Svane & Luhrs Spring 2015 Nordic Charms Review

This charm jewellery blog brings a review of the Svane & Luhrs Spring 2015 Nordic charms.

When I offered previews of the Svane & Luhrs Spring 2015 Bracelets and charms, the new Nordic charms designs proved popular among my readers on social media. I have to confess I tend to focus predominantly on the leather. It’s just so easy to add a splash of coordinated or contrasting colour with a leather bracelet and I often get caught up in the colour rather than additional adornments! Nevertheless I wanted to showcase the lovely new Nordic charms.

Svane & Luhrs Spring 2015 Nordic Charms

The new Nordic charms use a tube style design which allows the colour of your leather to show through. They’re available in two different sizes. The largest is 1.5cms in length while the smaller one is 1cm. They’ve debuted in both silver and gold plated.

My larger one features the central floral detail which I’m presuming to be a daisy. The daisy is very iconic to Denmark (both the national flower and the nickname of the queen) so it feels incredibly apt. It’s retailing at €53.

The smaller version lacks the flower which prevents the charm from becoming too cluttered (keeping in mind that Danish design tends to be quite minimalistic!) This smaller charm retails at €46.

Finally you can see a direct comparison in the sizing. Even the longest isn’t large enough to cause any discomfort when worn on the wrist.

Of course the beauty of these designs is how they look on the bracelet. I’ve opted to showcase them on the new Svane & Luhrs Marsala Bracelet. Marsala has been declared the Pantone Colour of the Year for 2015 and it truly is a lovely shade. It also has a lot of practicality aside from being super on trend. It will see you through into the autumn months with ease and it’s wearable by most skin tones.

Svane & Luhrs Spring 2015 Nordic Charms Summary

I’m a huge fan of Svane & Luhrs and I definitely discovered them at the right time for me as Story by Kranz & Ziegler are becoming more difficult to locate. I’m also slightly concerned that the gothic aesthetic I loved about Story was the realm of former creative director Mads Ziegler. With Mads now working on a new brand, I’m wondering if that will result in a change of direction for Story. Kranz & Ziegler have now withdrawn from most markets which will also make the line much harder to source for my international readers. For those pondering a different brand I can’t recommend Svane & Luhrs enough. The bracelets wear incredibly well and they’re so comfortable. Further to that the range of colours represented in their leather is nothing short of staggering! The two lines are also compatible so existing products can be combined.

The Nordic charms are lovely. With TV show Vikings recently having reached the end of it’s season 3 run (and I still have a complete girl crush on Lagertha,) these feel perfectly timed. They’re ornate and beautiful and work so well on the leather.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the Svane & Luhrs Nordic Charms? Have you been tempted by this line yet? Hit the comments and let me know!

I’ve two story bracelets, would these charms fit?

Yep! As per the article, the two lines are entirely compatible 🙂

Hmm wonder if the small charm will go well with your peacock beads? Or would that become too “swirly”? It could be interesting to see a bracelet combining the two, though 🙂
