Advent Calendar Day 21 – Trollbeads Elegance in Blue (Trollbeads Christmas 2013 Reviews)

During December I’ve been reviewing some of my favourite Christmas beads from different brands. This Trollbeads blog article brings a review of the limited edition Trollbeads Elegance in Blue, part of the Christmas 2013 collection.

We’re now in the last few days before Christmas and many people have finished work for a well deserved holiday. I sincerely hope that all of my readers are looking forward to the festive season. The Trollbeads Christmas 2013 release delivered to us two new limited edition glass kits. I have to admit I believe these are the nicest of the Christmas glass to date. Evidently many collectors feel the same as certain beads are now selling out at online retailers. Specifically the Love Sparkle and Elegant Sparkle beads are vanishing.

Today brings a dedicated review of the Trollbeads Elegance in Blue bead. This is a blue and white bead, reminiscent for me of a wintery forest scene. It has a small core so it won’t fit Pandora style bracelets.

Trollbeads Elegance in Blue

I adore this bead and actually it’s one I’d like multiples of. I can imagine an entire bracelet consisting of these beads to be utterly beautiful. As mentioned it reminds me of a winter forest scene as dusk draws nears and the trees are cast into shadow.

A profile view shows the complexity of this bead and it’s enchanting to view the layers of colours.

I wanted to attempt a blue and grey colour scheme as opposed to the blue and white I’ve experimented with before. Today is the winter solstice for many of us and from here on the days grow a little bit longer. Admittedly it may not seem worthy of any excitement but with under six hours of daylight per day here in Denmark, I’m happy for just a few minutes extra! The colour scheme was achieved with a mix of blue glass and Trollbeads Agate Dendritic beads. Unfortunately I didn’t quite have enough of the latter to complete the bracelet so a Trollbeads Ruby Rock with a large amount of grey on one side was used. In some of the photographs, the splash of burgundy is visible.

Trollbeads Elegance in Blue Summary

I’m a huge fan of this year’s Christmas glass and while I can’t pick a favourite out of the two different kits, I do have preferences within the kits. For the Elegant Christmas Kit, this bead and the Elegant Sparkle are by far my most coveted beads. Indeed I’m tempted to try and utilise this in a future fairy tale bracelet.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the Trollbeads Elegance in Blue bead? Have you indulged in this bead or is it on your wishlist? Have you purchased any of the Trollbeads Christmas glass? Hit the comments and let me know!

    Hi Victoria,

Beautiful bracelet – the blues and greys look fab together 🙂

Elegence in blue is my favourite of the xmas glass, although sadly funds did not run to getting any of the 2013 glass, which I will probably regret as it seems to be very popular and selling out fast.

I’m still very happy with my shooting stars, and I think if I had enough money to buy everything then collecting wouldn’t be so much fun as I think part of the challenge is choosing what I can / can’t fund.

Hope all is well with you. I’m getting a but fed up with the wet and very windy weather here – ugh 🙁 so depressing, so thank you for your advent cal posts as they are certainly a little ray of sunshine in an otherwise depressing winter world 🙂

    /hugs

      Hi sweetie,

I’ve been sat watching the weather for you guys 🙁 We’re lucky this time I think.. It looks like it’s going to blow off north rather than east to us but what an awful month or so it’s been 🙁 I honestly can’t believe the number of storms we’ve had.. and not just normal storms but really nasty ones! 🙁

You’re absolutely right about being able to buy *everything* taking the fun out. I think there’s a chance you can end up not valuing what you have to. I try every so often to sit down and really play with my beads and remember which I love, try new combinations and so on. Otherwise I risk overlooking some of the beautiful beads I’m so lucky to get sent.

Are you ready for Christmas? The Danes primarily celebrate tomorrow and all I seem to have done today is clean 🙁

      /hugs

    Hi Victoria,

I bought the Elegance in Blue kit as soon as they came out and love them. I had hoped to buy some from the Red Kit but I kept finding such great retired beads at TBG that I just couldn’t pass them up. Two of my most thrilling finds were the Anniversary Lock and the Chess Lock. I never thought I would find either of those. I only need the Gold Hearts and the Number Block to complete my Anniversary Bracelet but with the ones I’ve found this past year I’m happy whether I get the last two or not. I just hope they don’t show up before I can save up a while. ~Rebecca
