Revisiting the Trollbeads Mamma Mia

This Trollbeads blog revisits the limited edition Trollbeads Mamma Mia with some delicate green shades for the spring season.

Yesterday I featured the upcoming Ohm Beads Sunflowers and mentioned that a true test of a bead for me, is how often I use it after the initial novelty has worn off. It’s so easy to get swept away by the hype of a new bead, especially glass and then decide a couple of months later that actually it doesn’t really work for you. I was initially not excited for Mamma Mia. I thought the stock images made it look a little bland and I still feel it’s a bead better judged in person. When it arrived with me however, it was straight on my wrist and hasn’t really been off since.

As we’re now officially in the spring season (believe it or not,) I wanted to revisit this with some soft green shades.

Trollbeads Mamma Mia

I have actually experimented with Mamma Mia with deeper greens and specifically the Green Jasper stones but I found the contrast too stark. For this bracelet I’ve incorporated some paler shades including the Trollbeads Meditation and the Floral Wishes. The latter actually looks more green or lavender on stock images but alas, I’ve yet to find one that actually looks that colour.

I’ve retained the pearls and Feldspar Moonstones from the previous combination and I’ve kept the silvers fairly small again.

Trollbeads Mamma Mia Summary

I think it’s safe to say that Mamma Mia has now surpassed the phase of being mere novelty though I still tend to style it a little more simply than seeing here. I prefer it on a bangle with simple pearls but that’s just personal preference. I’ve always struggled with green as a colour but I’ve been trying to push myself a little out of my comfort zone with bracelet design recently, including less symmetrical designs.

As always I love to hear from my readers. Weeks on from the launch of the Trollbeads Mamma Mia, how are you styling yours? Hit the comments and let me know!

    Hey Victoria,
Hope all is well ? I received Mamma Mia on Monday they are pretty though I tend to like flowery beads not liking them as much as I thought I would . As the bead looked a bit busy , I only bought two and not my customary three or four you know the whole OCD thing , thankfully they are fat. Anyway after seeing yours with three it appears to look and flow better with more than two.
For Spring I had planned to pair them with Malachite or Cobalt stones , it looks grand with them it’s just that the stones may be too strong for early Spring or I need more Mamma Mia’s. Going to also try them with some Trollbeads Dillos.
I like the new Ohm Sunflower charm and love Sunflowers but it and the colors used in today’s and yesterday’s combo though pretty look more Fallish therefore won’t work for me now.

I’ve been working with the leaf colors used on Mama Mia, combining it with bright Lapis stones (also a complimentary color to the orange of the flowers), and the bright dichroic green of the glass Earth bead. I’ve kept my silvers to a minimum, preferring to let the colors take the center stage. It is a bold, bright piece that may technically be better suited for summer, but I like the clean, crisp combination.

@Marie , I had the same thought of picking up the leaf colors, I actually like it in combination with Blues or Greens .
The biggest issue I think is because from last Fall I have been wearing all silver bangles and charms then I put on these bright colorful beads and Lordy they seem so bright have to ease into the glass, doing one Mamma as focal flanked by a pair of Troll Rose spacers on a silver Bangles , hopefully wil be adjusted and back to normal soon.
