do they come with backs๐Ÿค” Going to look at live preorder photos now!

  23. Marisa

I think this release is going to be popular. And so pleased to see the return of peacock pearl. Will definitely be making a few purchases but will wait for them to arrive at retailers who offer live images, like the GLB Team do!

    • endangeredtrolls

January the 21st for live image shopping ๐Ÿ˜€

  24. Diane

I like a lot of these – especially the peacock pearls! ๐Ÿ˜€ Can’t wait for live images and to go see the collection at my local retailer.

    • endangeredtrolls

I think a lot of people are excited for the Peacock Pearls and you know it’s going to be one of those beads where one isn’t enough ๐Ÿ˜›

  25. Kate

Iโ€™m a huge fan of Trollbeads rings, I just wish the knot design went all the way around the ring so you didnโ€™t have to worry about it spinning. I love the Babyโ€™s Breath ring and the Troll ring for that reason, but overall, Iโ€™m really into the abstract nature of this collection :).

    • endangeredtrolls

I *love* rings so I’m with you on this ๐Ÿ˜‰ Can’t get enough of them! ๐Ÿ˜€

  26. Amanda Mac

Sorry to add a negative comment but someone has to say it. As a long-term collector I do have a problem when an ethical company like Trollbeads re-issues โ€œretiredโ€ and โ€œlimited editionโ€ beads like the Peacock Pearl and Aveturine. It makes me distrust everything โ€œlimitedโ€ they issue, and from now on, my buying patterns will now reflect that loss of trust. Very disappointed with the company, not the collection.

    • endangeredtrolls

I’m sorry to hear that. Re-releases always upset some people. I’m a little less concerned when it’s stones or pearls purely because they vary to such a degree but I’m very aware that many disagree with me on that.

I must admit I can’t quite understand the logic in retiring a stone. There’s a finite number of them out there (unlike silver designs for example.) If you were to keep retiring them, eventually you’ll exhaust your options.

  27. Lisa G

I don’t know how I feel about the collection. At first I was so disappointed that the kits were just familiar uniques. Upon reconsidering, I love the roots beads and may need the small dragonflies. I will wait and buy the glass from pictures. I love the 2 stones ( I don’t have the aventurine, so it’s new to me), and I love the knot themed beads. I definitely need all the spacers and the 2 locks. The collection is definitely growing on me…

    • endangeredtrolls

The good thing is you have a few weeks to ponder which I much prefer for the customers rather than “here’s the new beads! They’re available now!”

I’m so excited about it ๐Ÿ˜€

  28. Beckie

Iโ€™m sure this will be an unpopular opinion, but I canโ€™t wait for those pearls!! Iโ€™d love a few more of those as there were some colours I just never managed to find.
Will GLB be loading live images/if so when when when? ๐Ÿ˜‚
    Moonstone looks promising too.
I usually hate the spring release, but this almost looks autumnal imo. Very pleased

    • endangeredtrolls

I don’t think it is. The reappearance of retired designs always upsets some but it tends to thrill just as many.

We will be selling from live images but that won’t be until January the 21st ๐Ÿ™‚

  29. Linda

I love 98% of this collection! I am so happy to see the pearls as they were gone when I started collecting. And who couldnโ€™t use more aventurine?
I think I would be upset if they re-issued any of the old silver or even glass. But stones and pearls seem ok. Not sure why lol.
When will you have live images?
