Ohm Beads Luna Collection Preview

This Ohm Beads blog brings a preview of the upcoming Ohm Beads Luna collection for February 2019.

Over the past year Ohm have revisited some of their most iconic designs. On occasion this has been via the BBQ program, other times they’ve been regular sized beads. When I think of really iconic Ohm designs, Luna is high up the list and for February 2019 comes a Luna collection. Fear not, it’s in no way going to step on the toes of the original and there are three individual designs for the collection. The launch date is February the 1st but pre-orders are beginning immediately.

The three individual beads are the Ohm Beads Gibbous Luna ($60,) Ohm Beads Quarter Luna ($55) and Ohm Beads Cresent Luna ($45,) each representing a different phase of the moon.) It’s only a shame these hadn’t launched in time for Sunday’s luna eclipse!

Ohm Beads Luna Collection Summary

I personally find this an interesting take on the luna idea. There’s obviously a plethora of moon beads and charms out there as so many of us are preoccupied with the night sky but of all the potential executions, this never really crossed my mind. I’m looking forward to finding a little bead time for these as I adore sun, moon or star themed beads but the differing sizing of these might be a challenge for me.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the Ohm Beads Luna Collection? Hit the comments and let me know!

I will probably order these. With the regular Luna, they will make a perfect set. I wonder how the four of them would look strung from a Trollbeads necklace. That’s my tentative plan.

I’m ever-hopeful that Ohm will do a Luna 2.0, larger than the regular Luna, but smaller than Big Luna (which I bought and loathe and regret more than any purchase ever).

It’s sort of a shame that they aren’t hollow because maybe a Trollbeads stopper could have gone in each for a necklace 🙂 Though of course then some would complain Ohm were cutting corners with their silver. They are nice designs though I think.

I’m so sorry to hear that you hate your big Luna so much! 🙁 I’m guessing it’s just the size? How have you been wearing it (or not!)

      • Mary

Yeah, it’s the size. I tried it on a longish Trollbeads necklace. Looks and feels like a golf ball on me. Too dramatic a statement. I’m short and small-framed. Less is more for me, generally.

  2. Paula, Gravesend

I love the idea of these but would like to see photos of them on a bracelet. Luna 2.0 would be brilliant as I was so cross with myself for only getting one of the original beads and Big Luna was out of my budget.

I think it’s one they’d need to tackle really carefully due to how much money Luna has exchanged hands for :O I thought this was a clever option for that but who knows what they have planned 😀

  3. Genievre

I love these especially since I missed out on the first Luna.

    • endangeredtrolls

Yay 🙂 So pleased to hear you’re happy – though not that you missed the original 🙁

  4. Noemi

I just made my daughter a solar system blanket. I placed the planets on her blanket similarly to the way they were aligned on the day she was born. (I know totally nerdy!) She was born when a crescent moon was in the sky, so I will be getting the crescent moon to represent her birth.

    • endangeredtrolls

That’s incredibly sweet and what a perfectly timed bead!

  5. Jenny

I do love these, would two fit together neatly to make a full moon?!

  6. Marisa

I think that this is an inspired interpretation of the original Luna. Yes it’s the moon but it’s also quite abstract. For sure it is going to be interesting to see how people use them. Will be adding the Gibbous Luna to my wishlist!

  7. Jess

So excited for these! I will be getting 2 of each. Sorry if I missed it but are these a limited edition or special order? Thank you

  8. Holly

So can you fit them together to make a full moon?
