The Palace of Amber Oriental Lion Preview

This charm bracelet blog brings a live image preview as The Palace of Amber Oriental Lion debuts.

Those of you who follow The Palace of Amber on social media likely saw the Oriental Lion at the start of the year. The feedback on this design was incredibly popular and since then we’ve had so many queries about when they would arrive.

Today The Palace of Amber Oriental Lions have finally arrived at Great Lakes Boutique and the first batch are live! Though I’m hoping to play with these a little more in the coming days, what follows is an initial live image preview for those of you who have been waiting.

The Palace of Amber Oriental Lion

Traditionally oriental lions were used in pairs to safeguard structures. Though they originated in Imperial China they spread to much of Asia and I think it’s safe to say they’re really iconic of the region.

They weigh in at 8g and are a good size. The detail on these beads is incredible though. Though it’s easy to be impressed with the intricate details around the head and face, it’s also worth paying attention to the smaller areas such as the feet and claws. They’ve all been very crisply executed. The lions have a collar which includes a small bell. It’s worth noting there are actually two versions of this bead. One is all silver and retails at $98. The second has a gold bell and retail at $118. The bells make a very slight sound when the bead is moved around. The stone of course is a labradorite. Some of them are flashy, some less so but honestly it’s the silver work in this bead that really captures the attention anyway.

Hi, yes we have a few but I haven’t gotten them up yet. I’ll try and do it tomorrow morning but if you’re happy to buy one blind then just drop me an email at victoria@greatlakesboutique.net. I do have photographs of it from my iphone 🙂 I will say there’s no strong flash on the gold ones but the gold bell is a very nice touch 🙂
