Ohm Beads Green Crack Review

This Ohm Beads blog brings a dedicated review of the limited edition Ohm Beads Green Crack.

The limited edition Ohm Beads Green Crack debuted as part of the July releases. I had actually intended on reviewing it quite soon after it’s launch but it became back ordered alarmingly fast and many of my retail partners had a short wait for new stock.

Despite the fact I’m not generally a fan of green, I can absolutely understand why it flew off the virtual shelves. It features Ohm’s striking and unique shattered glass effect. The colour is bright and vibrant and actually I really like the duo-tone shading. It retails at $40, €39 or £35.

For those unfamiliar with the shatter effect glass, I’ve taken a few macro images. This idea was first applied to the Dark Shadows collection and I’ve had the earliest versions of those for years now with absolutely no problems. There’s a clear layer of glass over the top of the crack effect so they don’t snag nor do they feel sharp. It’s a very striking style.

The bead does vary in colouring so I’d definitely consider shopping from live images if you are particular. I’ll note the retailers offering that option in the ordering section.

I’ve mentioned so many times that I struggle with very bright colours. They’re not in my comfort zone. For that reason I’ve been wearing Green Crack predominantly with the cTrue Beadz Shadow glass. The more neutral base allows the green to really stand out without becoming overpowering. I’m fortunate enough to have a couple of the Ohm Beads Sol on my desk right now so I wanted to mix those in also and I love the end result! The silver beads are mostly the new release Ohm Beads Insects, with a couple of extra additions. There’s a bead index at the end of the article if you’re unsure of any design.

Ohm Beads Green Crack Summary

This is such a striking bead and I’m hoping to grab a second before stocks eventually dwindle. On that note Ohm haven’t yet mentioned Green Crack as in imminent danger of retiring (unlike Rainbowed,) but if it’s on your wishlist I would prioritise it as we head into the autumn.

For those of you who love this bracelet but don’t have Sol, Lemon appears to be the same shade of yellow and is readily available right now.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the Ohm Beads Green Crack? Did you indulge in this design? Is it on your wishlist? Hit the comments and let me know!

I have a pair of Green Crack and I love it. I’ve been wearing it a lot with my Tinkerbell charm 😊 So now I want to make a Neverland bracelet. If you have any idea for Peter pan…

Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw. How cute! You’re going to hate me for saying this but I can’t think Tinkerbell without thinking fairy dust and I can’t think fairy dust without thinking the Golden Rutilated Quartz 😛

I’ll just go and hide now :p

        😂😂😂
I have one. I’m going to try and stop now. I still need a ruby and an emerald. Unless I find one I really really love…. 😉

Oooh, I love Disney and fairytales! Check out Trollbeads’ Spirit of Freedom bead which makes a perfect Peter Pan. Also, check out Trollbeads’ St. Bernard Dog bead as a possible Nana. Hope this information helps, and you have fun collecting for your bracelet!

Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw. Nana! I’d never thought of that!

Green isn’t one of my favorite colors either, but I love this bead! I did wonder about the cracks, but it sounds like it’s not going to be a concern. I really like how you’re doing the live images…I wouldn’t have thought there would be that much of a variation. It’s on my short- list for purchase…soon before another good one gets away from me.

    • endangeredtrolls

The crack effect is absolutely not a concern 🙂 It looks very dramatic but you can’t actually feel it on the surface. They’ve done a good job with these 😀 There is a lot of variation however so it’s definitely worth shopping live images if you have a particular style in mind 🙂

I bought one from glb yesterday. The name amuses me because green crack is the name of a variety of a certain plant. It will be my first barrel shaped bead as well as my first cracked bead. I hope it lasts long enough for me to purchase another one to make a pair. I’m currently saving for October.

    • endangeredtrolls

Oh I’m pretty sure the choice of name was deliberate 😉

It’s a really nice bead though so a great choice for your first! I’m not sure how the stock levels are looking. I know Ohm said Rainbowed is unlikely to remain into September. I *suspect* Green Crack will follow shortly after but if I see any updates I’ll pass them along 🙂

      xoxo
