Trollbeads Spring 2014 Inspiration with Redbalifrog

With just over one week until the Trollbeads Spring 2014 collection debuts, I’ve begun to ponder bracelet inspiration. This Redbalifrog blog article revisits the Redbalifrog Eclectic, Exotic & Romantic release as an ideal complement to the new Trollbeads.

I’ve been collecting Redbalifrog for some time and I still become incredibly excited ahead of a new release. New beads are always a novelty and it can be difficult to determine their enduring popularity until much later. Reflecting on the last couple of years, I can now confidently state that the Redbalifrog Eclectic, Exotic & Romantic collection was my favourite. The beads are large and intricately detailed, as is synonymous with the brand. It also delivered the magnificent Rose Lock.

As I began pondering the themes within the Trollbeads Spring 2014 release, that of Arabian Nights and the Hanging Gardens, I realised what a perfect complement the Redbalifrog Eclectic, Exotic and Romantic collection would be. Most specifically I believe the Tiger and the Aladdin’s Lamp are real must haves.

Embracing some of the colours of the Trollbeads Spring 2014 release, I created a showcase bracelet with the Redbalifrog Tiger as it’s focal point.

Trollbeads Spring 2014 Inspiration with Redbalifrog

Many of the silver beads used in this bracelet are taken from the Redbalifrog Eclectic, Exotic & Romantic and the Spirit of Bali releases. Also included is the beautiful Waves bead from Alex Cramariuc. The finishing touch is the new Redbalifrog Stars Lock, perfect for the Arabian Nights setting.

Redbalifrog for Spring 2014 Summary

For anyone coveting the themes behind the Trollbeads Spring 2014 release, particularly the idea of an Arabian Nights bracelet, I’d highly recommend taking a look at Redbalifrog’s range. Particularly the Redbalifrog Aladdin’s Lamp is a perfect accompaniment to this theme and is so beautifully ornate in it’s detailing.

As always I love to hear from my readers. Have you begun planning your bracelets for the Trollbeads Spring 2014 release? Have you already set certain beads aside to complement your bracelets? If so I’d love to hear the details so hit the comments!

Again the type of bracelet that I dream of! Really stunning, vibrant colours… I think that’s the first time that I see the Trollbeads prisms being used. What do you think of them? Do they have nice colours, fit well?

    • endangeredtrolls

      Hi Farah,

I have a bit of a hoard of retired Trollbeads Pink Prisms as I find them absolutely enchanting. They have a very special gold sheen to them that’s difficult to either describe or capture by camera. Anyway I use them quite a lot but I admit they’re my only prisms. I’m coveted the Trollbeads Grey Prisms at the moment but I calculate I need 4 or 5 for my bracelet ideas πŸ˜‰

People tend to either really love or not be impressed by prisms. I think it’s a very personal thing.

      Kind Regards
      Victoria

I adore using the Novobeads “prisms” faceted CZ and mini faceted CZ… and crystals too, so many gorgeous colors… but I know they’re not accessible to all in Europe. That’s how sad I am now about Alex’s beads shipping to usa being so expensive.

Lovely inspiration, Victoria! The tiger and lamp are so perfect.

    • endangeredtrolls

Novobeads CZs are just beautiful. It’s such a shame they aren’t more accessible here. But as you point out, we have Alex instead πŸ˜‰

Lovely bracelet, Victoria! I like these colors together, and the silvers add a fun, exotic feel. The RBF tiger has been on my wish list now for quite some time. And so many of Alex’s beads are on my wish list too.

Any chance you’ll be able to share some live shots of the spring collection before launch date? I’m curious to see how much variation there will be in the Sparkle Glass. I loved the stock photos, but I saw a couple of live shots from a dealer on Facebook a few days ago and thought they weren’t nearly as nice as the stock photos. I was entertaining thoughts of getting the whole kit before seeing the live shots, but now think they may be the type of beads you have to hand select (which is what I do with most of my glass anyways, and I’m fortunate to have a great local dealer who always gets multiples of new beads). With some of the production glass, it seems like I have to wait a while before finding just the right one, and I’m now thinking these might fall into that category. Have you seen any live shots yet that give you an idea on this?

    • Faye

I’ve heard so many ho-hum reviews of the live sparkle kit TB’s – I’m wishing I’d pre-ordered mine from the Local Dealer 20 minutes away instead of online. If I don’t like it, I’ll have to drive 3+ hours to return it.

      • endangeredtrolls

I still haven’t seen them I’m afraid so it’s difficult for me to comment yet :*(

I hope you get a set that you adore

      Hi Kim,

I’m hoping this will be possible though I admit I’m having issues getting hold of the beads at the moment. It seems a lot of people are showing concerns about the Sparkle Kit so I’ll try my best to accommodate some live pictures at release.

    Aren’t they wonderful together!

I love all these colors together, very pretty.

    Come on warmer weather..

Tell me about it πŸ™ Dipping to -10 degrees C here this week with snow and awful biting winds πŸ™ Roll on March! πŸ™

Love, love ,LOVE RBF silvers. I just got the star lock and was not disappointed.
Aladdin’s Lamp is my absolute favorite. I’ve had so many compliments on that one piece.

    Great bracelet. Very cheerful.

    • endangeredtrolls

The Star Lock is beautiful and perfect for an Arabian Nights bracelet! I also love the Aladdin’s lamp and can’t wait to use it with the spring Trollbeads πŸ™‚

This bracelet is definitely not very seasonal but it’s super pretty πŸ˜€

Hi there, Victoria… (I’m another “Kim”…the one who very recently discovered your blog and also gabbed incessantly to you about the incomparable Frightlings). Maybe from now on I’ll identify myself with my name, plus the number “7”, since there’s more than 1 “Kim” who comments here. Anyhoo, I love your bracelet! It’s exotic, and really inspires my imagination (such as, it makes me want to do some serious traveling!), plus the colors are so vivid and gorgeous. I really like both the silvers, as well as the glass. Redbalifrog is one of my favorite sources for beautiful, detailed silvers. For Christmas I got their Moon Gazing Hare, plus Aubrey the Christmas Elf (he’s kind of a “retro” style of elf, actually being based on a Christmas decoration from the 60’s…reminds me of some of my Mom’s old Christmas decorations); I love them, and plan on buying more of Redbalifrog’s creative silvers. Among other examples, I’ve wanted the Fairy Goddess Ayu for a while now, as well as their Howling Wolf (LOVE that one), Aladdin’s Lamp, and now that I’ve seen it on your bracelet, I also want the Tiger. I love to come on here and see your bracelet creations.

On another note, the Frightlings team answered me on their Facebook page a few days ago about both the teddies, as well as Wolfling. They said that the teddies are now slated for an autumn release. Regarding Wolfling, they said pretty much what you did, and that they hope to have it ready for release towards the end of the year. That’ll seem like a lo———–ng wait.

In a recent post, you’d mentioned possibly creating a Disney bracelet; I’m in the midst of putting together a Disney/fairytale-themed bracelet right now. Frequently I shop at the online Disney store (for other things like home dΓ©cor, collectibles, books, purses, etc.), and Friday I ordered Cinderella’s Pumpkin Carriage bead (it’s pretty cute), as well as 1 of the 3 versions of Cinderella’s Glass Slipper. Chamilia has released 3 versions of this, and I found the one I really like the best on there (it’s sold at the 2 Disney theme parks, and now I was happy to find it at Disney.com in their Disney Parks Merchandise section). The other 2 slippers dangle…one’s plainer, the other is blue crystals…but this one looks just like the movie version: ultra-shiny and “see-through” like glass, with little blue and green sparkles and a blue heart cut-out design(blue enamel) in the top of it. The slipper rests on a pretty pillow, just like the movie and book portray it, and the bead is a slide-on…which I like. I’m also getting Marie (the darling white kitten from “Aristocats”), the Minnie Smile dangle, and the Tinkerbell dangle from this latest Chamilia/Disney release to add to my bracelet. Lots of fun. Also on Friday, I received 2 Novo mini cubic z’s in the Heather (light lavender) shade to add; Novo’s cubic z. beads (both regular sized and mini) are *gorgeous*; I love them. Now that I’ve seen them in person, I’ll order more (the Lagoon and Twilight minis are on my list). Novo puts out really nice products, and their customer service has been great.

These days my attention is all over the place regarding charms/beads; I should stay focused on the Disney bracelet I’m working on until it’s completed…but my mind has recently been taken over by the impish Frightlings. That’s on *you*, Victoria! Heh-heh. Hope you’re feeling much better this week. Nightie-night, and take care…

I have a very hard time focusing on one bracelet at a time. I have some friends who will decide a theme and seek out perfect beads until it is completed, no matter how long this takes them. They don’t become distracted, they just quietly complete their bracelet and then move onto the next. I have no idea if this is indicative of specific personality types but I am absolutely unable to do this. I skip around all over the place and buy what I find pretty in any one moment. I worry about what I’ll actually “do” with it further down the line πŸ˜‰ That’s resulted in quite an eclectic collection I think where other people have such cohesive collections.

Redbalifrog are quite unbeatable in terms of the sheer degree of detailing on their silver beads. Alex Cramariuc pops to mind as someone who is able to mimic those levels and definitely worth considering in the future.

I’m rather impatiently awaiting Frightlings news at the moment. I’m unsure when their next release will be but that said, I’m still wanting to treat myself to Aurora so it’s not like I need more temptation πŸ˜‰

As for Novobeads – they have some beautiful beads most specifically the mini-CZs that you mention. Unfortunately for those of us in Europe, they lack a distributor here so many are loathe to purchase them, knowing full well we’ll be smacked with import taxes and handling fees πŸ™ I’ve had tax bills that have more than doubled the purchase price of a product so now I tend to avoid anything from outside of the EU πŸ™

      /hugs

Victoria…regarding the Redbalifrog silvers I mentioned getting for Christmas, the Elf’s name is *Avery*, not Aubrey (as I incorrectly referenced him above). I’m pretty tired and just couldn’t recall his correct name; didn’t feel like looking it up, but of course it popped into my head right after posting my comment.

    Take care…

    • endangeredtrolls

You can call him Aubrey if you like πŸ˜‰ I’m sure he won’t mind πŸ˜‰

Victoria…shades of obsessive-compulsive with my follow-up corrections? Yeah, probably fair enough; I tend to do that with the written word. Take care…
