Ohm Beads December 2017 Collections Debut

This Ohm Beads blog alerts readers to the launch of the Ohm Beads December 2017 collections, comprising the limited edition Stardust and Night Sky designs.

Happy release day! Today sees the global launch of the Ohm Beads Stardust as Bead of the Month for December 2017 and the equally limited edition Ohm Beads Night Sky glass. I am more than a little bit in love with both of these designs and more than that, I think they complement each other so perfectly to form a very wintery feeling collection from Ohm. The bad news is that the designs were both so popular, they flew off the virtual shelves at the very start of pre-orders. I’ll give you an update on the stock situation a little later in the article.

Ohm Beads Stardust

Stardust is December’s Bead of the Month design and I was so excited from the start to see such a strong bead for the end of the year. We’ve had food themed designs a plenty and yes last year they switched things up a little with the Ho Ho No but that wasn’t universally loved. Stardust is amazing. It’s quite a large bead and it’s retailing at $70, €65 or £58. One thousand one hundred and eleven (1111) were made and it’s suitable for bracelets, bangles or a necklace.

For those of you still looking for Stardust, my following retail partners still have some for sale. Ohm Beads USA should have a small number going live now too.

Ohm Beads Night Sky

Night Sky is the limited edition glass and it’s beautiful. It takes the form of Ohm’s iconic barrel shape and it appears to be molten silver used inside. It’s retailing at $40, €39 or £35.

All of my retail partners have sold out of their current allocation of Night Sky.

Ohm Beads December 2017

In regards to the stock levels for Night Sky, there will be more beads. Ohm aim to keep their limited editions glass around for about a season. In essence this is their winter glass. New deliveries are due with retailers some time in late January to early February. Obviously there will be no restocks of Stardust as that had a limited production run.

There are going to be comparisons drawn between Night Sky and the Trollbeads Shimmer Royal and Wishful Sky. While they’re all inspired by the same theme, their actual execution is entirely different. I’m saving live images for another article but here’s a quick comparison.

In the above image it’s Wishful Sky to the left, obviously Night Sky in the centre and Shimmer Royal to the right. Night Sky actually has more of a teal colouring which I adore. This is definitely a bead I’ll be wanting in multiples, as soon as stock reappears!

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the Ohm Beads December 2017 release? Did you pre-order these beads? Hit the comments and let me know!

I love small releases. I also love these beads! Waiting for the mail is painful though, especially this time of year. I will try to be patient.

  2. Noemi

I liked the glass bead, but since I’m not a fan of glass beads I didn’t rush to get it. I’d be more likely to purchase it if it were a round bead and not a barrel shaped bead. I don’t care for the barrel shape it is too big for my petite wrists.
