Trollbeads Bumble Bee Spacer Inspiration (Featuring Ohm Beads Bee Ohm)

This Trollbeads blog brings a little inspiration for the Trollbeads Bumble Bee Spacer. It includes pieces from the Ohm Beads Bee Ohm release.

Earlier today the Trollbeads Buy Three Get One Free Spacer Promotion started for the USA. This time the promotion only includes decorative spacers and not plain. I mentioned in the article earlier today that I use spacers a huge amount and not purely as they’re intended. I often prefer the smaller, neater and more consistent size of spacers when it comes to bracelet design. I also use to split beads into segments, on the rare occasion I wear complete bracelets.

This week I’m aiming to provide a few ideas for wearing decorative spacers, away from their obvious use of stopping beads from falling off bangles.

Trollbeads Bumble Bee Spacer

Of all the decorative spacers the Trollbeads Bumble Bee is one of my favourites. I would absolutely love a pair of these in gold but of course the cost of that is really high. They have such beautiful detailing to them and I find them a very useful size for me. Rather than use them as spacers on the end of the bracelets, I wanted to showcase them framing a central bead. In this instance the focal glass is the Trollbeads Honey Dawn, so aptly named as it does resemble honey.

The ambers used here are some of my favourite types. The faceted creamy ambers aren’t consistently easy to find though they have appeared in recent amber kits. The second variation are faceted, clear ambers with a lot of inclusions. For reference these beads will all be listed on the live image section of Great Lakes Boutique shortly.

Many of the silvers used here are from Ohm Beads and specifically the Ohm Beads Bee Ohm collection. This was such a lovely release and though a couple of years old now, it’s still as perfect for the summer as it ever was, albeit some of the silvers are really small. Also note the Ohm Beads Brass Birdie clipped to the lock. It just adds a little hint of warmer metalics.

Trollbeads Bumble Bee Spacer Summary

This has been consistently one of my most worn decorative spacers and one of my go-tos for summer bracelets and bangles. They look beautiful framing amber beads in particular but they’re so decorative that even the simplest of bangle combinations look incredible.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the Trollbeads Bumble Bee Spacers? Will you be participating in the Trollbeads Buy Three Get One Free Spacer Promotion? Hit the comments and let me know!

    Victoria,
As usual you are not helping with my bead budget. I had passed on the Bumble Bee and Capsule of Life spacers but now that I have seen this changed my mind. Love this bracelet composition ,such an adorable use of the Bee spacers and Ambers plus with all the Bees buzzing around our ranch not to mention the sale I say it must be a sign for sure that I call Angel at Great Lakes tomorrow 🤕.

I love my Bumble Bee spacers. I use them all the time, and I don’t ever regret the expense (I didn’t get them as part of a promotion.). I never thought of using them to frame a focal bead, though! This bracelet is lovely. The creamy, buttery ambers look great in this combination. They lighten the mix in such a simple and effective way. I have many of the silver bees shown here; they’re currently hanging out together with some True Beadz green and yellow glass. If I can ever tear them away from each other, I’ll be looking to try this.

I’m not completely sure I’ll do the TBs spacer promotion, though it’s always such a nice one. I have had my eye on the Lightning Bud ones… 😊 What’s your take on the Beehive spacer vs. the Night Sky?

    • Lisa G

They are very similar. Beehive is more regular and symmetrical.
