Yesterday brought the news that the much beloved Trollbead’s Baby Troll has been redesigned for the autumn period. Rather than being perched atop a strikingly bright coloured troll stone, the Baby Troll is now being awarded a far more subtle Blue Tiger’s Eye throne. After the announcement of this by Trollbeads Italy, the Baby Troll has now appeared on Trollbead’s Universe detailing his new price. At the time of writing, there’s still no sign of this bead on the Trollbead’s Official Page (so he can’t be ordered directly from Trollbeads), nor do stores appear to be stocking him. It certainly does appear that he is replacing the “old” Baby Troll which has now been removed from both Trollbead’s Universe and the Official web store.

There have been rumours circulating that pictures of the new autumn collection would be released today. This sounds slightly strange to me as Trollbeads always attempt to keep their new products under wraps and so far today, no pictures have emerged. However, what has become apparent is that the new lock due to launch as a part of this collection is going to be a gold and silver mixed lock. There’s currently just one mixed metal lock in the collection; the Golden Flower (pictured below.)

The bad news being that this will substantially increase the price of this lock. Many fans tend to prefer a choice between metals allowing it to suit all budgets. That said, a hint of gold on the new lock could certainly add a rich colour to a more autumnal bracelet. There were further rumours that this lock would be the previously unreleased to the public “Chess Lock.”

This lock has never been a part of the official Trollbeads collection. It’s traditionally been gifted to retailers who take part in the official Trollbeads training. (I’ve no idea if this is an ongoing situation. It was originally given to those retailers that attended a course in the history and making of Trollbeads.) I’ve heard nothing to validate the rumours of this lock’s appearance in the autumn collection, though it would indeed lend itself to being produced in a gold / silver variation.

Finally, the re-release of the retired pink prism has caused quite a stir in the Trollbeads world. Many collectors are torn on the issue of re-releasing previously retired beads. It’s a sure blow for those who have spent a lot of money on obtaining this classic prism. This release isn’t going to be a world wide affair, rather it appears set to make it’s initial appearance in Australia. There are unconfirmed reports that at least one more country will be receiving this limited edition prism (those same rumours suggest the USA will be the lucky country). To clarify, the new pink prisms will be hallmarked “LAA” where as the old prisms were unmarked.

I’m definitely the F#@k bead. I’ve developed a “Fuck it” attitude after a series of unfortunate life events. I often think to myself “WTF” throughout the day. People need perspective. My nephew’s childhood cancer gave me lots of it. Yes, I say Fuck. No, I’m not apologetic about it. That’s why I bought the bead.
