Ohm Beads Love Kills Review

This Ohm Beads blog brings a dedicated review of the Ohm Beads Love Kills, Bead of the Month for February 2017.

The Ohm Beads Bead of the Month for February 2017 is Love Kills and of course it’s themed for Valentine’s Day. It’s a focal sized skull that can be worn on a bracelet, bangle or the Ohm Beads Ball Necklace. It’s limited to just three hundred and thirty three pieces (333) and retails at $155, €142 or Β£127.

There are still stocks of this bead available and I’ll detail ordering links a little further down. The core is universal so it’s compatible with Pandora charm bracelets too.

The Ohm Beads Love Kills is incredibly detailed. It’s worth noting that Ohm simultaneously released Love Wounds which is a normal sized bead. The latter also has a much lower retail price and isn’t a limited edition.

Both the eye and nose sockets are heart shaped but the detailing around the core on either side is just amazing; as is the jaw for that matter.

It’s packaged on a bed of dried rose petals, in a wooden presentation box, identical to the one used for the Ohm Beads Argh.

I always seem to receive a lot of questions regarding the Ohm Beads Ball Necklace. It’s a very similar concept to the Trollbeads Fantasy Necklace but the ball sits inside compatible beads, rather than atop of a dangle. It makes a different and slightly neater look. In the image below you can see how the chain threads through the base of the bead, out of the top of the skull and the ball then sits neatly (and completely invisibly) inside.

As mentioned Love Kills is a focal piece and honestly, I’ve primarily been wearing it as a choker. Incidentally a leather string necklace is provided with the piece but I stupidly forgot to photograph that. It’s significantly larger than Love Wounds which is arguable more suited to a charm bracelet. It should be noted also that they aren’t entirely identical. Love Kills has superior detailing, presumably due to the larger size. In the first two images below you can see a comparison between the two. In the third image I’ve also included the Trollbeads Mexican Sugar Skull.

For those of you who are only interested in wearing it as a bracelet piece, here’s a little inspiration. It’s not too large for a bracelet or bangle by any means though you can see it towers over the glass and stone.

Ohm Beads Love Kills Summary

This is by far my favourite of the Ohm Beads Valentine’s Day beads and I’ve liked them all. It’s not just impressive due to it’s size but the sheer attention to detail and though there is indeed heart shaped detailing to be found, I’d still class it as a gothic piece.

Looking ahead, tomorrow is preview day and the Bead of the Month for March will be unveiled. As usual I’ll be publishing previews as soon as I’m permitted.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the Ohm Beads Love Kills? Did you indulge in this piece? Hit the comments and let me know!

I absolutely adore mine, haven’t stopped wearing it as a pendant yet, but looking forward to experimenting with it once I can bear to stop wearing it πŸ˜‰

Whilst I prefer the old style ball necklace (which is what I have), especially when wearing it with Luna, Rawr Skulls etc, I do wonder if Love Kills would suit the new style better… but no more funds to get another just yet…

Bravo Ohm, think this qualifies as the most I’ve spent on a new bead ever!

It’s lovely though isn’t it? I know it wasn’t a cheap bead but on the other hand the sheer scale and detailing justify the price in my opinion πŸ˜€ I knew you’d be loving it πŸ˜‰

Mine arrived today!! Of all days right!? Happy V Day to me! LOL It is amazing! And I’m glad it did well in sales so hopefully Ohm will add more to the line like I saw mentioned. It’s amazing and definitely worth the splurge!! THANK YOU OHM!

I wore this on my Ohm ball necklace yesterday. I love it. I have worn it on a bangle as well. I had been worried about the size but it’s not too big tone versatile.

I agree completely! When I first saw the stock and campaign images, I assumed it was going to be far too large to wear on a wrist. I actually think it looks amazing on a bangle πŸ˜€

I’m not sure why, but your live shots make the bead look better than the stock images. Now I’m wondering if I should.

Aaaw thank you <3 Stock images are great for showing the bead but they're generally clinical and lack a certain feeling to them. If you do want one though be quick as they've nearly all gone. I know both of the retailers linked have just a couple and Ohm Beads USA are very low on stock as well.

      xoxo
