Trollbeads Faceted Chalcedony & Zebra Jaspers Inspiration

This Trollbeads blog brings a little inspiration starring the Trollbeads Faceted Chalcedony and Zebra Jasper stones.

Sometimes bracelets I feature here are very heavily themed or have clearly derived their inspiration for a certain source. Other times they are so random even to me. This weekend at Great Lakes Boutique we’re listing a lot of our Trollbeads gemstones and in preparation for that, I simply had a huge amount of inventory on my desk. Amongst those beads were two groups of Trollbeads Faceted Chalcedonies and Zebra Jaspers. It struck me what a beautiful combination they made. They felt slightly moody and yet in a soft way suitable for summer. Half an hour of changing things around and this bracelet was the result and I love it!

Trollbeads Faceted Chalcedony & Zebra Jaspers

The faceted chalcedony is a beautiful stone in it’s own right and yet it’s one often overlooked. It doesn’t have any fancy or elaborate patterns or flashes. While they do vary, they do so subtly so it’s not a stone many retailers are inclined to show from live images. Yet it has a beautiful glow all of it’s own and a slightly mystical feeling quality. Meanwhile the zebra jaspers do vary hugely but at the same time I often hear it’s a stone people struggle to style.

The silver beads used on this combination were chosen for two distinctive reasons. One set which includes the Ohm Beads Luna and Trollbeads Wishing Star, were chosen for their night sky theme. The faceted chalcedony lends itself beautifully to that theme thanks to it’s moonglow feel. The second set including the Trollbeads Bumble Bee Spacer and Dragonfly Beauty were selected for their high summer vibe. We are afterall approaching the summer solstice.

Trollbeads Faceted Chalcedony & Zebra Jaspers Summary

These are colours I’ve never experimented with together and that alone always excites me a little after so many years of styling bracelets. You could easily replace the Zebra Jaspers with something like True Beadz True Wood but I like the additional interest from the jaspers. There are so many variations to be found out there which is ultimately what I love about stones anyway.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts about this bracelet and indeed these two stones in particular? Hit the comments and let me know!

    What a beautiful combination!
That chalcedony in front from the 1st pic is amazing, sadly it’s been grabbed from the shop quickly 😉
I a huge chalcedony lover, ever since the smooth one was introduced. I have several, was so sad to see it retire and was very happy when the facetted one made its debut.
They are so versatile, great for winter with their chilly glow, for autumn with their misty vibe, for spring with their glowy beauty but also great for summer as you mentioned.
They do have a dreamy and enchanted quality, quite magical.

I agree with you, they are a lovely stone and oddly one I never see appear often on bracelet pictures. I truly do think it gets overlooked. Then again the stock image for this bead does it no favours either I don’t think 🙁

        True, it’s a hidden beauty.
Also most of my TB stores around do not carry it or only very milky versions.

I do understand that though, especially amongst smaller stores. If you have 5 (or 10 or 15) of x stone, justifying ordering more just because people hunt for a certain “type” is really hard to do.

There comes a point where you just need to move what you want, not buy more on the off chance you get a desirable version 🙁

          It’s a really tough balance
