Ohm Beads Sunflowers Review

This Ohm Beads blog brings a dedicated review of the upcoming Ohm Beads Sunflowers, now available for pre-order.

Yesterday saw the unveiling of the new Ohm Beads Sunflowers, launching globally on April the 3rd. It’s essentially a new addition to the existing flowers collection and is consistent in size, style and feel. It’s not a limited edition and it will retail at $45 or €43. It’s also designed to work on either a bracelet or a ball necklace so it delivers a lot of versatility.

No matter what I think about a design from previews, the true test for me is always how much I wear it. I’m not a flowery sort of girl. I have allergies. I’m not a huge fan of summer. Theoretically the Ohm Beads Flower Collection should never have appealed to me. Though I don’t tend to style them on traditional floral bracelets, I have used these beads so often! With that in mind I was happy to see a new addition to the line. Ahead of it’s April launch, here’s some more images.

Given what I’ve mentioned above, my knowledge of flowers isn’t good. I can identify the obvious specimens such as roses or lilies. The latter is actually my favourite flower but as they’re lethal to cats (and cats liking to stick their faces anywhere they shouldn’t,) I don’t generally have them around. The Sunflowers is very easily identifiable though and it’s detailing is good. The entire flower series are a little larger than the average Ohm Beads silver which tend to run smaller than brands such as Trollbeads.

Here’s a comparison between the entire set so as you can see, if you enjoyed the earlier designs I think you’re certain to like this bead.

I agonised a little over how to style this bead. I wanted to use yellows and browns but it felt a little close to the bracelet I created for the Ohm Beads Year of the Dog review (pictured below.)

Instead I opted for a favourite of mine; Trollbeads Amber Uniques. I combined these with some of the True Beadz True Wood beads and amber is absolutely dazzling in the sunshine. The inclusions also felt appropriate for sunflowers. Notable inclusions are the new No Evil: Sheep (because they’re adorable) and the upcoming Bunny Angel.

Ohm Beads Sunflowers Pre-Orders

Pre-orders started yesterday but do remember retailers don’t have to offer these. Below you’ll find a list of my retail partners.

Ohm Beads Sunflowers Summary

I suspect I will ultimately use this bead as much as it’s counterparts. I like spherical silvers not only because they’re comfortable but they bring a level of consistency to a bracelet that works well for my OCD. I find them neat, tidy and elegant. Despite the fact I’ve always loved the Trollbeads Flower of the Month series, their more eclectic shapes don’t work as well for me.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the Ohm Beads Sunflowers and have you pre-ordered it? Hit the comments and let me know!

Like this charm but thankfully it is not limited as it is a Fall themed bead. I love Flowers, have the other three and doubled up on on the Rose my Garden themed bangles and bracelets are full but not getting this till July -August.
