Ohm Beads Rebirth

Whenever I get sad I have certain rituals I run through as a form of self protection. I think many of us have comfort foods or things that help reduce our stress levels. One of my “safe places” has always been Harry Potter. My fellow Harry Potter fans can rejoice with me in this bead.

The Ohm Beads Rebirth is a phoenix, complete with blazing tail. The body of the bird hangs underneath the bracelet with the chain running through the wings. This will also ensure it stays the correct way up on the chain. It’s always difficult to accurately grasp size from images alone but this looks to be a substantial and focal bead.

Ohm Beads Rebirth Ordering Details

With a release date of November the 1st, pre-orders are beginning immediately. Do take note there isn’t the very long period of time we’ve become accustomed to.

Ohm Beads Rebirth Summary

This is an interesting choice for a fall bead as I always associate rebirth with the spring season, though the phoenix itself has no seasonal connections. That said after a few years of very deceased turkeys for Thanksgiving, there’s something more than a little humorous about a bird associated with rebirth for 2018. (All hail the risen and promoted Tom the Turkey?)

Ohm have stayed true to it’s depiction of being eagle like and I love the detailing on the tail. As a Harry Potter fan this is really a must have for me.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the Ohm Beads Rebirth? Will you be pre-ordering? Hit the comments and let me know!

Well, I too am a Harry Potter Fan, and I Have to say that is the first thing Imthought of when I saw this bead. Well done OHM. I did hiccup a little at the price, and tend not to buy the higher ticketed BOTM, that being said I checked out your site to see how substantial this charm might be and the detailing before pre-ordering.
This was a must have and as much as I enjoy Turkeys, your comment on the irony of rebirth at Thanksgiving is pretty dead on.

    Cheers!

It didn’t actually hit me until last night. I kept pondering why release a phoenix for fall – when technically everything is dying and hibernating for the winter. But of course.. we’ve had a variety of dead birds for Thanksgiving and now we have a reborn version 😉 It’s rather witty 😉

All that aside it’s also a magnificent Fawkes! 😀

I’m assuming it is also a nod to the fact that Ohm themselves are retiring almost their entire back-catalogue and effectively relaunching with a new bracelet system, so this month is in some ways a rebirth for them.

        • endangeredtrolls

I hadn’t thought of it that way 🙂

It is not very often that I don’t even get to the very end of the article before clicking the pre-order link, but this was one of those! In fact the last time I did so was the October BOTM – Ohm have managed to absolutely throw my budget for a loop, as I thought I’d be safe for Oct and Nov based on previous releases, not being a fan of pumpkin beads or thanksgiving turkeys, but then they come out with two perfect fantasy/ myth/ Harry Potter beads instead!

I have to say I am very upset with Ohm beads at the moment after their appalling treatment of Joseph Welch and by extension Ohm fans in the UK, and their lack of any intimation that they actually care, so I am treading in a cautious, battle-scarred way and being a *lot* pickier about how much of my money I am willing to give them 🙁 In a lot of ways it isn’t the happiest time to be a bead-fan right now, but I’m willing to put a bit of faith in rebirth and hope that we can all rise to be better people.

Rebirth is indeed perfect for the Harry Potter fans. I knew there would be equal amounts of squealing with joy and groaning at the price. Still… Fawkes deserves to be focal size 😉

As for Joseph Welch; I’m going to refrain from any comments simply because only one side of the story was ever aired. I actually don’t believe Ohm should be sharing “their side” as it’s ultimately business. I do feel sorry for the UK collectors though I’m sure the event was still great fun for them.

      • Polly

Totally understand of course – I never expected you to comment, especially as you no longer work with Joseph Welch. I do however hugely appreciate that you provide an unbiased platform for anyone to politely share their opinions, and I couldn’t myself in all conscience make a purely positive comment about Ohm without expressing my negative concerns at the same time. So thank you!

I was sad that I couldn’t manage your beautiful trollbeads gold phoenix (maybe one day…) so at least by comparison with that, this is the ‘cheap’ option! 😀

  3. Andrea U

I love it, but trying to picture it on a bangle …

    • endangeredtrolls

Might be too wide for the curve of a bangle. Of course it depends which bangle and the size.. but just a thought!

  4. Lisa G

I think it’s stunning, and will be buying it.

    • endangeredtrolls

      It is 😀

  5. Martha olavarrieta

Does it fit the new chain?

    • endangeredtrolls

      Yes 🙂

It’s the older threaded beads that don’t fit the new chains. They won’t make anything new that wouldn’t fit them 🙂
