After an agonising wait for collectors, Trollbeads autumn collection 2011 has finally launched. The collection consists of seven silver beads. One of these has already been made available to buy; Rolling Waves, winner of the People’s Bead award 2011. In addition there are two silver and gold beads, one solid gold bead, a lock, a stone, two goldstones (while these are classified as gemstones, they are man-made) and finally twelve glass beads divided into two sets of six. I assume whether the glass kits are split or not is at the discretion of the individual retailers, though it’s more common that they refuse to split limited edition kits rather than general release sets.

There are a total of twelve glass beads in this release split into two complete kits; The Folklore Kit and The Organic Kit. (The Folklore kit is to the left of the picture and The Organic Kit to the right)

From left to right we have:-

  • Coral Stripes
  • Coral Flower
  • Organic Stripe
  • Organic Bubbles
  • Purple Armadillo
  • Purple Waves

The armadillo is obviously going to be popular. While the Purple Armadillo has featured in the Trollbeads collection before, it retired in 2003 leaving these beads highly sought after. The Organic Bubbles is this year’s version of the hugely popular and versatile Azure Bubbles from 2010 (pictured below). This was the bead that many collectors purchased in multiple numbers and I predict Organic Bubbles being just the same. In terms of versatility, particularly for creating autumnal themed seasonal bracelets, this would be the one bead I would encourage you to purchase. The Azure Bubbles has always seen a huge amount of variation in it’s colouring and I’d imagine we’re going to see the same with this year’s version.

From left to right we have:-

  • Dew Drops
  • Fireflies
  • Flower Clouds
  • Whirling Adventure
  • Lake Eye
  • Lucky Clover

Again there are some lovely beads in this kit though I think Dew Drops will be the most popular (and again, if you only buy one bead from this kit, I’d recommend this one!) It’s colour makes it such a versatile bead and not purely in autumnal bracelets. The beautiful champagne tones would make this bead look exquisite on a very neutral bracelet (perhaps with a couple of gold beads) to create a very elegant combination. Lake Eye is my second favourite from this kit. While it’s luscious deep green tones are perfect for autumn, I can also see it making some stunning festive creations closer to the Christmas period.

Trollbeads Fall 2011 Gemstones

There are three stones in this release. Two of these are the stunning goldstone gems. Perhaps due to the success of the faceted blue goldstone in the limited edition gemstone kits of early 2011, Trollbeads have added two of these gems to their official collection. These are both smooth cut so they differ from the limited edition offering. It’s worth noting that goldstones are man made gemstones and not naturally occurring minerals, not that this detracts from their beauty.

The final gemstone is a faceted blue tiger’s eye.

If you’re thinking this gemstone looks familiar, you’d be correct. It’s the same gemstone featured in the revamped Baby Troll.

This stone is simply stunning for the new season. It will look spectacular combined with a couple of the Organic Bubble beads. Perhaps throw in a Smoky Quartz or Golden Quartz (pictured below) and you’ll have a bracelet that’s bang on trend for the fall.

With the appearance of the new Baby Troll, the old version featuring the Troll Stones has now retired.

Trollbeads Fall 2011 Silver Beads

There are eight silver beads in this collection, including the People’s Bead winner, Rolling Waves. Rolling Waves hit the stores last week but there have been reports that some retailers were refusing to sell the bead until the launch of the autumn collection.

The two waves of this bead move independently of each other though please be warned, this bead is very small in the “flesh”.

This collection offers three stunning, spherical silver beads.

From left to right in the picture above are Autumn Splendor, Falling Leaves and Silver Whorl. The latter is somewhat reminiscent of the Trollbeads retired Joyful. It’s a fantastic substitute for those collectors who have never been fortunate enough to obtain the Joyful bead. These three silver beads will compliment each other perfectly and keep consistency through a bracelet design.

The next three silvers are more diverse. From left to right we have Hugging Bear, Decorative Bird and Expectation. The release of another teddy bear themed bead would suggest that the “old” Teddy Bear bead maybe leaving the collection shortly. This hasn’t been confirmed but I can’t imagine Trollbeads choosing to keep two very similar beads in their current collection.

The decorative bird is incredibly eye catching and very unusual. Expectation meanwhile is the start of a theme running throughout this collection (that of parenthood) which continues in the gold and silver beads.

Trollbeads Fall 2012 Duo-tone Beads

There are two gold and silver beads in this collection and both represent the theme of family.

On the left is the new bead Maternity and on the right is Paternity.

The Gold

This collection boasts just one solid gold bead. This is perhaps partly due to the very high gold prices at the moment resulting in these beads being out of reach for many collectors. Fortunately, this bead is also available in silver so it isn’t unobtainable.

The above is Gold Whorl. The patterning of this bead will make it hugely popular I think. One of the reasons for the success and popularity of Joyful was it’s versatility and this bead boasts the same.

Trollbeads Fall 2011 Lock

>

As previously reported, the lock in this release is a gold and silver lock.

This bead is strikingly similar to the existing Golden Flower lock and even takes the same name. It does have a more slender frame but those hoping for a large lock along the lines of the ever popular (and user friendly) Fish Lock are out of luck. As with the Teddy Bear, I presume this new incantation will replace the “old” Golden Flower lock (pictured below.)

This completes Trollbeads autumn collection for 2011. It’s worth remembering that even with this release now hitting the market, there are a couple more to look forward to. September marks the release of the Japanese world tour beads. After the success of the limited edition Kimono Kit, I’m particularly looking forward to these. September also brings a very special offering by way of a thirty fifth anniversary bead. As previously reported, this bead features the distinctive Trollbeads logo (shown below.) What’s now known is that the bead is a coin based design. Rumour has it that this bead launches on the first of September so hopefully pictures should emerge soon.
