This jewellery blog article offers an in depth preview of the first part of the Pandora spring 2013 collection, characterised by cherry blossoms, fairy tales and airs of romance. High resolution images, product codes and prices are included where possible.
The Pandora spring 2013 collection has been split into two distinct releases. The first part, which is being previewed here, is set to see it’s initial launch in the US and Canadian market on March the 15th. There’s no current confirmation of an exact UK and EU release but I’m guessing it to be around the same date. The UK is, however, set to receive the Pandora Mother’s Day 2013 collection on the 22nd of February, far earlier than any other market and thanks to it’s early celebration of Mothering Sunday.
The Pandora summer 2013 collection seems likely to make it’s initial appearance in June.
The first part of the Pandora collection is characterised by cherry blossoms, fairy tales and airs of romance in typical spring like style. In addition and showing a continuation on a popular theme come more new pavé designs. Please note the product names as those featured for the American market. As is often the case, the UK market may feature entirely different names (or none at all.) Product codes are included throughout for the sake of clarity.
Over the past few weeks Pandora have hosted a number of presentations in particular markets where select members of the press and bloggers were invited. Live images in this article have been provided by Fashion Tweed and Stereotypically Me.
Pandora Spring 2013 Fairy Tales
This series offers the most appeal for me. Many regular readers already know of my love for fairy tales and nursery rhymes so there’s little wonder at the appeal.
The first charm is the new Once Upon a Time and this charm was gifted on a starter bracelet to the bloggers that attended one recent unveiling in Germany (pictures of this at the end.) This charm has a recommended retail price of £30 or $40.
This charm was gifted to the bloggers attending the Pandora blogger’s lunch in Vienna, complete with a silver barrel clasp chain. The image below was kindly provided by Stereotypically Me.
The second of the themed charms is the duo-tone Song Bird and a second “must have” for me. Aside from the actual theme, this charm appears to boast a lot of detailing. It’s slated for a retail price of £50 or $65.
The third charm is the Enchanted Mouse which is highly suggestive of the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party in Alice in Wonderland (coincidentally a story I adore!) This charm has a recommended retail price of £30 or $40.
The Frog Prince charm is another duo-tone addition to the collection featuring a cute frog with a gold crown. This charm will retail at £55 or $95.
The Easter Bunny charm comes complete with a bag of eggs on his back and makes a perfect addition to a holiday bracelet. This cute little charm will retail at £30 or $40.
The charm below is My Princess (which is also printed around the hanger in beautiful script.) The charm contains a subtle cubic zirconia to add just a hint of sparkle and I suspect this will be a must have for many of the lovers of the Pandora crown charm (which includes myself!) This charm has a recommended retail price of £40 or $45
The Happily Ever After makes up the final fairy tale themed charm and sees yet another duo tone design. This is another “must have” for me and it’s set to retail at £65 or $75.
Aside from the charms, a number of other jewellery items fall into the fairy tale series for spring 2013. For the Pandora Christmas 2012 collection, the stunning Crown charm made it’s debut. In light of it’s popularity, Pandora are releasing a crown pendant and stud earrings also. Both are silver but feature clear cubic zirconia detailing. The pendant will retail at £85 or $95 and the stud earrings at £35 or $45.
Stereotypically Me managed to snap a lovely image of the new Pandora Crown pendant as shown below.
Next comes a new concept in modular earring design featuring earring hoops with freshwater pearl detailing and pendants to hold pavé charms. The hoops themselves cost £15, the pendant cost a further £10 and then finally comes the cost of the pavé charm of choice.
A new pavé charm launches with the first part of the Pandora spring collection and these seem designed to work with the new earring concept. The charm is available in three initial colour options; clear, black or pink and will retail at £45 or $55. In the US market it will be marketed as the Pandora Leading Lady charms.
Also part of the fairy tale series comes new rings. The first, pictured below, boasts a lattice style design with sparkling cubic zirconia and is set to retail at £50.
Both the following rings are designed to be a compliment to the My Princess charm. The first ring features the same focal detail of the charm and is set to retail at £40 or $50.
The second ring featured below lacks the focal feature but more than makes up for this with additional cubic zirconia spanning the entire ring. The latter ring is set to retail at £55 or $65.
Stereotypically Me captured a lovely image of the new rings, shown below.
Also debuting with the spring collection are fairy tale themed earrings. The first pair of earrings and by far my favourite feature the same design from the My Princess charm and transfers it into an intricate stud earring. These have a recommended retail price of £35 or $45.
The second pair are slightly more traditional looking featured a rose coloured fresh water pearl. These earrings will retail at £40 or $50. The same tiara detailing is apparent on the actual hanger.
Pandora Spring 2013 Cherry Blossoms
A mini series of cherry blossom themed charms are also making an appearance with this collection. These boast beautiful and characteristically soft pink tones with silver, glass and enamel all represented. Once again in addition to charms come a number of other jewellery pieces.
The new Pandora Cherry Blossom clip is incredibly pretty with it’s pastel enamel detailing. It’s set to retail at £45 or $55 and despite my general dislike of florals, I adore this new piece. For reference a gold version of this design is available as a charm rather than a clip. I don’t have a decent high definition image of it but it will retail at £299.
A new Cherry Blossom murano is also making it’s appearance. Again while florals never tend to appeal to me, most especially glass floral beads, I can’t help but be enchanted by the beautiful soft tone of pink in this glass. It most definitely shows a continued improvement in the standard of Pandora glass charms. It has a recommended retail price of £30 or $35.
As mentioned, a number of miscellaneous cherry blossom themed jewellery pieces are appearing with this collection. First come two pairs of earrings, one stud, one modular, both retailing at £35 or $45.
The stud earrings shown immediately below will also be available in gold but again I lack a decent image. These will retail at £165.
Live images of these from the Pandora blogger’s lunch in Vienna can be seen below.
A complimentary pendant is also available pictured below and will retail at £35.
Two new rings are also set to debut, one quite a slender and succinct design while the other is a large and focal creation that will be perfect for summer. The smaller ring will retail at £35. The larger version has a recommended retail price of £65.
Fashion Tweed managed to capture an image of the new rings as seen below.
There’s also a clear pavé charm featuring a pink cherry blossom design set to launch but this appears likely to make the Pandora summer collection as opposed to the spring.
Pandora Spring 2013 Romance and Bridal
The next theme running through the Pandora spring 2013 collection is that of romance. Here we see new charms, new glass, new earrings and new rings.
First for the preview is the new Pandora Pink Ribbon of Hope charm featuring delicate strands of pink glass encased in an otherwise clear bead. It’s aptly named a perfect soft pink to reinforce the bridal theme. This charm has a recommended retail price of £30 or $35.
An image of this can be glimpsed below, taken from the Pandora blogger’s lunch in Vienna. The image is kindly provided by Fashion Tweed.
The first of the new charms making their debut as part of this theme is the Her Majesty spacer with cubic zirconia detailing. This spacer will retail at £25 or $40.
Next comes the adorably cute Mr & Mrs charm which has an undoubted popularity for those wishing to commemorate their big day. This charm has a recommended retail price of £30 or $40.
The next two charms are both dangle style and also my favourites from within this theme. First is the Bouquet Dangle charm boasting beautiful pink enamel detailing and set to retail at £40. This charm would be perfect for brides-to-be to gift their bridesmaids and maids of honour. Around the hanger is printed the word “celebration” showing further attention to detail.
There is one final murano charm that seems to fit this mini series perfectly. The Red Sweethearts charm has a recommended retail price of £30 or $35 and I’m incredibly surprised that Pandora didn’t attempt to launch this to coincide with Valentine’s Day.
Finally a new silver safety chain makes it’s debut. The Love Connection chain is simple but adorable and is set to retail at £30 or $40.
Pandora Spring 2013 Garden Theme
The first of the garden themed charms is Sweet Strawberry, a vibrant red charm thanks to it’s enamel details. This charm will retail at £40 or $50
The Cherry Clip boasts the same enamel detailing but with a cherry design and is set to retail at £35 or $45.
The final silver garden theme charm is the cute and traditional My Garden and has a recommended retail price of £30 or $40.
It’s worth noting that there is also a gold Butterlies charm in the popular open works style making it’s debut but at present I only have fuzzy low quality images of this. It’s set to retail at £269.
Pandora Spring 2013 Animal Charms
Three new cute animal charms make their debut.
First is the new Lucky Elephant charm with a retail price of £30 or $45.
The next is the new Purrfect Together charm which actually looks to be incredibly detailed. Certainly given that the current feline population of my household is four, I feel rather obliged to indulge in this. It’s recommended retail price is £30 or $45.
The last of the new animal charms is Scottie with again looks quite a detailed creation. It has a recommended retail price of £30 or $45.
Pandora Spring 2013 Passion
Four new passion charm designs are making an appearance for the spring release.
First comes Sheer Perfect and what a sweet ode to the hair dressing profession. This is a charm I’ve seen requested many times so I’m sure this will delight quite a few Pandora collectors. This charm has a recommended retail price of £25 or $35.
Next and a similar ode to the beauty profession is Lovely Locks. This charm is also set to retail at £25 or $35.
The next charm in this mini series is Cheerleader and I apologise for the vile fuzzy image of this. It’s set to retail at £25 or $35.
Finally comes Hearts Aflutter, the most elegant of the passion charms in my opinion.
Pandora Spring 2013 Murano Dangles
Unfortunately I don’t have high resolution images of these charms and this is such a shame as I suspect they’re stunning. They’re highly reminiscent of the Trollbeads limited edition Troll Stones and incredibly apt for both Easter and spring in general. They have a recommended retail price of £35 or $45.
In the image below, provided by Fashion Tweed, you can just about make out the blue Speckled Beauty on the bracelet to the right. For reference, the Pandora Faith, Hope and Charity pendant to the left is available for preview in the Pandora Mother’s Day 2013 article.
Pandora Spring 2013 Summary
This collection was initially leaked months ago but the images were small and grainy and frankly did very little justice to this release. While not everything is to my personal tastes I can appreciate that many of these charms will have massive appeal. I also happen to think areas of this release are absolutely incredible. A number of the new fairy tale themed charms are absolute must haves for me.
I have now seen the entire Pandora summer release and it’s the first Pandora release I’m been ridiculously excited about in quite some time (probably since Nostalgic Rock launched in fact. The summer collection features new bracelet options including a silver bangle and some exquisite triple wrap bracelets in a beautiful array of colours. The Pandora National Icon charms collection sees a revival and there’s a strong beach and travel theme underpinning the entire release.
To reiterate, the Pandora spring 2013 collection is set to launch in the US and Canadian market on March the 15th. The UK and European release has no specific day yet but it should be around this point. The Pandora Mother’s Day 2013 collection will initially launch in the UK on February the 22nd so there’s under two weeks wait for the UK collectors.
As always I’d love to hear feedback on the Pandora spring 2013 collection in light of the far superior high quality images now available, as my initial preview featured quite poor leaked images.
