This Ohm Beads blog brings a complete preview of the upcoming Ohm Beads The Office, Bead of the Month for August 2018.

It’s preview day for Ohm Beads and I’ll begin the articles with the next Bead of the Month unveiling. The Ohm Beads The Office is the Bead of the Month for August 2018, which also happens to be their tenth anniversary month. Those of you who follow the Ohm Beads team on social media will have seen something interesting references to the August releases and this is the first unveiling.

The Office is limited to two thousand two hundred and twenty two (2222) pieces and is retailing at $110 or €97. It will launch on August the first but as usual pre-orders begin immediately.

Ohm Beads The Office

This is Bead of the Month number thirty nine and it’s silver. As mentioned this is part of the broader August collection, entitled Ohm Beads Shitty Ohm. The previews for the rest of the release will be in July. Do note the door appears to open and close.

Ohm Beads The Office Summary

Particularly in light of the larger collection name, everyone knows what this bead is. The theme alone means it’s not going to be universally loved. On the other hand it does have certain possibilities.

For those of you who love (or have loved) festivals, it would work well with the likes of Woodstock. For the camping fans, it could be teamed with The Feast (we have a few left at Great Lakes Boutique here,) 60s Hippie Van and perhaps even the new Ohm Beads Celebrate (which could make for a perfect bonfire bead.)

Do note that the base is clearly open so those of you who enjoy wearing the True Beadz Dangle of the Month designs inside the buildings may like this.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the upcoming Ohm Beads The Office and will you be pre-ordering? Hit the comments and let me know!

I think the larger bathroom theme is kind of off-putting, admittedly. Especially for those like me who choose beads based on their symbolism. A bathroom next to the animals and nature I’ve chosen isn’t particularly enticing.

That being said- I think this could be construed as something else, surely, and the size is delightful. I tend to wear a lot of “niche” designs and one thing I love is total oddities, so I will likely purchase this and pair it with trees, leaves, animals, etc. The moving door is also interesting- I love details like that. As long as there’s no toilet in the actual bead, I think it can definitely suit other themes.

    • endangeredtrolls

Yeah.. that’s why I kind of pointed out the options for camping enthusiasts.. festival goers.. I was trying to think of other ways it could be used for people who aren’t going to find themselves endeared to the actual theme 😉

  2. Anita

To me it’s a Garden shed and the perfect home for Wood Ent 🙂 It’s a great bead for Autumn.

    • endangeredtrolls

I’m so glad you’ve found an immediate home for it 🙂

  3. Sorrel

A wee shed with a working door! How cute is that?

Potting shed, Hagrid’s hut, Baba Yaga, woodshed, beach hut, and a welcome sight when travelling in remote areas! This is a great versatile design, I’m off to preorder.

    • endangeredtrolls

So pleased you like it 😀

  4. Jenifer

Laughing so hard I have tears in my eyes!
Looks like there is a hole in the roof so you could wear it on a ball necklace.

    • endangeredtrolls

Can’t confirm that one. There’s nothing in the information that suggests it’s usable on the ball necklace but I could be wrong 🙂

  5. Katie

Ha, ha. I love it. My grandmother’s farm had one. By the time that I was around, it was where they tied up the TV antenna (although it still functioned). It was the only facility on the farm throughout my mother’s childhood years. They were not able to get indoor plumbing at the farm until after WWII, due to the war efforts. So, weirdly, since I absolutely loved my grandparents and loved spending the summer and weekends at the farm, I will definitely get this bead…

    • endangeredtrolls

It’s so nice I think when beads evoke fond memories. Even if they’re a little unexpected 🙂 I’m glad you love it 🙂

      • Katie

Memories of the outhouse keep me grounded. My mother grew up in a house that had no electricity and had an outhouse and she was happy and had a great childhood which she felt lacked nothing. One generation later, I have enough money to buy this bead – on the internet, no less. It is amazing how far that we’ve come. But, also to know that if life gets tough, it is possible to lead a happy life, even with less.

  6. Valerie Bronson

Why is it with dudes everything always comes around back to farts and poop. Welcome to your awesome August theme ladies! Poop !

    • endangeredtrolls

Well, I’m sure some will love it 🙂

  7. Pippa

    Ohm Beads Shitty Ohm

I just can’t. This probably means the poop emoji bead is really happening too,

It’s all too much for me – if they had just stuck to this or the Shit addition to the words collection.

But all together in the heat of August all I can think about is the smell.

(To be fair I now have a condition that heightens my sense of smell – much like can happen during pregnancy – and this is just a trigger for me.)

Really I might have liked this bead but the thought of that emoji bead lying in wait just ruins it for me.
And it doesn’t help this follows right after the “peach” bead…

Please Ohm, can we move on to something else soon.

    • endangeredtrolls

Hopefully it’s just a theme for August and then it’ll be done. I’d love to see something else for August too though.. I mean away from this theme entirely.

  8. Stephanie

I think it’s cute, super detailed and unique. I’m glad they didn’t put a moon cut out on the door because then I it would definitely be an outhouse and nothing more. But since it’s just a cute little wooden shed/house it could be used for all sorts of cool ideas. It could even work for a horror Halloween theme bracelet. It could work for cozy and cute or creepy and abandoned. I’m not sure if I’ll get it since it’s a bit pricey for something I’m not crazy about, but I’m thinking I might regret it later if I don’t get one! I really like the woodland/forest theme idea!

    • endangeredtrolls

Yeah I’m kind of hoping that at least with this bead, those who aren’t enthusiastic about the theme for August will find some additional versatility.

There’s 2222 globally so hopefully you’ll have no issue getting one even if you want to wait a little while 🙂

  9. Mary

At $110US it is expensive and not for me

  10. Lisa G

Better be careful about what you dangle under it, ladies!!

  11. Linda

OMG! He made it! I asked for an outhouse last year, knowing OHM would probably be the only bead company that would even consider it. :). Special Meaning to me because my husband digs antique bottles that were buried in 19th century privies. Not gross, because 100+ years have passed and all “ick” is now just dirt. He has found some amazing glass.
It does look big. I hope not too big. I can’t believe the door opens! lol

    • Lisa G

      Ask and ye shall receive….

    • endangeredtrolls

I’m so pleased for you both 🙂 I hope you love it 🙂

  12. Dawn

This isn’t one I would usually pick but it is very detailed. I have Crohn’s Disease so potty humor is common in my household as it’s easier to laugh about it than cry. It might need to be added to my bracelet with a purple awareness ribbon.

    • endangeredtrolls

What a lovely idea 🙂 And yes I think the detailing is going to be good 🙂 Especially if it’s a slightly larger bead so those details don’t get lost due to tiny size 🙂

  14. Nereida

Just came back from camping; still I don’t need an Outhouse on a bracelet. It could be many other things and it is very detailed. Still, at that price, it isn’t screaming “buy me”. The swinging door is a nice touch. Of course it can just be swinging open and closed and get annoying and it is also a moving part which can therefore break. At that price point I could buy 2 or 3 other beads that I might get more use out of.
