Pandora’s Limited Edition Purple Zebra and Withdrawl of the Cloudy Leopard

While Troll collectors are all abuzz with the images from Trollbeads fall 2012 collection and the Spirituality release, many Pandora fans are still trying to secure their own limited edition purple zebras. Here is the latest update on the situation in the UK.

The lovely Jo emailed me late last week to inform that the Pandora limited edition Purple Zebra has definitely seen a more widespread UK release with many local stores now having received their stock. I’ve had a browse at online Pandora retailers based in the UK and so far I can’t find anyone with current stocks. (It’s worth noting at this point that Argento have now sold out.) As such, I’d recommend that any UK collectors keen to grab a limited edition Purple Zebra try contacting their local retailers to establish who has stock of this coveted animal print charm.

At this stage, no mainland European retailers have stock though according to Pandora, it will see a release here. As always, I’ll attempt to keep the blog as up to date as possible with the situation and with any online retailers receiving supplies. If you haven’t yet signed up as an email subscriber, please do so as it’s the fastest and most reliable way to receive updates. (The subscribe buttons are all in the right hand side bar —>)

DANGER! Mutant Leopard Terrorises Pandora Retailers!

Many collectors are undoubtedly aware that certain variations of the Pandora Clouded Leopard from the animal print collection (Tame the Wild) have been recalled. There was a “problem” with the colouring of some of these muranos. The below stock image shows how the charm should look:-

A mutant gene has resulted in a yellow spot version of the Pandora Clouded Leopard. This mutated leopard has now been recalled to Pandora. As tends to be the case, this merely serves to increase the popularity of the charm and collectors everywhere have been attempting to secure their mutant leopard. The below image, kindly provided by Jo Fayerty shows the rare yellow-spotted leopard in company with the limited edition Purple Zebra.

These yellow spot muranos have already been recalled in the United States and their fate in the UK seems the same. Those specifically seeking this version of the Pandora Clouded Leopard should contact retailers directly to ask about their stock.

Pandora posted a comment on Facebook about the Purple Zebra Murano now being available in Germany, Austria and Switzerland on July 19th. I went to my local Pandora store a couple of days later and bought two. There were 5 or 6 on the tray, so I don’t know if they are really that limited. Some of them are a really dark shade of purple, almost black.

Mine sounds totally different to that. Mine is a very bright purple, absolutely no where near to black in colour.

Switzerland, Germany and Austria would explain why they haven’t shown up here in Denmark :(

      Hi Carol :)

I think I got most of this earlier via Facebook but yes, there have been the “original” and “intended” colour variation around in the masses. You can see it here on Perlen’s site:- http://perlenodense.com/products/297-pandora—animal-prints/8254-pandora—python/ (I know it says Python – it’s not)

Perlen’s first batch of Pandora animal print had numerous of the mutant or defect Cloudy Leopards sporting yellow spots instead of the brown. These were all sold very quickly and they have never received more mutant versions.

The UK received a large batch but Pandora have officially begun recalling them and are asking shops to return their stock. Many are being snapped up by customers though ;)

Hope that helps, I know it’s all rather confusing at the moment :P

Hi Michelle, I don’t know if you are still selling your “mutant” leopard, but I’d be interested. Would you mind letting me know if you still have it?

I actually got a mutant leopard one for my bday! The yellow doesn’t match my bracelet though so I think I will try to sell it.

      Hi :)

Welcome to my blog and thank you for taking the time to comment.

A lot of people went crazy for the mutant leopards so I don’t think you’ll have problems selling it. Make sure you’re 100% sure though because the mutants were very few and now incredibly rare! :D

      Happy New Year :D

      Kind Regards
      Victoria
