Redbalifrog Celestial Bodies Debuts

This Redbalifrog blog brings a complete preview of the newly debuted Redbalifrog Celestial Bodies collection.

Today sees the launch of the Redbalifrog Celestial Bodies collection for the high summer season! The name originally piqued my interest prior to ever seeing images as I love night sky or celestial themed designs. A reader expressed concerns in the original announcement article as to whether these would be more zodiac designs and thankfully they are not!

Instead Amanda has created a beautiful, coherent release that touches on several aspects of the theme. It’s a large collection by Redbalifrog standards, consisting of ten new pieces. There are two locks, one pendant, two spacers (but please note these are not stoppers,) one dangle and four beads. One of the locks is also brass which is fabulous news for those of you who have enjoyed this finish.

Beginning with the locks. The Redbalifrog Moon Face Lock is launching in brass and silver. The brass version retails at $46 while the silver is $65. Like all Redbalifrog locks they’re compatible with the Trollbeads bracelets as well as their own branded chains. These are chunky, substantial locks with beautiful detailing. I’ve always found the small ends of the Redbalifrog clasps a little tricky to open and these are no different but the larger ends are very user friendly.

These stunning locks in Brass and Silver, for your Celestial bracelets. Each lock has hand carved bone inserts of Moon Faces on both sides of the lock.

The dangle bead is the new Redbalifrog Rocket Ship and this is such an amazingly nostalgic design. It’s retailing at $33.

A 1950’s style spacecraft designed with thoughts of flying into outer space.

The new pendant is the Redbalifrog Mother Universe Pendant and this is a substantial piece in terms of size rather than weight. It’s retailing at $46.

Our Mother Universe Pendant is hand carved from bone with a silver tip and ring, each piece completely individual. May she watch over and protect you.

The first of the beads is by far my favourite and is the Redbalifrog Star Sputnik. It’s retailing at $37 which feels ludicrous when you hold the piece in your hand as it’s a heavy bead though not overly large. It’s adorned with stars which continues the slightly nostalgic vibe of the collection and has small raised silver antenna. These have been rounded off so they shouldn’t cause issues with clothing and I haven’t found the bead uncomfortable to wear on a bangle.

On October 4, 1957, Sputnik1 successfully launched and entered Earth’s orbit. Thus, began the space age. The successful launch shocked the world, giving the former Soviet Union the distinction of putting the first human-made object into space.

The Redbalifrog Alien Skull is retailing at $44 and again this is a large bead with amazing details. It’s by far the most accurate portrayal of the most common visualisation of an alien.

In outer space beyond the stars, where asteroids collide, the darkness rules and the unknown prevails, maybe?

The Redbalifrog Earth bead is retailing at $37 and is lighter and smaller than the Alien Skull or Star Sputnik. It feels similar to the Redbalifrog Luna Moon in it’s design and it’s easy to see that they’re designed by the same artist.

The Redbalifrog Sun & Moon Kiss delivers the romantic side of the night sky. It’s retailing at $44 which again feels low for what is a heavy piece and it complements the new locks beautifully.

The new Redbalifrog Empty Spacers are simple, elegant and actually incredible useful. I’ve not only used them successfully in framing focal pieces but also for creating some quite contemporary feeling bangles. It does need to be stressed however that these are spacers in the traditional sense and not stoppers. The brass version is retailing at $16.50 while the silver is $26.

Redbalifrog Celestial Bodies Summary

I mention that this is a really beautifully curated collection of beads and I firmly believe that. When I think of the night sky it conjures different facets. The romantic side of me always prevails and I see shooting stars, a beautiful full moon and the dancing lights of the aurora. The Redbalifrog Sun & Moon Kiss and new Moon Face Locks perfectly capture that dreamlike fascination so many of us share for a perfect night sky.

There’s then the more scientific aspect of pondering what’s actually out there. There’s still so much of the universe we know nothing about. Indeed it’s only in the last few weeks that NASA confirmed traces of organic life on Mars. I’ve always sat firmly on the side of the argument that while it’s fascinating to consider other lifeforms out there, it might also be better we don’t go searching too hard. (Let’s not poke the scary things with a big stick.) The new Redbalifrog Alien Skull is ideal for that style of bracelet.

Finally comes the Sputnik Star and Rocket Ship both of which have the most brilliant nostalgic vibe honouring some of the progress we have made towards space exploration. There is something so endearing about these two pieces.

In summary the Redbalifrog Celestial Bodies collection is beautiful. It offers the amazing value for money that the brand are known for whilst still delivering predominantly large and heavy pieces of silver. There’s also a lot of existing designs that work so seemlessly with this collection. If you’re shopping today do consider the likes of Luna Moon, Star Bright and UFO.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the new Redbalifrog Celestial Bodies collection and will you be indulging? Hit the comments and let me know!

Once again our individual tastes coincidence. The Sputnik got me too right away 🙂

Though, the Mother Universe will most likely be a Christmas present for a certain person.

Sputnik is amazing 😀 I know some might not like the antenna but I’ve had no issues with it and I love the design 😀

    Hi Victoria,
It’s such a beautiful collection- wow! I would say that my favourite would be Sputnik- it’s just so eye catching and charming. Then maybe the Sun and Moon, so romantic, then the cute Rocket. Love the retro vibe, swoon 🙂

Thank you for the great photos Victoria! 😀 My favorite (right now, anyway) is the Alien Skull! Not for a Night Sky bracelet, but more for a Halloween/Skull/Memento Mori theme.

      You are most welcome!

The Alien Skull is definitely creepy enough for that. There’s definitely no cute edge to that bead. It’s a *really* good size too 😀

These are really great. I love the our mother universe. The clasps are gorgeous. Are they a shorter length than the troll clasps in gneral? Do you find a bracelet tighter on the wrist with it? I may have to take that chance 🙂

I ordered from Great Lakes Friday morning & received my package yesterday. Shipped at light speed!
Alien Skull is my favorite followed by Sputnik & Sun & Moon Kiss & Rocket ship & the Moonface lock.
OK maybe I like them all! 🙂 They are awesome!
