What follows is a full preview of the Trollbeads Christmas 2012 collection, including pictures.

As a side note, I do not watermark over stock collection images as I don’t feel this is appropriate. I do however ask that if you choose to share these images that you detail their source. It takes seconds and it means a great deal to me. The images will be found on my Pinterest page shortly after publication for those wishing to share them directly with their friends via this social platform.

After the success of the last two diamond beads, there’s little wonder that the Trollbeads holiday collection sees a return to this coveted style. This year’s offering is a beautiful icy blue colour making it fabulous for winter themed bracelets.

This bead retails at the same price point as other diamond beads – $63 / 57 EUR / Β£53.

Trollbeads continue their journey into larger cored beads with the new universally cored Azure Bubbles. Both the Azure Bubbles and the Organic Bubbles are hugely popular beads so it makes sense to test these designs with collectors of other brands.

The universally cored Azure Bubbles retails at $31 or 28 EUR. (Please note, the price of universally uniques has been reduced temporarily as a special offer from Trollbeads.)

As much as I was unconvinced by the limited edition Easter dangles (ironically I argued that they looked like Christmas lights), I’m quite with these. These adorable dangles are sold in kits of three and it will be interesting to see the kind of patterns that emerge on them.

The Christmas ornament dangles are set to retail at the same price point as the limited edition Easter dangles. The price is $207 for a set of three or $69 / 63 EUR / Β£56.

Trollbeads Christmas 2012 – The Silver Beads

A total of nine new silver beads are making their debut for the Trollbeads holiday collection. Some are typically festive, others are more subtle and some are just heart warming designs.

The Christmas Rose is set to retail at $28 / 28 EUR.

Penguins live almost exclusively in the southern hemisphere, especially in Antarctica. Here is a penguin mother, feeding her little penguin baby.

This will be surely popular with the animal lovers and it’s a heart warming design though admittedly, it’s difficult to ascertain the detail in such small pictures.

The Penguin and Baby bead has a retail point of $44 or 42 EUR.

Trollbeads Christmas 2012 – Christmas Tree

Official Description

Rocking around the Christmas tree, let the Christmas spirit ring…

Trollbeads Christmas 2012

This is the bead that I’d heard rumours about and specifically I’ve received a number of emails asking to confirm or deny these whispers. It seems the rumours were indeed true and I’m delighted to see Trollbeads add a Christmas Tree to their collection. Furthermore, I believe they’ve successfully avoided falling into the “cutesy” category and this is quite a contemporary feeling rendition. This is an absolute must have for me.

The Christmas Tree has a recommended retail price of $59 or 58 EUR.

Trollbeads Christmas 2012 – Seal Family

Official Description

A Seal Family playing in the water getting to know each others voices so they can always find each other

The second of the animal and baby themed beads for the Trollbeads holiday collection. Once again this is sure to be popular with the animal lovers and it’s another heart warming bead for the festive period.

The Seal Family is set to retail at $44 or 42 EUR.

Trollbeads Christmas 2012 – Winter Berries

Official Description

Nothing brights up a frosty landscape like winter berries as they help to feed the birds during the cold season.

A simple design yet contemporary feeling due to it’s extensive use of texture. Another spherical bead sure to compliment the new Winter Snow and Christmas Rose beads.

The Winter Berries bead has a retail point of $44 or 42 EUR.

Trollbeads Christmas 2012 – Polar Bear and Baby

Official Description

One of the largest predators on land. Beautiful, impressive and dangerous, but yet so caring towards her little baby

Trollbeads Christmas 2012

The last of the animal and baby themed beads for the Trollbeads Christmas 2012 collection comes by way of a polar bear and cub. With these animals so severely endangered due to climate change, this is a fitting miniature representation of a stunning bear.

The Polar Bear and Baby bead has a recommended retail price of $53 or 51 EUR.

Trollbeads Christmas 2012 – Bougainvillea

Official Description

Flowers than make you think of romance and warm nights in the Mediterranean

A heavily textured bead that’s sure to be popular with the floral bead enthusiasts.

The Bougainvillea has a recommended retail price of $28 or 28 EUR.

Official Description

Soft and sweet. My heart melts when I see you

Trollbeads Christmas 2012

A contemporary design on a classical heart shaped bead. Gestures of love are always popular on charm and bead bracelets and this is sure to be no exception. I predict many a collector receiving this as a Christmas gift.

The retail price of the Soft Heart bead is $59 or 58 EUR.

Trollbeads Christmas 2012 – The Gold Beads

Trollbeads Christmas 2012 – Gold Bougainvillea with Diamonds

It seems there’s just one new gold addition for the Trollbeads holiday collection but it’s an incredibly elaborate one!

Official Description

Flowers than make you think of romance and warm nights in the Mediterranean

Trollbeads Christmas 2012

This is a stunningly beautiful bead (this coming from someone who tends to be unappreciative of the metal.)

The gold Bougainvillea has a recommended retail price of $1155.

Trollbeads Christmas 2012 – The Lock

There is always much deliberation prior to new collections as to whether a new lock is likely to make an appearance. The “Christmas lock” for 2011 was a duo tone which annoyed some fans as the price of gold ensures a heavy retail point despite the tiniest amount of gold. This year is an all silver lock.

Official Description

A spectacular lock with beautiful buds like wild berries

Trollbeads Christmas 2012

Image Courtesy of Trollbeads – Please Do Not Reproduce Without Crediting

Rather than attempt an overtly festive lock, Trollbeads have opted for a more subtle design reminiscent of winter berries. It’s an incredibly tactile design thanks to it’s heavy use of texture and the contrast between the high shine buds and the oxidised background give it a fresh and contemporary feel.

The lock with buds will retail at $57 or 52 EUR.

Trollbeads Christmas 2012 – The Bangle Bracelet

It’s been a long time since Trollbeads launched a new bracelet but indeed Christmas 2012 sees exactly this.

Official Description

Use the bangle alone with your favourite Trollbeads, or let several bangles decorate your wrist. Use stoppers at each end of the beads

Trollbeads Christmas 2012

Image Courtesy of Trollbeads – Please Do Not Reproduce Without Crediting

Many collectors have been asking for bangles and it seems Trollbeads have heard their pleas. I’ll admit that I would have preferred to see some kind of twist cap ends to secure the beads as an alternative to the required silver stoppers. I’m not an enormous fan of the Trollbeads silver stoppers and necessitating this use doesn’t thrill me with delight. That said, I adore the idea of having a brand bangle as an option for wearing beads. Bracelets with just a few beads are becoming very popular among collectors and I’ll admit to find the Trollbeads bracelet a little unattractive. As such, I prefer to wear my bracelets full to cover the chain. For those feeling the same, this certainly offers more possibilities.

Furthermore comes the issue of usability. Trollbeads locks can be difficult to fasten unaided. The bangle is going to provide a much easier alternative for many people that struggle with the locks. Creating a “go to” bracelet with a bangle at it’s core will result in a combination that can be placed on the wrist in seconds.

For reference these will be available in four sizes; small, medium, large and extra large. The bangle is set to retail at $133 (around the 100 EUR mark.)

Trollbeads Christmas 2012 – The Conclusion

I always find Christmas collections the most exciting. It’s party season and designers tend to let their imaginations run free in terms of colours. Of the two new limited edition glass kits, I feel that the Christmas Decoration Kit is the nicest of the two but it’s all down to personal preference. I love the heavily glittered designs and the rich colour palette of this set. The Sweet Christmas Kit is a little more traditional in it’s colouring though I find some of the patterning perhaps a little dated for my personal tastes.

Of the silver beads, it’s difficult to really decipher the design of the more complex beads, such as the baby animal trio. I really love the new Christmas Tree, Winter Berries and Winter Snow beads and these all fall into the “must have” category (along with the Christmas Decoration Kit.)

I’m ridiculously excited about the new Christmas Ornaments and the irony isn’t lost on me after I was really quite harsh regarding the limited edition Easter dangles. While these are available in kits of three, it’s possible that individual retailers may choose to split their kits and allow them to be purchased on a single basis. From the image available I adore the two festively coloured offerings in the centre with their vivid Christmas hues.

I think the bangle will be welcome by many collectors from those who struggle to fasten locks due to physical issues to the ladies who like to keep long manicured nails. I really love the idea and I’ll undoubtedly indulge in one of these but I still wish the execution had been a little different.

I can foresee the lock being incredibly popular as it’s not an overtly feminine design. For the male collectors, their choices of lock are highly limited, particularly if they don’t have access to some of the retired options (such as the anniversary Troll Lock or the Chess Lock.)

The collection launches earlier than predicted on Friday the 2nd of November (a little over two weeks away!)

There are more than a few must haves in this. I can’t see the details in the animal trios either. Don’t know if they are must haves or not.

    • endangeredtrolls

I agree the silvers are hard to make out – especially the animals. I love the Christmas Tree but I tend to like the cliched designs for the holidays πŸ™‚

I’m loving some of the glass though.

Which are your must haves? πŸ™‚

    • endangeredtrolls

      Larger pictures now up πŸ™‚

  2. Jane

There are some very desirable beads – the Christmas Tree and heart stand out. The bangle looks very elegant and simple, but I would worry if the stoppers would be sufficient. I also have a Chamilia bangle with a twist cap and don’t wear it much as it is a bit ‘hard’ on my wrist, so I wonder how comfortable the bangle will be….

    • endangeredtrolls

I have to say I don’t have any bangles but I’ve pondered them many times over the years. I’m like you, I’m a little concerned that the stoppers don’t feel very substantial between my precious beads and thin air! πŸ˜›

I never considered the comfort option I must admit.

      Kind Regards
      Victoria

      • Brook

I’ve been waiting for a bangle from TB. Maybe putting 2 (!) silver stoppers at each end will ease our anxiety……

        • endangeredtrolls

          Hi Brook,

Thanks for the comment and you could be right. I’m sure actually that the stoppers would be sufficient – I think it’s more a psychological concern that *potentially* there is just one iddy biddy bit of silver between my darling beads and fresh air!

I know many people have hoped for a bangle so I’m really curious to see it in “the flesh” so to speak.

Any other must haves for your new bangle? πŸ˜‰

          Kind Regards
          Victoria

  3. Bryn

Thanks for the peek! Some look promising, others ill have to see IRL…..

Do you happen know if the tree is two pieces that interlock theheart bead in the current line?

    Thank you!

    • endangeredtrolls

      Hi πŸ™‚

I absolutely hadn’t considered the Christmas Tree being in two parts but I totally see what you mean about it. I have the official product descriptions (as you probably saw) and it doesn’t detail that it’s in two pieces but equally the official description for Double Heart doesn’t explicitly say that either.

I’ll see if I can find out for you – nicely spotted!

      Kind Regards
      Victoria

    • Ashley

The tree is in two pieces!

  4. Debra

I see several items on my wish list, both glass kits and the oranment dangles. I would really love to see a closeups of the silver pieces, but the tree is a must have. Trollbeads already has a berry bead, so what is the difference in the Winter berries? I for one am glad that the clasp is not two-tone, TB gold is too high for this girl.

Can’t wait to see all of this in person.

    Thanks for posting these, Victoria.

    Debra

    • endangeredtrolls

Aren’t the dangles cute?! I prefer the dark kit to the festive one but I’d probably be tempted with both quite easily πŸ™ Also very pleased that the lock isn’t two tone as I can’t justify Troll’s gold costs πŸ™

Hopefully some larger images will show up in the not too distant future – especially as the release is closer than I had thought!

As always, it’s my pleasure Debra πŸ™‚ Hope you’re well πŸ™‚

      Kind Regards
      Victoria

  5. Wendy

Thank you so much for the pics Victoria! I have to admit, I love the Christmas Decoration kit. Those colors can be worn way past Christmas. That Christmas tree might be a must have. The lock lost me though…does it have chicken pox??

    • endangeredtrolls

Aren’t they beautiful Wendy? The colours remind me of coffee and chocolate.. two of my favourite things in the world and I agree, they’ll have so much use outside of Christmas πŸ˜€

The Christmas Tree is a definite must have for me, so I’m relieved they didn’t pop a gold star on top of it or something πŸ˜‰

I *love* your comments regarding the lock! I quite like it from the pictures but I don’t think it’s terribly festive. I’m thinking that after the problems with the Catching Hearts lock for Valentines, they’re being cautious with the actual designs of new locks. I like it’s texture but Christmasy? Not really!

I’m still hoping someone will come out with an amazing Christmas lock – maybe Trollbeads Christmas 2013.. or Amanda at Redbalifrog!

Thanks for the comments – It’s so lovely to hear what other people think!

      Kind Regards
      Victoria

  6. Ashley

I’m SO glad there is another option to wear TB’s, (bangle) rather than that very unattractive traditional TB bracelet. I don’t even know what the stoppers look like to put at the ends of the bangle, I’ll have to check that out. I’m a Pandora girl all the way! But recently I’ve noticed some TB glass charms that I would love to own. And now seeing what’s coming out in November makes me even more excited to buy TBs because I can wear it all on the bangle. I received years ago the TB bracelet with a lock and one retired charm on it, never wore that bracelet one time. πŸ™‚ Very excited for November!!

  7. Amanda

Hi Victoria and many thanks for your excellent detective work! Do you know what the prices will be? I think last year the glass beads were Β£35 (Glass2) price in the UK – ouch!!!

    • endangeredtrolls

      Hi Amanda

Thank you and I hope that you’ve enjoyed the preview πŸ™‚

      Regarding the prices:-

The Diamond bead is the same as the others putting it at $63 / 57 EUR / Β£53

The kits are coming in at $258 for the complete set or $43 / 39 EUR / Β£35 each, putting them in the Glass II beads category again πŸ™

The ornaments $207 for a set of three ($69 each)

      Hope that helps

      Kind Regards
      Victoria

      • Amanda

Many thanks Victoria. I thought they might be glass II prices πŸ™
I love endangered trolls and visit regularly now – the preview is excellent, keep it up!! πŸ™‚

        • endangeredtrolls

Yes I know Amanda πŸ™ The prices are a little painful πŸ™

Thank you so much for the kind words and have no fear, my blog is going nowhere! πŸ™‚ I love writing for you ladies!

          Kind Regards
          Victoria

  8. Mars

Thanks Victoria for the peek, I love the Christmas Decoration kit and a new lock is great news!

I can’t wait for more detail with close up photos on the silver, particularly the penguin one. We’re overly fond of penguins in this house, just hoping it’s not too twee.

There’s a lot in this collection that I like, I can see exactly where my Christmas money will be going…

    • endangeredtrolls

      Hi πŸ™‚

I hope you’re well and that the blog is going well πŸ™‚ (Congratulations on the weight loss by the way – that’s an enormous amount!!)

As soon as more pictures emerge – larger more detailed pictures – I’ll be sure to get them up. I agree that it’s hard to judge with the smaller versions but I think people prefer to see *anything* at this stage πŸ˜‰

      Kind Regards
      Victoria

      • Mars

Thanks! The new trim me enjoying life and the blog!

Definitely agree on the any pictures rather than no pictures!

I know a few folk have said the new lock reminds them of various infections… I’m going to think on it as droplets of water or bubbles (don’t see them as buds) that would work well with any of the bubbles beads or the water based ones, it’s nice to have something that’s not a flower or an animal.

I like the idea of you showing more retired locks, for us newbies to Troll that would be great!

        • endangeredtrolls

I know how wonderful the feeling is. I dropped from a UK 16 to a 12 a couple of years ago and I’ve never looked back. I know many say it’s difficult to keep the weight off but I have never found that. I did it slowly and “correctly” cutting food intake and increasing the exercise and at times it was so horrible! Remembering what a painful process it was more than motivates me to keep my weight off! Very nice idea of rewarding yourself with a bead too. 2 stone is an enormous amount of weight, you should be really proud of yourself xxx

Lol at the infected lock πŸ™ The problem is now whenever I look at it I’m remembering these comments πŸ˜‰ Water droplets is a nicer visualisation! That way it would look really apt on wintery bracelets too… kind of like melting snow or ice.

I’ll definitely snap some images of my older locks and add them to the retired show case πŸ™‚

I’m glad to hear that you’re enjoying the blogging πŸ™‚ It gets a little addictive despite the hard work it can be to keep the articles going πŸ™‚ My problem is that the blog takes up time when I should be working on my fiction! πŸ˜› Writing about jewellery is so much easier πŸ˜‰

          Kind Regards
          Victoria

          • Mars

Congrats on your own weight loss, sounds like we both did it in a very similar way. It was hard work to continue with it for a year but slow and steady was definitely the way to go for me, and very much worth it. Rediscovering old favourites in my wardrobe that I can wear again! I can’t see me letting the weight go back on after all the effort to get it off, it took many years to put that 2 stone on as I never took any notice of my weight before, but I shall be keeping an eye on it from now on πŸ˜‰

Know what you mean about the blogging; so much more fun than the day work! I took a break when I went away (rather than prep all the posts beforehand to publish whilst I was away) so had a proper break from everything.

Have been poring over your bigger photos, think the penguin will be coming to live with me as a gift from my live-in geek and will need to decide what to buy for myself. I definitely fancy the new lock as I love the textured ones, my original lace lock from my invitation bracelet is still a favourite choice of lock for me.

Glad they are released well in advance of Christmas as I noticed with the Halloween stock that it seemed to take a long time for some retailers to have any of the new collection in. Will be good to have a look and take time to choose beforehand.

            Enjoy your Friday πŸ™‚
            Mars x

  9. Anne - Norway

WOW! Here is a brand new idea for bangles:
I suppose this one is like a straw, hollow as it seem to be so thick?
I have two bangles already with different size on the screw balls on the end. I seem to worry a little for the small ones (6 mm) because the length of the treading are short, while the 8-9 mm one have much longer threading which feels more reliable.
With a hollow bangle one would be able to make a longer stick with treadings to screw into the hollow straw right?
If Trollbeads believe I will wear my Yes-bead with just stoppers they are wrong!
But I would certainly LOVE a Christmas tree, especially if it is two-parted like the Double heart!?
And an Ice blue Diamond bead for my new born baby grandson πŸ™‚
    – even if I would preferred a teal one for Christmas!
    Thanks for the sneak-peek, hihi….

    • endangeredtrolls

      Hi Anne πŸ™‚

I hope that you’re well πŸ™‚ I did think of you when I saw the bangle! I assume you are correct and that it is hollow otherwise the amount of silver would be quite large I think.

You might get lucky an find one of the new diamond beads close to a teal colour. I once found a beautiful Pink Diamond that was a pale salmon colour as opposed to the hot pinks. Unfortunately, the lady before me in the store had also spotted it and she took it home with her πŸ™ But some do vary!

I also love the Christmas Tree but as I mentioned in reply to another comment, I have no idea whether or not it’s two piece. The official description doesn’t suggest that but equally that’s not a confirmation. I will try and find out more regarding this.

      Kind Regards
      Victoria

      • Jocelyn

The Christmas Tree will be in 2 parts!

        • endangeredtrolls

Really? That’s awesome! Thank you for this πŸ™‚ A lot of the ladies here will love this news!

          Kind Regards
          Victoria

          • Bryn

Woo hoo! I was hoping that was the answer- I’m thrilled with the design of this tree and that it’s not something cutesy. Thanks for the info!

          • endangeredtrolls

            Yay!

        • Mars

          Ooh fab news! Thank you.

  10. Carolin

Hi, i love our Website, and till my friend told me 2 weeks ago, she heard rumors about the christmas collection.I take a look at your site 4-5 times a day. Keep going on:-)
I love the green and red glaskit, and the Christmas tree is perfekt. The Soft Heart catches me at once.
I must agree that the Animal beads are too small to say anything.
I am not quit sure why there are some beads new interpretated like the polar Bear and the Berries. The look almost like the one we habe in the Collection.
The snowlake as well, but i like it more the the old one.
The dangles are cute, like the ones at the christmas tree.
The Lock are a katastrophy to me. The Heart Lock are awfull, but the new looks like someone hammered the Heartlock to the new one.
No i am very sad about it. I wished to have one in the old style like the old tulip lock or flowerlock, or the something more trollish.
But nothing that looks like it has chicken pox (someone already wrote that either).
Do you know what stays in the collection, and what is Limited edition?
    Greetings from Germany
    Carolin

    • endangeredtrolls

      Hi Carolin,

Thank you for your kind words about my site πŸ™‚ It always makes me so happy (and a little emotional) when I get such feedback πŸ™‚

It seems quite a few people are not happy with the lock so you are not alone πŸ™ I agree that the older Trollbeads locks were superior – they had more detail, quirkier designs and just felt more “Trollbeads” to me – I completely understand what you are saying. Infact I think I need to photograph some of my retired locks and add them to the retired gallery. Perhaps with enough good feedback Trollbeads will see the designs people loved!

As far as I’m aware, it’s just the two glass kits that are limited editions πŸ™‚

      Kind Regards
      Victoria

      • Carolin

        Thanks Victoria,
yes it would be great if you took some pictures of the Older one, by the way i am not a big fan of the chess look, nevertheless it is one of the most hearted one. Like the Troll-lock too.
Lets hope that TB will hear our wishes for more “olderstyle” Locks (like in Bruce Allmighty:))
Ok, well here in Germany the Christmas Set from last year with the holly Berry is still availabel, so there is no big hunt for it.
But as a lot of women see your preview posting. Most of them fell in love with the black Kit. So i think this year there could be a hunt for the second Glas Kit:-) Lets see, what comes up, and when there will be better Pictures of some of the beads.

I was fortunate enough to get both a Tulip Lock and a Chess Lock over summer from a friend and former retailer selling her collection. I was squealing with delight when I saw them. I’m generally not into flowery things but I do use the Tulip Lock an enormous amount as I think the craftmanship far outweighs the newer locks. My Troll Lock came from the same lady, though the year before and it’s probably my most worn Trollbeads lock. I love that it’s so quirky – there’s just nothing out there to compete with it’s design.

My local stores all sold out of the Trollbeads Christmas kits last year quite quickly but most only bought one or two sets :p I only managed to fund a few of the glass beads last year so this year I’ve tried to plan ahead and hopefully I’ll be able to get all of the darker kit :)) Maybe even a few silvers!

I’m hoping larger pictures will become available quite quickly. As soon as they are I’ll get them posted as I do appreciate the animals are near impossible to see from these.

Trollbeads do seem to be listening to their collectors more so I think if people are vocal enough about the older style locks, they will try and take notice. I’ll admit I’m a huge fan of Redbalifrog locks precisely because I can find more unusual designs there in comparison with Trollbeads newer ones πŸ™ All that said, I still want an Elephant Lock.. the list never ends πŸ˜‰

Funny, that the USA are so different to Germany. Most of the christmas Kits are still there, haning unloved at the Dealers Desks!! I am quite sure i will get the 3 most adorabel Beads from the first kit, and i hope i manage to get 2 Kits from the black, cinnamon set ( friend of mine has no dealer around, so she asked if i can help.
But as you spoke…the list never ends. So if ou get tiered with our tulip lock – just a quick shout, i`ll be there:-)

i am looking forward for Big Pictures
and much more fan of you (and your site) after our short messages

            kind regards carolin

I’ll certainly keep you in mind should I ever sell it though I think it’s unlikely unless I ever decide I no longer love Trollbeads πŸ˜‰

The larger images are now available! Refresh the article and you should see them πŸ™‚

Hopefully that should help you to see the detailing on some of the silvers – particularly those animal themed ones. I still believe some of them will need to be physically seen though.

Again, thanks for the kind words – I love talking to readers. It’s shutting me up that is the problem πŸ˜‰

hi victoria, have seen the big pictures..great.
The pinguin looks much better, but the polar bear. I am not quite sure. What about the dangles? Are they massiv? I mean pure glass? Or are they just bubbles? I could not imagen, because they would burst, but on the picture it looks like…
    well seem to be exciting.

I will hang on what your are writing, love our site
    keep on

    • endangeredtrolls

Oh I see what you mean Carolin

The green and the red one do look a little bit bubble like. I’m not really sure on the size. They’re the same price as the limited edition Easter ornament dangle thingies so I’m assuming they’re around that size. I have a couple of the retired limited edition unique charms from 2008 also, they could be that size I guess? (They’re pretty much the same size as the current Spring / Autumn / Winter beads in the current collection.)

I’m really looking forward to seeing them πŸ˜€

I’m so happy you like my work πŸ˜€

      Kind Regards
      Victoria

      • Carolin

Hi Victoria, do you really think that the dangles will cost the same like the easter eggs?
I could not belive it, because the easter eggs are about 63€, but if there are packages with 3!! The price is about 189€ (with discout maybe 163 perhaps) i dont think that will anyone pay, especially when you do not have a chance to select the 3 most adorable. So if that is the plan i can only hope that the retailers will sell them seperatly. But i am not quite sure if i will spend that much for the christmasballs (dont know the english word).
So i hopefully belive that the did NOT cost 63€

          Hi Carolin,

I’ve got confirmed prices for most of the collection.

The Ornaments are $207 for a set of three or $69 each. The description specifically says that these are available in kits of three so I suspect the decision to split them might lay with the retailers.

          A little pricey!

          Kind Regards
          Victoria

          • Carolin

Oh my godness, 207$ is whats about the euro price i sugjestet. So i think the retailers have to split them, otherwise they have the dangles the next years.
when do you post the prices of the other beads?:-) i am not curious, just interested in everything.
I sugjestet that the winterrose will be about 28€, must be around 34$.
The glas kits will be around 44$. But the rest? no idea. Do you know the price for the gold bourgainvillea with diamants? Not that i will buy it but it must be extraordinary high because gold and diamant…are a guaranty for $$$
            kind regards carolin

            Hi Carolin πŸ™‚

I’ve updated the article with prices about 30 minutes ago πŸ™‚ They’re under the pictures of each bead. I’ll try and get around to editing the prices into the actual images but I’m so tired right now! πŸ™‚

The gold Bourgainvillea with diamonds is set to be $1155 πŸ™

Victoria, do you know what pieces are limited editions?

This is my first Christmas with TB and I want to know where to start first. I love both glass kits, but I was really hoping that the six bead was free when you buy the kit like it is in the production beads. Hopefully there will be some special promotions going on. I know a couple of online merchants are offering $25 off with purchase, so I hope that deal is still going on.

    • endangeredtrolls

      Hi Debra πŸ™‚

The limited editions are the two glass kits. This seems to be the norm now for Troll’s Christmas releases. Don’t worry too much though as while they’re limited, they do tend to be produced in enough quantities that they stick around for some time.

But yes, if you want to be cautious, grab the two glass kits first!

      I love Christmas collections!

I’m pretty sure the US retailers will keep some lovely offers on and I know there are gift with purchase promotions for the Christmas release in the US too πŸ˜‰

      Kind Regards
      Victoria

      • Debra

The Glass kits are at the top of my list as well as the tree. Now I wish I would of held off on ordering the starter bracelets, there is so much here I want.

        Thanks
        Debra

  13. rainey

Thanks for the original and the larger improved pix! It’s great to see what will be available. Not sure how many pieces are right for me this time around but it’s still great to see them.

Do you know if the “diamonds” on the gold Bougainvillea are actually diamonds or cubic zirconia? Trollbeads throws the word “diamonds” around in a way that’s surprising to me as an American. In the US market to make a claim that’s untrue is verboten and I’m not sure how they’ve gotten away this far calling the glass beads “diamond”.

I think the idea of offering a bangle bracelet is great but I don’t think this one does it for me. It look so unfinished. I’m wondering if those blunt ends will get caught in things like knits without some larger element to cap them. I also dearly wish they had fluted that tube/wire and given it a couple twists. The exposed part would have had a much more interesting appearance with just a couple beads. I do very much like the look of just a couple beads that will stay in place though. And I think bangles may provide the impetus for Trollbeads to add some interesting texture/design to the surface of the stopper beads at long last.

My own favorites are the Winter Snow, Christmas Rose, the sliver Bougainvillea and the Soft Heart. I think the design of the Winter Snow and Christmas Rose are graphic enough and strong enough not to have to reserve them for Christmas. And I think the Soft Heart is the most interesting heart bead they’ve done yet. I like how that little twist gives it some real profile on a chain.

    • endangeredtrolls

      Hi Rainey,

Firstly, thanks for the comments – I love to hear from other collectors and get their opinion on new releases.

Regarding the gold Bougainvillea – I’ve checked all the blurb that came with the pictures and it doesn’t say at all. There’s no detailing of the gemstone in any way so at present, I can’t help πŸ™ It carries a very heavy price tag though. The silver Bougainvillea is in the silver I price bracket and the gold version is retailing at $1155 – that to me suggests the gemstones should be diamonds because I think the actual gold involved is tiny!

I think I’ll get a bangle, more to check it out than anything else but you make a very valid point about it getting caught in knits πŸ™ I would have preferred to see some kind of screw cap ends on it. (Indeed over on the Facebook page, quite some time ago, myself and another reader discussed how cool it would be to have a bangle system with interchangeable ends… kinda like gemstones or glass or decorated silver. I’ve no idea how easy this would be to execute though.)

I’d love to see more interesting stoppers as I think Troll’s versions are really dull πŸ™ That’s perhaps what primarily puts me off the bangles. I suppose it increases their stopper sales though πŸ˜‰

I also love the Winter Snow – it’s so simple but so pretty πŸ™‚ The Soft Heart is a very interesting design to me as it looks a little contemporary in it’s shape.

I think my initial must haves will be the darker glass kit, the Christmas Tree and perhaps the Winter Snow if my budget can manage it πŸ˜€

Once again thanks for your comments. If I hear anything further regarding the “diamonds” in the gold Bougainvillea I will update you πŸ™‚

      Kind Regards
      Victoria

      • rainey

What a great idea to have choice on the screw-on end caps! TB collectors have such interesting ideas! A People’s End Cap competition? ;>

My choice would be a dichroic marble with a threaded tube encased within. Or a silver acorn cap with a glass seed.

  14. Leigh

I love the Christmas decoartion kit, the darker colours are my favourites and I’m sure I will be snapping this one up. It’s a shame that the LE kits are so expensive though.

I will need the berries lock too, I’ve been hoping for a new silver lock for ages so I’m really pleased to see this enter the collection.

    • endangeredtrolls

Hi Leigh and thanks for the comment.

The Christmas Decoration Kit is stunning isn’t it? I adore the colours! I’m undecided on the Sweet Christmas Kit at the moment. I think I’d wear them at Christmas and then never again where as the darker kit I think I’d get a lot of use out of.

I’m glad to hear someone else liking the lock! Most people don’t seem keen on it but my initial reaction was that I wanted it! I was feeling a bit alone in the pro-lock camp πŸ˜‰

      Kind Regards
      Victoria

  15. rainey

It just occurs to me: there is no pic of the dangles on either of those bracelets. I wonder why that is.

I am looking carefully at the pic of them by themselves and comparing the glass to the size of the jump ring that’s going to go on the chain. I”m thinking they must be quite small. But, still, I don’t understand why they didn’t add them to the bracelets since the glass seems to be themed to each of the kits. :: scratching head::

    • endangeredtrolls

I understand what you’re saying here though the Christmas Ornament dangles are described as having a universal core.

The Christmas Ornament dangles are something I want to try and get hold of for review but they’re expensive I feel πŸ™ I’m also sceptical of the whole packs of three thing. I can guarantee mine would be ugly!

      Kind Regards
      Victoria

  16. Charms Addict

I’m undecided about the glass colors in either kit; I’m not a fan of the traditional red/green theme, but while I do like the warm brown and taupe in the Christmas Decoration kit, I’m not sure I want to do a whole bracelet with those colors. Maybe just the whites ;). Even though the lock makes me think of boils, I must have it! I’m so glad there’s a new lock with this collection.

    • endangeredtrolls

      Hey Leann πŸ™‚

I get what you’re saying about the colours. I do like the traditional colours for Christmas but I don’t like shelling out a lot of money for beads with little use beyond Christmas. Yes, I could use them again next year but by then there will be all new beads around and I’ll undoubtedly favour those due to their novelty πŸ˜‰ I have to say, I find the Sweet Christmas kit a bit twee and dated looking too πŸ™

I think I’m with you on the lock. I’m not overwhelmed by it but I don’t hate it like many seem to. I think I’ll probably grab one to take a look at it in person and decide from there πŸ˜‰

Of the silvers, the Christmas Tree is my must have I think.

Of the glass… Depends how far the budget will stretch! I’d really like the darker kit and I’m quite taken by the Christmas Ornaments. Less taken by their price and the random packs of three issue though πŸ™

      /Hugs to you

Hi!! Thank you very much for all the information, itΒ΄s perfect!!
I love lots of this beads… I want to ask you something, that I donΒ΄t understand, probably because the language… wich ones are limited edition, and wich ones gonna be permanent collection??
    Thanks so much.

      Hi πŸ™‚

The two glass kits are limited edition – The Christmas Decoration kit (brown) and the Sweet Christmas Kit (red and green). Nothing else said limited edition next to it’s name on the information I received!

      I hope that helps πŸ™‚

  18. Debra

I went into my LD dealer and they just received the new Christmas pieces and allowed me to have a sneak peek.

The Christmas dangles are to die for, there was a blue one with a couple of different designs, a white one, and a beautiful red and green one, looks like holly to me. They also had the red and green ones that are posted above, but they didn’t have the neutral colors. The glass kits were also very pretty and think you could use both kits year round. The blue ice diamond is gorgeous.

The tree is big and does come in two parts, which I didn’t like. The animals I didn’t look at too much, the penguins’ are nice but you can see then better from a side view. I think this would have to be on the end otherwise the other beads will cover them up. Out of the flower beads I loved the Bougainvillea, it’s small but had a lot of detailed. The winter berries is just larger than the small berry bead and the winter rose was small, wish they had made it a little bigger. The clasp I really didn’t look at, it justs has a lot of bumps.

There is a lot on my list, but the dangles are now on the top of it, I couldn’t stop looking at them.

    Can’t wait until next Friday.
    Debra

    Hi Victoria,

In the netherlands we have a saying, literally translated it’s : I am not an endless well. Well victoria I think you are an endless well, with words. It is really great to read everything you write, it’s full of passion and interest and you have a kind word for everyone. I wish a lot more people in this world would be like you, it would be a kinder place.

I absolutely love the new TB collection. All I have to do now is save money( or buy a lottery ticket

    • Shirley

The last piece off my message went missing.

      (Or buy a lottery ticket πŸ˜‰ )
My favorite is the new lock, I think it’s very berry.

      Love,
      Shirley

    • endangeredtrolls

      Hi Shirley,

What a lovely thing to say, thank you so much! It’s made me quite emotional reading that <3. Given you took the time out to make such a lovely comment, I think the same could be said about you!

I'm always so happy to hear from people that enjoy and like my writing. I've loved to write from being quite young and wanted to carve some kind of living out of it for a long time. My blog gives me a good and structured outlet while I battle away at my fiction πŸ˜‰

Furthermore I love hearing from readers! We all share the same "addiction" regardless of brand so it's always so fabulous to hear what different people think of new collections and how they put together their bracelets.

Regarding the lock - this is a perfect example of different views! Some seem to detest it and think it looks diseased. I showed it to my fiance last night while I was trying to create some kind of priority system for what I wanted and he thought it had a rocky, edgy vibe to it. That got me thinking of how it might look on black leather with perhaps just one or two silvers and I think it could be really effective and give a totally different aesthetic to the Christmas bracelets.

I totally get what you mean about trying to save for the release though πŸ™ The fall collection doesn't seem that long ago and then there were those starter bracelets with the dotty spotty glass... now this! I'd semi hoped that I wouldn't like the Christmas release but I love it πŸ™

Maybe we need some kind of Trolls-in-Need lottery syndicate πŸ™ Or perhaps I should market "Will Work for Beads" signs as a free download from the blog πŸ˜‰

I hope you're well and it's so lovely to hear from you πŸ™‚

      Kind Regards
      Victoria

  20. Ashley

I don’t know if you already posted this, I saw the tree today I’m person and its in two pieces! I love the new Christmas charms! Many of them are on my wishlist!

    • endangeredtrolls

      Hi Ashley! πŸ™‚

I had heard this! I think another lady had confirmed it in the comments. I’ll admit I’ve preordered this so I’ll do a full review in the future πŸ˜‰ (Won’t have them for release though as they’ll be flying their little selves all the way from the USA.)

I’m so jealous of you seeing the collection in person!! I absolutely can’t wait to get my hands on these. The only problem is I’ll be wanting to wear Christmas bracelets as soon as they arrive and it’s only November!

Are you going to indulge in any? πŸ˜‰

      Kind Regards
      Victoria

  21. Shirley

    Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has seen the azure bubbles IRL? I just spoke to my TB dealer and apparantly this bead will not be released in the Netherlands.

    Thanks,
    Shirley

    • endangeredtrolls

      How weird is that?!

I know the German retailers have definitely received it as a couple have listed their stock already.

I’ve no heard anything about it being limited to certain markets πŸ™

I haven’t seen any of the beads yet. I’ve got “real” images of quite a few as opposed to the stock images. My local retailers rarely have the beads at launch (with the exception of Perlen), so I don’t hold much hope of seeing them tomorrow either πŸ™

      Kind Regards
      Victoria

  22. Debs

Hi I have not really made my mind up as yet but like a couple on the beige/ brown kit and am I right in thinking we can only buy as a kit??
Anyway shame about the prices on the glass I think they are a little bit high.
I’m not that blown away with the silvers but will reserve judgement until I see them IRL, same with the lock I think.
Thanks so much for giving us a sneak peek it’s so helpful but at the mo my verdict is not to dash out to buy these as I have done before.
    Kindest regards Debs X

    • endangeredtrolls

      Hi Debs πŸ™‚

In regards to the kits, it depends a lot on the individual retailer. Some prefer not to split them in case they get left with multiples of just one type of bead while people grab the “more desirable” beads.

From my list of retailers, Star Bijou are selling them online as individuals:- http://www.star-bijou.de/trollbeads/neuheiten which is just perfect for those not wanting a whole kit. The site is in German but most browsers will translate for you (Chrome certainly does at least) and they’re lovely people to deal with.

I’ve preordered both the Christmas Tree and the Lock with Buds. The other silvers I would prefer to see before I make a decision on them but I’ll probably place a second order in December.

I am hearing various rumours that the glass kits are proving very limited but it’s always difficult to judge whether this is true or not. (For reference, I read it on Facebook from a couple of retailers I have no association with so I don’t know whether they’re just trying to drive sales or are actually being genuine ;p I’m a skeptical person ;))

Once my beads arrive here I’ll do reviews so people can get a better idea of size and colour but they are headed from the states so it’s going to be a good week to ten days before they land with me.

      Kind Regards
      Victoria
