Endangered Trolls Exclusive Preview of the Ohm Beads I Heart Vermont

This Ohm Beads blog article offers an exclusive preview at the upcoming Ohm Beads I Heart Vermont bead, part of the US State collection.

With Ohm Beads being based in the USA, there’s little wonder that many beads have a distinctly patriotic appeal. A perfect such example is the Ohm Beads US State collection. These boast heart shaped designs featuring a splash of enamel detailing comprising a small heart on the front. On the rear is a reminder of the beloved state in question. To date the series consists of two charm designs; I Heart Alaska and I Heart Maine. Thanks to an exclusive preview offered by Ohm Beads, I can unveil a third up and coming release.

For those that live outside of the USA and who are tempted to read no further, please do as Ohm Beads have hinted at the potential to take this series more global and are seeking inspiration and opinions!

The release date of this bead has yet to be confirmed but it’s design is in keeping with the existing charms. The detailed scene on the rear of the charm hints at the maple syrup production for which this state is famed. It offers a real whimsical reminder of home for anyone with roots in Vermont (or perhaps just maple syrup lovers such as myself?)

As mentioned two other charm designs currently comprise this series and these are detailed below.

Ohm Beads State Series Summary

The Ohm Beads I Heart Vermont will be the third bead to join this state collection and, at present, around ten to twelve beads are planned; many of which are still in their design stages.

Interestingly however, Ohm Beads are wanting feedback from their community as to which designs they would love to see. These can be further US states or, in the case of collectors located outside of the USA, representations of their own country or area.

Ohm Beads regularly check the comments posted on articles here at Endangered Trolls so this is the perfect opportunity to make your voice heard. Would you like to see your home country represented in a charm design? This is certainly an idea touched on by both the Trollbeads World Tour collection and Pandora’s National Icons series but neither have seen representations of all nations. If so, what design would you love to see on the rear of the charm to aptly represent your country, county, state or region? I’m really looking forward to reading suggestions myself so please, hit the comments and share your thoughts for the team at Ohm Beads!

Ohm Beads: Given that it’s the most populous state, with quite a bit of iconic imagery, please consider California for an “I love …” charm.

      Hi Maria 🙂

Thank you for the suggestion – any thoughts on specific imagery you’d like to see on the rear of the charm? 🙂

      Kind Regards

I would LOVE an “I love Brazil”, or an “I love Germany” or an “I love Amazon” from OHM. I am from Amazon in Brazil, but live in Germany. I think there are not enough brazilian themed beads out there. there are some german beads.

But, if not for the heart collection, I would adore a good executed christ the redeemer all-silver bead. Actually that is a bead I have not seen yet from any brand besides life by vivara, a brazilian bead brand, and they did a poor job of it, which is a shame.

      Hi Uila 🙂

Great suggestions! Any thoughts on what scenes should be depicted on any of these beads to best represent the countries or region? It’s always better to hear of inspiration from people that know the area than those judging from outside I feel 🙂

      Kind Regards
      Victoria

For amazon they could use the amazon theatre as an image (it is a beautiful building that had many of it’s fine details shipped from Europe to Amazon,, including all the pieces used to build the summit!). The forest scenario is over made in designs to represent amazon, in my opinion (and in the opinion of many amazonians as well).

        • endangeredtrolls

That’s a lovely idea and I think you’re right, it would make a refreshing change and a different representation I think 😀

          Thank you for the idea!

          Kind Regards
          Victoria

Also, please make an Eiffel tower!

    • endangeredtrolls

Noted 🙂 I was always disappointed that the Trollbeads world tour never visited France 🙁

um…… What’s that supposed to be on the back? The ME and AK beads are clear enough but, as for the VT bead, maple trees don’t look like that and I can only guess that other thing is a covered bridge (maybe). But it’s not a very good one and they’re more iconic to PA or an Eastern Seaboard state.

Seriously, I don’t get it. With charming small towns like Stowe, they could have done skiiing and a steepled white clapboard church. Much more iconic of VT to my way of thinking. Or if they were going with the maple syrup theme they should have done a real maple tree with collection buckets and maybe a horse drawn sled or smoke rising from a sugaring shack.

      Hi rainey,

I’d assumed it was an ode to maple syrup so my apologies if I’m wrong! 🙁

These are a nice idea 🙂 Of course I would love to see an “I love London…..” charm, with Big Ben or Tower of London, or Tower Bridge as a representation.

If Ohm consider doing a European cities set, then Paris is a must with of course the Eiffel Tower on it. Of all the major European cities Paris is my absolute favourite 🙂

I would prefer European cities rather than whole Countries, and most of the major cities have iconic imagery that would represent a lovely charm either for those who live in that City, or those who have visited and want a momento 🙂

I think it’s great that Ohm actively seek feedback, and so as they’ve asked, not related to this “I love…” series, but I would love a Tardis silver charm to pay homage to Dr Who. I am sure there are many fans out there who would like one so it’s probably been mentioned before.

Thanks Ohm for reading, and thank you Victoria for giving us the chance to comment via your blog 🙂

I must admit, one of the things I love about Ohm is the actual people behind the brand. When I first spoke with them, I was hesitant as to whether they’d want to work with me considering, at that stage, they had no real European presence. Since then we’ve managed to sort them a key European retailer and they’re getting more noticed on this side of the pond – which I think is wonderful.

Their community bead project is fantastic (and sorely under mentioned here at Endangered Trolls – something I must rectify in the future.) They take the time to read through the comments and get a feeling for their fans and what they want. When I first received the preview of this bead they particularly mentioned that they’d like to hear whether there would be a demand for this type of bead on a more global scale and what specifically people would like to see. I really like that. It’s the same feeling I get with Charlotte at ByBiehl – people who take the time out to actually interact with their fans.

I would love to see something for Paris. I was so disappointed that Trollbeads never took their world tour there (though I did sort of predict it due to their lack of official French distributor) but it’s such an amazing city with so much culture that would have translated beautifully to a bead design.

Naturally, I’d love to see Copenhagen represented as it’s one of, if not my favourite city.

For Copenhagen they could consider the Little Mermaid who is immortalised in the harbour district as an ode to the wonderful Hans Christian Andersen 🙂 I love fairy tales, I particularly love his work and I adore the city! Alternatively perhaps a small scene of the Nyhavn area (beautifully photographed here:- http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archivo:Nyhavn,_Copenhagen.jpg)

It’s beautiful in the summer – perfect for sitting outside at one of the many cafes and close to some wonderful shopping!

I want to see an “I Love Arkansas” charm! Here in Arkansas, there is a town that has the only diamond-producing site in the entire world where you can go and dig for diamonds and other beautiful stones and you get to keep what you find! People from all over come here to Arkansas to dig in the 37 acre field for once in a lifetime treasures! The place is called Crater of Diamonds. 🙂

    • endangeredtrolls

What an awesome idea 😀 It must be quite exciting for the tourists 😀 I think that could translate really well to an engraved scene on the back of a charm too 🙂 And very appropriate considering it’s jewellery 😀

      Kind Regards
      Victoria
