Ohm Beads Wood-Ent Review

This Ohm Beads blog brings a dedicated review of the recently launched Ohm Beads Wood-Ent

The Ohm Beads Wood-Ent debuted back in May and though it was a stand alone design as opposed to being part of a larger collection, it’s been one of my favourite Ohm Beads to date during 2018. He felt apt for spring and a more unpredictable fashion than the usual floral beads and I appreciate that. He retails at $60 and is not a limited edition design.

Ohm Beads Wood-Ent

The Wood Ent is a beautifully detailed piece that makes a great focal feature on a bracelet or bangle. For those of you who use Trollbeads chains, do be aware that the core of this bead is large enough for the large ring to pass through entirely. If you’re going to use him on the end, perhaps consider adding a spacer to the bracelet.

Though I usually dislike humanoid faces in silver, I don’t have the same issue with the Wood-Ent. Actually he has a rather tranquil, knowing expression; like he understands everything life is about and is at peace with that. Actually he rather looks as I feel a wise old soul should.

When it came to creating a bracelet to home the Wood-Ent I wanted earthy colours and organic materials without stepping too much into the depths of autumn. I struggle with paler colours for summer anyway and find it increasingly difficult on bracelets with a forest or nature theme. I included a couple of the Trollbeads Wings of Amber which has lightened the pallete considerably. The bracelet uses the True Beadz True Wood beads. I’ve always loved wooden beads and these are the best I’ve personally encountered. Aside from that I’ve included some Trollbeads Labradorites as one of my favourite stones. If you have yet to see the newest batches of these please do take a look here. My earliest labradorites are all predominantly green and finding flash was rare. These newest batches are incredibly flashy and are available in both translucent and opaque. They’ve been absolutely amazing. Lastly there’s a single unique by way of one of the bugs from early 2018. Sadly there were very few of these in circulation.

The silver beads were all selected for their forest theme. I also included the amazing Redbalifrog Tree Branch Lock.

Ohm Beads Wood-Ent Summary

As a fan of the fantasy genre (though I’m currently giving myself sleepless nights reading horror,) I was always going to love this bead. I’d still like multiples to create my own wood-ent army but that’s a more long term project. As ludicrous as it may sound with the weather many are enjoying, in another few weeks we’ll be heading into August and slowly begin to see hints and trickles of the autumn collection. Though the Ohm Beads Wood-Ent debuted for spring, he’ll be a perfect fall focal bead.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the Ohm Beads Wood-Ent? Did you indulge in this design? Hit the comments and let me know!

Not a fan of the Woodland fantasy theme and definitely do not like the featured Wood-Ent but over all you have created a beautiful bracelet. Has me thinking of doing something similar with a Garden fantasy theme. Have you seen Bead Fairy as yet could she work in place of the Ent ?

The addition of the Redbalifrog silvers especially the lock plays so well with the whole bracelet. Reminded me that the RBF Green Man and Tree Branch lock are on my list of Fall must have , so impressive in size and detail .

    Hi πŸ™‚

Yes I don’t see why she wouldn’t work and she’s quite a large and focal bead. She’s not personally for me just because of the face thing so she probably won’t feature here but she’d be well suited to a garden bracelet I think πŸ™‚

Lordy, you can handle Ents face and find it tranquil, while I think nightmarish thus he scares the stuffing out of me πŸ™‚.
Happy Independence Day for the USA. Can’t believe it’s already July it has really snuck up on me, have been so busy that I did not even make a bracelet for Independence Day
It’s times like this when I am grateful for Bangles a Red ,White and Blue bead a couple stoppers and good to go.

Love the bracelet. Love Wood ent! But I have a thing for trees so it would only be natural. I loved the ents in Lord of the Rings too. Right now I have him flanked by the green tree beads and wood beads and a few flower beads. More of a summer meadow vibe. I think he would look great with the apple. I have lots of fall colors so he will ease right in to autumn as well.
