Redbalifrog Winged Heart

This Redbalifrog blog brings a dedicated review of the Redbalifrog Winged Heart, part of the Holding Your Heart collection.

Last month the Redbalifrog Holding Your Heart collection debuted for Valentine’s Day 2017. It’s a tiny release consisting of just two new designs with a very classical or traditional air for the day.

Redbalifrog use universal cores so they’re fully compatible with both Ohm Beads and Pandora charm bracelets.

Redbalifrog Winged Heart

The Redbalifrog Winged Heart is a dangle style bead. It can of course be worn as a pendant but it’s not a huge design and the drop is actually smaller than the Trollbeads tassels so it’s not an annoyance. The detailing on the wings is delicate, the heart motif in the centre swings free and the design is identical on both sides.

This is actually a bangle combination I made for Instagram but I liked it so much I wanted to showcase it here too. (Incidentally please follow the Great Lakes Boutique Instagram too as I’ve at least temporarily staged a takeover.)

It was actually built around the Ohm Beads Erie Rocks. This bead is exclusive to Great Lakes and limited to just three hundred and thirty three pieces. Being a super vibrant bead I wanted to tone it down by showcasing it on an oxidised chain. This contrast gives it more of a winter feel rather than a summer vibe. Do remember there’s an index of all the beads used at the end of the article.

Redbalifrog Winged Heart Summary

This is such a delicate and poignant charm, though admittedly I’ve always adored wing motifs in jewellery. It’s not large by Redbalifrog standards but I deem this an advantage. It doesn’t irritate the wrists when worn and nor are there any sharp edges to snag on clothing.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the Redbalifrog Winged Heart? Did you indulge in this charm or is it on your wishlist? Hit the comments and let me know!

Looked forward to the release and especially your review as when it was released I suspected the bale was too short. For that reason though I like this charm not sure I will buy it. A personal thing (OCD) not a fan of Dangle charms that force my beads to sit as this does.Maybe if one could have a jeweler squeezed into an oval but then it may not fit on the chain or maybe it would be ok,but then that would destroy having the charm as it was made. First time seeing a Redbalifrog charm that I have issues with.
I prefer how the Trollbeads Tassels fit.

You’d need to chat to a jeweller to be honest. If you really like the charm but don’t like how it sits, you can always use it on the clasp of a lock since it would swing freely that way πŸ™‚

I really do like it,had a bit of bead play this pm and thought about it a bit more.Maybe if I put it between two smaller Silvers or smaller beads like my favorite retired Pink Prisms.
Bead budget for February is exhausted, Pandora last week and Ohm Birdies accompanied by “Hope” flew in today.Gearing up for Trollbeads in March.
BTW is Winged Heart heavy ?

    • endangeredtrolls

No it’s not heavy at all πŸ™‚ Actually I’d say it’s pretty light by Redbalifrog’s standards. And yes I think if you used smaller glass it would help it to sit more as you want πŸ™‚ Fortunately too it’s not a limited edition so you have plenty of time to decide if you really do want it <3

      xoxo
