Limited Edition Ohm Beads Flying Dutchman Preview

This Ohm Beads blog brings a complete preview of the upcoming and limited edition Ohm Beads Flying Dutchman, exclusive to the European market.

There’s an absolute plethora of new designs launching in June and while some are joining the core collection, others are restricted. The new Ohm Beads Flying Dutchman is exclusive to the European market and limited to one thousand six hundred (1600) pieces. Like the other new designs, it officially launches on June the 5th but pre-orders begin immediately.

Ohm Beads Flying Dutchman

The Flying Dutchman is of course a legendary ghostship. It dates back to the 17th century so it’s depicted as a traditional tall ship. The Ohm Beads Flying Dutchman will retail at €86 and sees blind distribution between dirty and silver finishes. It comes in a very apt wooden presentation box, very similar if not identical to those used for Love Kills and Argh.

Ohm Beads Flying Dutchman Pre-Ordering

For those of you keen to pre-order, you’ll find a list of retailers below. Do remember this is a limited edition in terms of quantities available.

Ohm Beads Flying Dutchman Summary

It’s difficult not to find something impressive, captivating and romantic about the old tall ships. Throw in a ghost story though and they appeal to me much more. For any of you with ongoing pirate themed bracelets, this is of course ideal. It would look fantastic on a Halloween themed bracelet and I can’t help but find appeal for it on a trading ship themed combination, perhaps using the likes of the Ohm Beads Teabag.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the Ohm Beads Flying Dutchman? Hit the comments and let me know!

WOW! I can dream. Looks just like I imagine a ghostship would.

    • endangeredtrolls

Yes it’s very well executed I think 🙂 On the bad side I don’t think it will be around for long since I have a hunch it’ll be popular

  2. Lola

The “feel” in this is perfect.

  3. Nereida

I keep looking at it but this is a charm that needs to be seen on a chain to see how it’s balanced. I have an immense suspicion that it will hang mostly upside down with the best details hidden.

I’m not entirely sure. If you look at the core – ignore how the chain sits in these images because it’s laid down – the core itself travels quite far up the rigging. I think the chain will sit high enough that the bead will stay upright. BUT I could be wrong. I haven’t see it in person I’m afraid.

I have waited for a bead like this since almost forever. I am so happy it hasn’t been made cute. Preordered right away. this is just so cool.

    • endangeredtrolls

Yes it’s a very cool bead 😉 With lots of potential uses I think!

  5. Rita

I love this bead and will get it. But it does look like it will be heavy on the one side and will hang upside down. I’m also a bit concerned it will snag because of all the pointy bits. But it’s still so awesome and I want it!

    • endangeredtrolls

It could be a bit a pokey. I don’t think there’s much avoiding that.

In regards to whether it spins, I don’t know. I replied to a lady above about this. If you look at the core it actually extends quite high up the rigging so when worn the chain will sit higher than is shown in the images. I don’t know if that’s enough to stabilise it. I’m sure Ohm did consider it when they designed the bead though 🙂 Bangle wearers might be able to secure it between two locks or spacers IF it does indeed spin
