Redbalifrog White Sea Pearl Review

This Redbalifrog blog article brings a dedicated review of the newly debuted Redbalifrog White Sea Pearl, part of the Big Blue collection.

With the launch of the Redbalifrog Big Blue collection came the new White Sea Pearl. Redbalifrog don’t have glass in their collection but they do have beads produced from organic materials. To date has been turquoise, onyx and a variety of woods. The latest addition is the pearl.

Obviously Trollbeads have pearls within their collection but they use a small core. The Redbalifrog version has a universal core, making it compatible with most bead bracelet brands and that’s pretty exciting! It retails at $46.

The new Redbalifrog White Sea Pearl seems to run larger than the Trollbeads version. It has a larger core in terms of the actual silver used and this is quite effective against the white of the pearl, though it is of course a personal opinion. Do be aware that it uses end caps rather than a full core, though the silver does extend a decent distance into the pearl.

For this bracelet I combined the pearls with the Trollbeads Blue Tiger Eye. I’ve always loved this stone as it has such a subtle shimmer to it. I was hoping the flashes of colour may be sufficient to capture the idea of the reflection of the moon on water. On reflection I think it needs more Tiger Eye stones and fewer pearls. With the Redbalifrog White Pearl representing the moon, all of the silver beads are celestial in theme. Notable inclusions are the original Ohm Beads OhmMyGod,their December Bead of the Month Stardust and of course the much loved Luna.

Redbalifrog White Sea Pearl Summary

My first pearls are relatively new to me and came around the same time as Mamma Mia. I wanted them for more simple styling of such a busy glass bead.

The Redbalifrog White Sea Pearl is lovely and the larger size may well suit some collectors. That comes with the caveat that I’ve only seen one pearl in person so I have no idea of the size variation in a broader sense but I think it’s safe to assume there will be some.

Do note that I completely forgot to take a bead index image for this article when I was batch photographing so if you’re unsure of any bead, just drop me a note in the comments section.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the Redbalifrog White Sea Pearl. Hit the comments and let me know!

I love the pearl! I love that it’s big and has the silver endcaps. I am not a pearl person but will look forward to buying several of these!

I have been having a lot of fun with Trollbeads pearls recently, but am not sure about these. I think I’m going to wait to see them at Bead Bash.

This is beautiful, Victoria. I love the celestial theme and the pearls representing the moon. What is the silver bead that appears to be angel wings? Is that a TB?

That is the very long retired Ohm Bead OhmMyGod 1. It was a Great Lakes Boutique event bead 2016 🙂

    Dear Victoria,

I’m thinking of starting a bracelet with Redbalifrog beads but I have a problem.
Does the Redbalifrog silver contain nickle?
Could you find that out for me please?
    Thanks
    Ann

I’m a little confused here. Sterling silver would never contain nickel. That’s regardless of the brand 🙂

Thank you for the reassurance, now I can go ahead with the bracelet I have in mind.
