Pandora Valentine’s Day 2014 Preview

Today sees the official debut of the Pandora Valentine’s Day 2014 collection. In celebration of the new release, this Pandora jewellery blog article brings a complete preview of this romantic series.

While the Pandora Valentine’s Day 2014 collection appeared in some stores at the start of January, the official global launch is next week. Suitably the collection is underpinned with hearts and romantic motifs and characterised with pink sparkle. I’ve heard mixed opinions from some collectors but I believe some of the designs are utterly exquisite. What follows is a complete preview of the Pandora Valentine’s Day 2014 release. Please note that as per my agreement with Pandora I don’t generally show pre-release stock images any further. Permission for an early preview kindly came from the brand themselves. At present I only have the retail prices for the US market but it does offer an indication for other regions at least.

Pandora Valentine’s Day 2014 Charms

I’ll admit that when I first saw the early leaked images, the Pandora Figure Skater charm confused me. I assumed that perhaps it comprised part of the Pandora Spring 2014 release and the image had been mixed in by mistake. Nevertheless it’s debuting as part of the Valentine’s Day 2014 release and considering Pandora’s support for the sport, it’s an incredibly apt piece. The Pandora Figure Skater has a recommended retail price of $35.

The Pandora Love Note is my favourite piece from this new release. I adore the design which boasts a good degree of detailing. The charm opens out like a greeting card and I adore the carved rose hanger. The Pandora Love Note will retail at $50.

My second favourite from the collection is the Pandora Gift from the Heart. This is somewhat reminiscent of the upcoming Pandora Club 2014 Charm with it’s reticulated lid on a miniature jewellery box. Inside nestles a tiny gold engagement ring, making it a perfect gift for those planning to propose on Valentine’s Day. The Pandora Gift from the Heart will retail at $65.

Remaining with the duo-tone charms comes the Pandora Cupid with his gold tipped arrow. It’s worth noting that in the US market, this charm is distributed exclusively through the Jared’s chain.

Of the final three dangle charms comes the Pandora Love, You & Me and the Pandora Interlocking Love. It’s worth mentioning that Interlocking Love is a concept store exclusive in the USA. For the rest of the world, the charm should be available via any authorised retailer. You & Me is reminiscent of the Mother & Son and Mother & Daughter charms that have preceded it. In contrast to the aforementioned charms. The Pandora Interlocking Love retails at $50, the Love Dangle at $45 and the You & Me at $75.

No Valentine’s release would be complete without a splash of pink. The Pandora Shimmering Heart is among my favourites. It will make a stunning complement to the existing pavé charms but with additional pink heart detailing. The Pandora Shimmering Heart has a recommended retail price of $70.

The Pandora Love is All Around will team beautifully with the Shimmering Heart but ideal for those that love the pink but perhaps not the pavé. Love is All Around will retail at $65.

The Pandora Space in My Heart pink spacer will also complement the above two charms. For those who avoid pink, it debuts with clear zirconia also. The Pandora Space in my Heart retail at $35.

The Pandora Surrounded by Love boasts delicate violet stones, spelling out love across the circumference of the charm. Surrounded by Love has a recommended retail price of $55.

Finally the Pandora Sparkle of Love is an updated version of the familiar Pandora puffy heart charm. It’s adorned with tiny cubic zirconia, offering a touch more sparkle. In the USA this charm is sold exclusively as part of a bracelet gift set. In the UK proceeds from this charm will be donated to the British Heart Foundation. Here it has a recommended retail price of £45.

The Pandora Love Locket has a very simple exterior but opens to unveil a tiny dangling heart nestled inside. It has a retail price of $150.

Finally the new Pandora Pavé Heart Bracelet is a beautiful option for stacking with a traditional charm bracelet. Unfortunately I don’t yet have a stock image for this bracelet so apologies for the quality of the image below.

Pandora Valentine’s Day 2014 Summary

I think the Pandora Valentine’s Day 2014 collection is a predictably pretty release from Pandora. I’d like to stress that I don’t mean predictable in a bad way, rather they’ve embodied everything I would expect from such a release. There’s a good dash of sparkle, lots of pink and everything is underpinned by hearts and flowers. Many of the pieces will not look strange beyond Valentine’s Day either and in that sense they’ve delivered versatility as well as seasonal themes. I’ll admit I’m struggling to decide precisely what I want from this release, though I’m erring towards the Valentine’s Note.

For those curious regarding the gift sets, I’ll detail those more next week when the collection debuts.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the Pandora Valentine’s Day 2014 release? Which pieces are you coveting and have you made a priority list? Are you preferring to wait for the Pandora Spring 2014 collection? Hit the comments and let me know!

Hey Victoria! Thanks for the photo’s in detail! Will the cupid be with rose gold? It looks a lot like normal gold :(.
    Hope you are feeling better!

      Hi Farah,

The stock image I have definitely shows yellow gold. Still feeling icky but I think I’m slightly improved – thank you for asking <3

      Kind Regards
      Victoria

    Glad you’re feeling better, Victoria!

These are pretty! I can see a few of them on my 2014 Valentine bracelet next to my Trollbeads Valentine murano! Sparkle of Love, Love is all around, it’s an interesting purply-pink combination this year – I wouldn’t have thought of it but I’m liking it with the TB’s murano, and some black in there – as with Beth’s sample bracelet!!

It’s an extremely pretty release. I know the feedback from some of the community hasn’t been great. I think some find it over the top girly. For me though, if you’re going to do a pink, sparkly release then it has to be for Valentine’s Day. If you sweep the pink away for a second, there are some beautiful pieces in regards to their detailing. The stand out for me is the Valentine’s Day Card. It’s a cute design in the way it opens – slightly nostalgic and reminiscent of very old charm bracelets for me. The rose detailing on the hanger is stunning though!

I must admit I’m also very drawn to Shimmering Heart (could it be more girly?) The only thing is that I think I’d need two on a bracelet or bangle and I can’t afford that at present.

All in all I think Pandora have done themselves proud!

      /hugs

    Hi Victoria!
    Hope you are feeling better!
The Pandora Valentine’s Day 2014 collection is extremely sweet for me, so far TB looks more dangerous for my budget.

It is sugary sweet and people will either love it or groan a little I think ;) I think it’s super pretty but I do tend to like pink.

The Trollbeads spring release is just delicious, an incredibly strong release from them I think!

      Kind Regards
      Victoria

  4. Alexandra

Looks like i’m second type. I like pink as a color just to much glee for me. How many collections in 2014 will Pandora have?

    • endangeredtrolls

      Hi Alex,

To date the releases expected for Pandora as are as follows:-

Chinese New Year – January 9th
      Valentine’s Day – January 15th
      Spring – March 17th
Mother’s Day – Date unknown but probably mid February for the UK and then March / April for the rest of the world.
      Summer – Date TBC
      Fall – Date TBC
Winter / Christmas – Date TBC

There’s no Danish charity charm again this year, rather they’re donating a % of proceeds from concept store purchases made in Denmark.

      Hope that helps :)

Some pretty pieces here, my favourites are the twist of fate ring and Love note. Yet more to add to the wish list!

      Just had samples arrive!!!

Sitting down in a short while with a cup of tea and going to have a good nosy :D Some very pretty pieces but I can’t decide what I personally should have. I’m limited to a single piece and while I love some of the sparkling charms, I think I’d need multiples for them to really work for me. Everything needs to fit with what I already have.

What do you think of the Love Note sweetie? More to the point, do you think it would be weird on quite a gothic bracelet? I have my black and pave Pandora bracelet with some oxidised pieces. It has a pave heart at it’s centre and I actually like that.. kind of a gothic romance vibe you know? So.. I love this note but is it going to look weird for the rest of the year?

      /hugs

  6. Debbie

Mmmm interesting….. I think because the charm has the roses at the top it might fit into a gothic theme. I too have a darker Pandora bracelet and as there are relatively few charms in the collection that fit I’ve added Lovelinks skulls and roses and rocks n roses charms to my bracelet. The rose detailing looks pretty well oxidised too.

It’s not a good fit, but then none of the charms in this release are very gothic! Love note is a lovely charm, and if it were me, this is the one I would choose from this collection. I totally agree with you that the sparkly ones are best in pairs – it may just be me, but I always feel Pandora bracelets benefit from more symmetry than TB or RBF based bracelets, and the paves are too small to work as a focal bead.

If it doesn’t work on your bracelet, it will look lovely on your bangle ;-)

I wear charms out of season all the time, so the valentine message wouldn’t put me off having this charm on a bracelet or bangle anytime of the year.

The other possibility is Interlocking love. That might balance with the angels wings charms which I think from memory of the pics when you featured your Pandora bracelet is on it?

Anyway, at least you can have a play whilst you’re doing the photography, and I’m sure given your design flair it will click into place when you see the charms in situ :-)

    /hugs

  7. Tracey

Very nice release! Kudos to Pandora.

I agree it is a bit on the girly side, but I’m a girly kind of girl ;) even if I’m nearing the half century mark. :D

The Gift from the Heart is a must have for sure. The cupid is quite sculpted and well designed.

I wish that they would have introduced a new and improved murano. ;)

    Thanks for another great review!

    • endangeredtrolls

Isn’t it lovely? It’s been criticised by some fans for being overly sparkly and pink but honestly, it’s for Valentine’s Day!

Gift of the Heart is lovely. I have a review of that planned for next week. The Shimmering Heart is also a much softer rose pink than the stock images suggest. These portray it as a real Barbie pink and it’s not! It’s far more delicate!

      Kind Regards
      Victoria
