Ohm Beads Seeded Fig Review

This Ohm Beads blog brings a dedicated review and inspiration for the Ohm Beads Seeded Fig, part of the first batch of limited edition CustOhms.

Last night at Great Lakes Boutique we listed our latest stock of the new Ohm Beads CustOhms. For those who have missed the details on these beads, they’re limited edition glass created in batches. These batches will change and indeed the second set of glass are due to ship to retailer around the middle of September.

I’ve been having a lot of fun experimenting with these new glass designs and it’s great to see the shortage of Ohm glass over. From batch one the Seeded designs are my personal favourites and though I initially had a strong preference for a couple of specific shades, that has changed the more I’ve been able to wear them.

Today however I’m sharing inspiration for the colour that initially appealed to me the most; the Ohm Beads Seeded Fig.

Ohm Beads Seeded Fig

Seeded Fig would be best described as a soft grape colour. It’s absolutely lovely. All of the Seeded beads are half a colour and half white. They’re then adorned with gold glitter details and it’s these that make them feel autumnal. I hadn’t realised from the stock images that they are infact glittery.

When I started making this bracelet, I had no idea how much I would love it. Taking this apart is going to be so sad for me as I’m absolutely in love with it. Aside from the Seeded Fig, the other glass are predominantly one of the Trollbeads Christmas Glitter Kit uniques. There’s also a small lilac unique that resembles the Vine of Dreams in there. Obviously there’s a lot of gold on this bracelet, though the lock is the new Redbalifrog Moon Face Lock in the brass (find that here.) Hopefully this helps to show the comparison between brass and gold for anyone interested in substituting.

For those interested in shopping the limited edition CustOhms this weekend, you can do so at Great Lakes Boutique where we’ve posted live images of most of our new delivery. There is variation in these beads. We did exhaust our initial stock rather quickly too.

Ohm Beads Seeded Fig Summary

This is one of, it not the, favourite bracelet I’ve ever made and I hasten to say it’s nicer in “person” than in the images. The Seeded designs work so well with gold or any warmer colours due to those glitter details. They also make them lovely as we head into the new season.

I did mention last night that I’d strongly recommend people to look at the Seeded Dragonfruit and the Seeded Papaya designs too. The colours feel off season but they are so perfect for the holidays!

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the Ohm Beads Seeded Fig and indeed the CustOhms in general? Hit the comments and let me know!

I haven’t ordered any CustOhms because I didn’t like the stock images. I felt they looked a little cheap and not like glass but I just wanted to say these photographs are heavenly!

How did a brand never pick you up? These are superb! The glass look very different to stock pictures.

Is all this gold yours? It’s time to look at Trollbeads gold differently too.

They’re really lovely. Stock images are always bland regardless of the brand so it can be hard to judge a product on them.

The gold are not all mine 🙂 Celestial and Wishing Star are though and I love the Spring Leaves and Mexican Sugar Skull particularly 😀

As for the rest, thank you 🙂 I’m so pleased you like the images and as for brands, I’m happy where I am 😉

Lovely treat to see you photographing Ohm Beads for GLB Victoria. I haven’t purchased a single TrueBeadz bead after you stopped the pictures and keep hoping you’ll be put back on those by Mike. Is there any chance of this? I don’t really buy Ohm

    • Faye_T

Wouldn’t this require there to be True Beadz to photograph in the first place? 😉 From the simple monetary perspective I suspect her time is better spent elsewhere 😉 I do agree it’s nice to see her skills put to use for other lines though. The difference is remarkable!

lol. Sad and true I suppose. Oh well

        • Debbie

I take back what I said. I’m done with that brand.

          • Faye_T

I already commented on the latest True Beadz article, a restock thread Victoria made. Take a look

          • endangeredtrolls

Hey ladies, if you could please contain it to the True Beadz post I’d greatly appreciate it 🙂

  3. Sadie

Beautiful bracelet! Glass and gold alike!

I had heard you had lost your job at GLB :O If not please do more of the live images for Ohm there!!

    • endangeredtrolls

      Hi 🙂

Thank you 🙂 I’m so pleased you like the bracelet.

And no, not true. According to certain areas of bead world, I’ve lost my job two or three times now. The last time apparently everyone knew about it but me. (That’s literally what I was told.) Still here 😛

I wish I had waited for Great Lakes to get stock 🙁 I was told they were for EU stores only and brought mine straight away. I’d wanted matching pairs and have nearly all mismatched 🙁 Even noted it on the order sigh.

Echo what others have said though. Please please do the Ohm photography for Great Lakes in the future!

    • endangeredtrolls

Aw I’m really sorry 🙁 Yes we got our deliveries later than Europe. In case that happens again in the future, yes we’ll be getting CustOhms and yes we’ll be photographing them live 🙂
