Trollbeads Mother’s Day 2019 Live Images

This Trollbeads blog brings early live images of the upcoming Trollbeads Mother’s Day 2019 collection.

Friday (the 12th) will see the global launch of the Trollbeads Mother’s Day 2019 collection but do note there are no pre-orders for these beads.

Today retailers are permitted to share their own live images and though I’ll be taking studio images this week, there’s already quite a lot of discussion on social media regarding these beads and specifically that they differ from the stock images.

Our beads have just arrived at Great Lakes Boutique so I wanted to take the opportunity to get them outside in the sunshine and share my own thoughts on the Trollbeads Flow of Love glass.

Trollbeads Mother’s Day 2019

After looking at the beads and looking back at the stock image, I actually don’t think they do differ at all. I suspect it’s all about the angle. To clarify the glass is actually translucent and I’m not sure this entirely came across in the stock image. How noticeable this is depends a little on striping within each individual bead. Some have very little of that ribbon detail and on those beads it’s much more noticeable that it’s translucent pink glass.

Translucency aside, the sizing seems quite consistent in their height, though a few sparse individuals are quite chunky in comparison with the majority.

That translucency actually gives them a somewhat candied effect and the beads are lovely.

I couldn’t resist trying out a couple of bangle combinations immediately. I’ve combined it here with the Trollbeads Festival glass (you can shop those live here.)

Trollbeads Mother’s Day 2019 Summary

The Trollbeads Puzzle Spacers are a little larger than I had anticipated and that’s always a good thing. As expected that missing “piece” does indeed show the rubber core rather than an oxidised area. They are sitting tight on my bangles.

The glass is very pretty if more translucent than I think most had initially predicted. They do vary enormously however so this is definitely going to be one to shop from live images.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on these early live images of the Trollbeads Mother’s Day 2019 collection? Hit the comments and let me know!

They look like sweets! Think they’re lovely, like the second image better as the first one looks a darker raspberry colour. I am a pink fan though and will be indulging , I think they’re fun! Also like the spacer too. Love your combos and photos are brilliant as always. Thanks for showing us, I’ve been waiting for these!

    • endangeredtrolls

They’re exactly the same beads and bangles. One set of images are in full sun. The second set are in the shade πŸ™‚ It’s just meant to show the difference in lighting πŸ™‚

  2. Karen

    Hi,
    Niz I agree.

But OH those pink ones, I could ware a whole neckless and a bracelet full of these.
    Purse says not a chance.
We in the UK had Mothers day a while back, so do I buy, or do I listen to my purse.

My purse wins, but on my wish list

They’re the same beads πŸ™‚ One set of images is in full sunlight. The other set are in the shade πŸ™‚

  3. Jane

That is so funny, I like the second image better, where they are a darker raspberry πŸ™‚

Then you should like these. If I had to classify the colour, which I actually don’t like doing because so many people see shades differently, I’d go with cerise. They’re a strong, vibrant pink albeit using translucent glass. The base shade is definitely not pastel in any way.

  4. NIZ

Hey everyone, I do know the photos show different lighting conditions and they are the same beads! I did read the article πŸ˜€ Sorry to be unclear …. 🀣 I do like them alot, like little sweeties! I will be able to purchase in real life so am very lucky I get to choose, hoping for a pair. I have been saving!

    • endangeredtrolls

Sorry πŸ˜‰ I spend such a huge amount of time trying to explain about how lighting will make beads look different. I even took videos of rubies at the weekend where I move them – in one video – from the shade to the sun – back and forth. Someone still sent me a message on Instagram saying I had “stitched” together rods of entirely different beads. That combined with actual individual monitor calibration can make for such a headache πŸ˜€

They look a lot like candy. That was the first thing I thought when I saw them in person.

    Hi Victoria,

Do I detect a light green color, almost like a pistachio green?

    • endangeredtrolls

Most of the beads have green and pale pink stripes running through, alongside some glitter πŸ™‚

      • Marie

To me, that touch of spring green is the variant from the stock image. Personally, I enjoy the fact that these beads color shift a bit in different lighting – it sort of gives them a β€˜life’.

        • endangeredtrolls

The green in them is really pretty. If you have some softer green beads you can get a really nice contrast by mixing Flow of Love in there. It’s the green striping that really varies on these beads so be sure to choose it in person or via live images if that’s the part that really appeals to you πŸ˜€

You’ll see a bit more of that when I take the studio images. That and the glitter will be picked up better by my actual camera πŸ˜‰

  6. Maria

Hi Victoria, your photo’s are brilliant, I wasn’t convinced when I first saw the stock photo’s but now I need at two or more beads ( I love pairs)

    Thank you 😊

    • endangeredtrolls

They are very very pretty. I think the stock image… from it’s angle didn’t quite capture the translucency. In combination with the fact they chose an example with a really wide band – and the band looks cream when it’s actually green. If you look towards the centre of the bead though, you can actually see that the pink is clear so I do think it was just a bad choice of angle to show the bead (though a great choice in terms of the overall look.)

Aaaaaaaaaaanyway the beads are lovely if perhaps a little different to what people were expecting. Lovely enough that I have five sat on my desk for my own bangles :O Last time I did that was with Mama Mia.

  7. Lola

It’s unfortunate I prefer the stock image, it’s so light and spring-like, and so much more fitting to the name. How does it look inside, without bright light, where we mostly wear our jewelry? I’ll pass anyway, at least until I’ve seen more images in all possible lighting.

    • endangeredtrolls

The closest images to that for mine would be those in the shade πŸ™‚

      • Lisa G

I didn’t like the glass at first, but now seeing the non stock pictures, the color and glitter are growing on me. I’m not sure I like the puzzle spacer either as a theme or with the missing piece of the puzzle. It seems extraneous to the rest of my bead collection, which is more abstract, with themes from nature. Too bad we can’t see it at bead bash so I could decide… look forward to live pictures to choose the glass!

        • endangeredtrolls

You will be able to see them at Bead Bash πŸ™‚

          • Lisa G

            Yay!

  8. Jamie

It’s funny how different yet similar the stock photo is to the live images. I am looking for ones who have a good bit of swirl and large ribbon of glitter. I didn’t even realize it was a green color, to me it looked like a cream pastel πŸ˜… Either way I am looking forward to picking from live images to get the best pair. I wonder how well they will go with pink delight πŸ€” I was able to get a second one after all this time!! Yay doubles!

On a side note I’m sad we wont see any Easter this year….. or will we?!?!

    • endangeredtrolls

I think the green may have been a victim of processing (or they changed the design a little.) It’s most definitely green. We have a LOT of stock of these beads and none of them have cream bands.

In comparison with Pink Delight, Flows of Love is more cerise though the bands of pink inside might be close to Pink Delight.

      • Jamie

YES! I sent my husband the photo of all your beads and he couldn’t believe all of them together. It makes saying I only want two seem less daunting πŸ˜…
And photography can be a tricky thing. It was hard for me to get a decent photo of northern lights. But IMO you do a wonderful job trying your best to catch their true color. Hopefully people don’t give you too hard of a time. I’ve compared a handful of blogger and store photos to get a true feeling of the bead. Once you see 5 or more different lighting styles or being used on a bracelet you get a good idea of what it will look like. Especially if you can’t buy in person πŸ€—
Either way I hope finding one with a good amount of glitter will help them matchπŸ’–
