Trollbeads Royal Orange Launches Globally

This Trollbeads blog article offers an in depth, celebratory preview of the Trollbeads Royal Orange bead, in honour of it’s global launch, tonight

The Trollbeads Royal Orange bead’s launch has been rather a fiasco at this stage. It was initially set to debut on Friday the 5th of April. Unfortunately, the US distributor had received no stock leaving retailers with no beads to sell. The launch was officially postponed until Friday the 12th. It was logistically impossible to prevent the sale of these beads on the original launch date. The result being some retailers were permitted to sell the bead. In certain geographical regions, the local distributor forced retailers into removing the bead from sale. Naturally Trollbeads haven’t offered any official marketing for the Trollbeads Royal Orange bead due to it’s delay but many collectors have already acquired their beads.

With Friday now marking the global debut of this bead (and US based retailers have indeed received their stocks now), it’s time for an in depth preview of this sumptuous bead.

Trollbeads Royal Orange Bead

The bead has been created in celebration of the crowning of Willem-Alexander, Prince of Orange as king of Holland. Naturally this governs the luscious orange colour of the bead. It’s reminiscent of the Trollbeads Oranje Boven, part of the Dutch World Tour collection, though this bead boasts a faceted cut. It’s worth noting that this bead is a limited edition

I’ll be offering my own review of these beads in the coming days but the images here are provided by the lovely Beth at Trollbeads Studio. They give an amazing idea of the variation found within these beads.

Considering this variation, if you’re particular about your glass, I’d recommend purchasing from a retailer that takes individual images. Trollbeads Studio accommodate this perfectly! Variation appears to effect both the size of the beads (predictably) and also the amount of gold sparkle contained within. For reference, this sparkle is provided thanks to the inclusion of copper frit.

There has been a great deal of speculation regarding the specific shade of this bead, particularly in comparison with the aforementioned #FF4000Oranje Boven. The following images show a comparison of the two beads and demonstrate what a beautiful compliment they are.

Trollbeads Royal Orange Ordering Details

The Trollbeads Royal Orange makes it’s official debut tomorrow. While some eager customers may have chosen to order from European retailers, the US stores will begin selling from tomorrow. Further to this, the European retailers that I have seen haven’t chosen to provide individual images of this bead and this may have deterred many from ordering.

Trollbeads Studio have provided a pre-order link for those wishing to place their orders as quickly as possible and clicking on the link below will open the landing page in a new window:-

Once other retailers list their pages, I’ll update this article with appropriate ordering links:-

Trollbeads Royal Orange Summary

Based on the images, I really do like this bead, though at the time of writing, I’ve yet to physically see it. It’s a beautiful, sumptuous orange colour. While it’s obviously a patriotic bead to commemorate the crowning of Willem-Alexander, Prince of Orange as king of Holland, it will offer versatility as a stunning summer bead. With tanned skin this bead will look spectacular. It’s faceted cut ensures it reflects light beautifully and this will look fabulous in the sunshine.

As always I love to hear from my readers. Are you coveting the Trollbeads Royal Orange bead? Have you indulged in it already or are you waiting for it’s official launch? Are you ordering this bead in multiples or just the one? Hit the comments and let me know!

    Hi,

I just received my Royal Orange bead. I was a bit disappointed by the color of it. On the images it looks like a light orange, but in real it is very very orange!

It doesn’t look good with the other orange colored beads I have, so I have to think about combining it with other colors. No problem :)

    Greetings from Holland.

      Hi :)

Thank you for taking the time to comment :) I agree with you. I think the stock images make it look just a shade or so paler where as these images display it as being a very vibrant colour.

Mine are due to arrive tomorrow so I’m looking forward to being able to play with them a little and work out what on earth I will actually do with them ;)

Have you any other colour ideas?

      Kind Regards
      Victoria

        Hi Victoria,

I was thinking about a combination of blue, black and orange. Looking forward to see what you come up with tomorrow!
        Good luck :)

        Kind regards,
        Nine.

Ooooh I like the idea of throwing some blue in there – definitely not something I had considered. A lovely lady on Facebook suggested perhaps lilacs and oranges but I’m not sure if the bead is actually too dark for this – if it had been slightly paler I think this would have looked amazing though!

Can you image how beautiful these will look towards Halloween too?!

          Kind Regards
          Victoria

Wow! What bright, happy beads :-)

They look very bright and vibrant from the photos, and I am really looking forward to your review Victoria and your wise advice on colour options using them.

I do want two of them I think. I was wondering what they might look like on a brown leather bracelet? I don’t own any TB leather, but I have been thinking about getting one for the summer, and one idea I had was using these orange beads, as I think they might look rather pretty with brown.

    /hugs

    • endangeredtrolls

They will indeed look lovely on brown leather I’m sure and the combination will take you all through summer and into fall.

I’ll admit I’ve been a little naughty with these. I have *cough* four *cough* on their way. I normally buy in twos… but then I wanted an Oranje Boven to do a comparison and the first store I managed to acquire some from had none left.. so obviously another two worked their way into my basket with the world tour bead.

Two should arrive tomorrow – the other two maybe a little longer since they’re winging their way from the USA.

I am really looking forward to playing with them though :D

I’ll see if I can try them on leather for you to see also :)

      /hugs

What a gorgeous charm! I love Orange, so summery but then transitions wonderfully into Fall as well. :) The touch of gold in the flower lock is so perfect as well. I wonder what other color charms might look good right up against the Orange other than what’s in the brown family of charms?

    • endangeredtrolls

      Hi Ashley,

You’re totally right, it looks stunning with sun kissed skin and then beautiful on more autumnal bracelets running into Halloween season :D

As I mentioned in reply to Nine, a lovely lady on Facebook had suggested lilacs with this bead but I think it might be a tiny bit too dark to do this :( Mine arrive tomorrow so I will have an experiment over the weekend!

      Kind Regards
      Victoria

  4. Jennifer Wr

Ooh, they do look bright and lovely! :) I am looking forward to your review after you receive them!

    • endangeredtrolls

      Hi Jennifer :)

It will probably be next week – I’m still sat waiting for the courier at the moment ;)

  5. Kim

I am salivating over the photograph of the long string of Royal Oranges. I’ll certainly be at my local dealer tomorrow to check them out. As far as colors to pair them with, I am big fan of orange and cobalt. Or orange and green. If you want to go bright and springy, how about purple, yellow and bright pink? I know a lot of people have difficulty with orange, but there are so many ways you can go with it! :) Have fun with yours, Victoria!

    • endangeredtrolls

Oh I love the idea of orange and cobalt, I might try that with mine once they arrive (sat waiting for the courier at the moment!)

I also know many people that have problems with orange so I’ll try, in my review, to offer as many variations as possible to give some inspiration :)

      Kind Regards
      Victoria

  6. Ashley

When my orange little babies come in, I’m gonna take Kim’s advice and try them with bright pink beads I have! B/c pink of course is my signature color! ;)

Thanks Kim for the help with ideas! ;)

    • endangeredtrolls

I’ve actually lacked the time to experiment with mine much this weekend. It’s a very bright bead though! Brighter than stock images suggested I think. Love the fruity pink and orange ideas though :D
