Trollbeads Shield Debuts

This Trollbeads blog alerts readers to the global launch of the new Trollbeads Shield, the first bead designed for Father’s Day.

Trollbeads have a long history of releasing limited edition designs for Mother’s Day but this year sees the first Father’s Day bead. This is actually a fantastic reinforcement of their Trollbeads Men campaign which launched late last year. Shield is a great gender neutral design with inspiration drawn from the Viking roots of the brand’s homeland of Denmark. Many collectors have mentioned they find it reminiscent of old, long retired silver beads and that’s wonderful to hear considering so many seem to yearn for beads of the past.

Though pre-orders started last week, Shield launches today and retailers can commence shipping. It’s retailing at $35, €35 or £30.

Trollbeads Shield Summary

This bead isn’t huge but I don’t feel it needs to be. The design is simple so it doesn’t need size to show small details. I’m loving it on the Trollbeads Bangles as it doesn’t take up a huge amount of room which is a problem I do have with larger silvers.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the Trollbeads Shield and did you pre-order? Hit the comments and let me know!

  1. Elizabeth (Lizzie)

I like that they’re launching a Father’s Day design, and that it’s unisex. It also seems “Trolly” as in nicely in line with their historical designs.

Doesn’t appeal to me personally, as I’m not a big fan of the design-type designs (rather than the trolls and personalities and nature etc.) but I hope it does well and they continue with it.

  2. Pippa

I hadn’t thought about it’s size in terms of being good for bangles. Good point.

Looking forward to its arrival – I have been wanting to try making some theme bracelets – and this will be a great addition to my stash of fantasy themed silvers.

  3. Gene

I really like this bead…not so much for the Father’s Day part of it, but because of the fact that it is a smaller sized bead. I have been wanting to do a bracelet using just small silver beads.

  4. Lisa G

It’s beautiful in person. Much nicer than the pictures show it.
