Pandora Shimmering Heart (Pandora Valentine’s Day 2014 Reviews)

The Pandora Valentine’s Day 2014 collection is typically littered with hearts and sparkles. This Pandora jewellery blog article brings a dedicated review of the Pandora Shimmering Heart.

The Pandora Valentine’s Day 2014 collection is brimming with hearts, pink and sparkle. It’s undoubtedly not to all tastes but it’s also undeniably pretty. I liked quite a lot of the release but struggled a little to incorporate many of the charms into my existing collection.

The Pandora Shimmering Heart or Pandora Heart Pavé Ball Charm as it’s known in the UK manages to combine pink, sparkle and hearts into one tiny package.

Many of the stock images of this charm show the pink heart detailing as being incredibly bright, almost a hot pink in colour.

I was surprised when the charm arrived as it’s a much more delicate and arguably less garish rose shade.

For those interested in the rest of the Valentine’s Day collection, it’s a beautiful complement to the Pandora You & Me charm.

I’ll confess that I don’t have a large amount of pink within my Pandora collection and have been focused more on my gothic romance bracelet, pictured below.

Considering this I opted to use it as a focal charm on the lovely Pandora Bangle and stacked it with my Pandora Essence Bracelet.

To fully embrace the pink I decided to experiment with some further combinations, including the Trollbeads Be My Valentine, my Rebeligion pink leather bracelet and my latest Nomination My BonBons bracelet.

A number of my readers love collecting nail varnishes and others just enjoy dabbling. I’m a huge fan of trying to coordinate my nail varnish to my bracelets. I opted for a predominantly silver manicure with a focal nail boasting fabulous pink glitter. For reference the sparkle is courtesy of Essie’s A Cut Above.

Pandora Shimmering Heart Summary

This is such a pretty charm and if ever there is a time to consider pink sparkling hearts, it has to be Valentine’s Day. The pink is much more delicate than stock images suggest so if you’ve been deterred by the specific shade, I’d encourage you to consider viewing the charm first.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the Pandora Shimmering Heart and indeed the entire Valentine’s Day 2014 collection? Have you indulged in any of the charms? Hit the comments and let me know!

That’s weird about your stock image – all the stock pictures here in the UK show it as the normal pink colour. :/ I’ve not seen one that looks as luminous as yours!

    Beautiful photos as ever!

Victoria…I love this bead; it’s definitely on my wishlist (I’ll probably put it on my Family bracelet to express love-love-love).

It’s so interesting to observe the wide range of tastes in the bead jewelry market; from girly-girly to gothic and dark, and everything in between. I tend to hop all over the place; Frightlings are irresistible to me, as are some of the more stereotypically “feminine”-looking beads such as Chamilia’s Q1 release and this Pandora bead from your post. I also can’t resist Disney/fairytale beads/collections…or anything with a whimsical, escapist, or exotic type of theme. Trollbeads spring release is just too compelling for me to pass by; I don’t currently have a Trollbeads collection, but will be participating in their perfectly-timed promo of a free bracelet with purchase of a clasp. Those gorgeous glass beads are ridiculously addictive to me, as are many of Redbalifrog’s silvers (gotta have Aladdin’s Lamp!).

Like I said…my tastes are pretty varied. That’s the fun of bead/bracelet collecting: indulging in so much variation, depending on current mood and interest.

Btw…your nails look very pretty. Take care…

It is a super pretty charm Kim! I’m sure you won’t be disappointed with it at all 🙂

I also hop around quite a lot with my jewellery. I have a very strong sense of style when it comes to my clothes. I know exactly what I want there. I wear a lot of leather, I love ripped denim and printed jeans. I tend to go for pieces with heavy zips or stud work – everything a little rock-chic. My jewellery on the other hand darts around all over the place. I have a lot of very gothic pieces that I cherish enormously but then I have a lot of girly stuff at the opposite end. I love pink just not as much in my clothes! (I did have pink stripes in my hair for a while though.)

What wonderful timing for you with the Trollbeads bracelet promotion. Have you selected a lock yet? Trollbeads do by far the best glass beads on the market so I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. A tiny word of advice though. If you like the limited edition Trollbeads Valentine’s Day bead (Be My Valentine,) it’s sold out in some stores now and there are no more at the US distributor so grab that one quickly! 😀

The highlight for me here is your nails! Divine! I love the one pink with the silver. Lovely! I definitely have to do something like that for valentine’s day week.

I must admit after seeing Pandora’s valentine release, and also seeing your recent blogs on other valentine designs and beads, I opted for two other pave valentine beads – Chamilia’s new Pave Open Heart, and Pandora’s previous pave pink blossom. So I’m kinda done for Feb 14th – with two valentine bracelets going – one more modern and artsy, and one very girly, pink and sparkly.

I guess like Kim7, I love so much! Bead ecstasy! Cash poor, budget for what i really want, and admire and enjoy the rest on your blog!

Aaaw thank you Faye. I *love* having the time to sit down and actually care for my nails. Since I’m outdoors so often, it’s easy to neglect them I must admit but I feel better about myself if I try and keep them neat. Plus it’s just fun to match nails to bracelets I think 😉

I really liked this charm but I struggled to use it I think. I didn’t really have many Pandora charms to team with it though I like the stacked combination with the Trollbeads Bangle and the Nomination bracelet particularly 😀

Hi again, Victoria…in answer to your question about which lock I want, I’ve always really liked the Small Flower lock. I also love the Big Flower lock, but I think it might almost be too big for my wrist; plus, it either makes the chain hang looser on the wrist, or you have to go down a size. Do you think that would reduce available space for beads? (I *do* like to pack my bracelets; I should probably try to retrain myself in that regard). That’s what makes me hesitate with the various bangles available from different brands: aren’t they intended for just a few focal beads? While I like that idea in theory…I know it’ll be an angst-fest with me sweating which beads to leave off, and which are must-haves at any given time. One question: the new Chamilia Brilliance bangle from the Q1 release…it’s described by Chamilia (on their official site) as being oval in shape, to sit more naturally on the wrist. It almost looks like it’d be fine to put more than just a few beads on it – as if loading it up more wouldn’t make it awkward or uncomfortable. Any thoughts on that?

Thanks for the advice about the Be My Valentine Trollbeads release; of course I *want* it…but what else is new? Like Faye so eloquently put it: I’m in “bead ecstasy”!!! I need to get my mind off of this for a minute or two…I think it can get almost a little overwhelming for me (but such a nice way to feel overwhelmed, yes?).

    Take care, Ladies…
