Ohm Beads Bunny Reaper Preview (Bead of the Month March 2017)

This Ohm Beads blog brings a preview of the upcoming Ohm Beads Bunny Reaper, Bead of the Month for March 2017.

With Valentine's Day now over, it's time to look ahead to the March releases from Ohm Beads. I actually can't believe I'm now writing about the spring season when Christmas seems barely over. The Bead of the Month concept is continuing which has made me so happy. What follows is a preview of the Ohm Beads Bunny Reaper. There are just five hundred and fifty five (555) of these beads produced and it's compatible with Pandora charm bracelets. The official launch date is March the 1st but as usual retailers are free to begin offering pre-orders today. He's retailing at $50, €47 or £42

Ohm Beads Bunny Reaper

I think this is perhaps one of my favourite Bead of the Month designs to date. He's cute and quirky and so typically Ohm.

Don’t be a silly sod. Bunny’s aren’t scary. The Bunny Reaper arrives every Spring. He brings death to us all with his cute little nose. The most beautifully decorated eggs attract him and he’s coming to collect them all. People try to hide their eggs and avoid The Bunny’s visit, some even try fending him off with bribery, tricks, or chocolate.

To ward off the Bunny Reaper, keep marshmallow bunnies at the ready. Another good tactic is jelly beans. If you don’t want your beautiful eggs to disappear during Easter, don’t paint them too prettily, don’t play any fun games like egg hunting, egg rolling, and egg tapping. If you have any chocolate eggs at home during Easter, Bunny Reaper will take them first - so plan your egg hiding very carefully. He doesn’t like images of himself, so a chocolate bunny works wonders. Are you brave at heart willing to keep death close and not be afraid? Sterling silver is the way to go and you don’t have to worry about it being eaten. If you have your own Bunny Reaper by OHM, he will protect your family during the Spring for generations to come. #LifeIsDeath #EmbraceSpring

Ohm Beads Bunny Reaper Ordering Details

I'll try and keep these links upto date over the next couple of days, particularly as I suspect this design will sell out very quickly:-

Ohm Beads Bunny Reaper Summary

Due to the demand for Bead of the Month designs, I'll keep this article updated with pre-order details as the stores list their stock. It always takes a little time for everyone to set their beads live.

This little guy is so cute! Aside from his very Terry Pratchett vibe, he'll make a quirky addition to an Easter bracelet.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the upcoming Ohm Beads Bunny Reaper? Will you be pre-ordering? Hit the comments and let me know!

Ok, so I’m going to pre-order it right now. He’s just the cutest ever 😊

    • endangeredtrolls

Isn’t he?! 😀 I think he’s one or maybe *the* best BotM design to date 😀

      xoxo

      • Mike @ OHM

V – you say that almost every month ;P

        • endangeredtrolls

Shhh. I’m proud of my fangirl status <3

          xoxo

  2. Sharene

I think he is great. So “Ohm”. Good job, once again to Ohm!! 🙂

    • endangeredtrolls

I agree entirely 😀 No one else would do a Bunny Reaper 😀 Everyone else will do normal bunnies 😉

      xoxo

  3. Courtney Alexis Thompson

Paid in full.. Love the bunny.

    • endangeredtrolls

Isn’t he amazing?! 😀 I so so love this design 😀

      xoxo

  4. Angela

Good Lord why is Ohm so obsessed with Death? I know some folks like the macabre but two months in a row? An ok bead but having every month be death related just not into the death worship thing. Thought Spring,Easter was celebrating new life/rebirth.

    • endangeredtrolls

Aw. I’m sorry you don’t like him so much. I think he’s awesome and he makes me think of Terry Pratchett (and I love his worlds.) Hopefully next month will have something more to your tastes 🙂

      xoxo

    • Tanya

      Agree.

    • Kit@OHM

      I think you”love the April’s BOTM Angela 😉

      • endangeredtrolls

        Kit, you tease!

  5. Noemi

The bunny is cute, but I don’t know if I will be getting this bead.

  6. Kim

Oh, that made me laugh! Easter was always one of my favorite holidays growing up, because we’d go to a family reunion and I’d have a great time running around with my cousins (in retrospect, I don’t know how our parents stood a bunch of hyper kids jacked up on sugar all weekend!). 😀 This bead is so quirky and just so…Ohm. Very strongly tempted!

    • endangeredtrolls

Isn’t he amazing? Oh Kim you know you need him! 😀 Look at hiiiim! 😀

      xoxo

    • Mike @ OHM

Kim – Laughter makes the world a better place to live.

  7. Tanya

Agree with Angela. He’s definitely cute, but I’m tiring of the continued focus on death and macabre. I love all things dark humor, but in my jewelry it feels a little ‘teenage boy’ after a while. I feel like they are definitely targeting a young male market lately. I will think on this one, I’m not in a rush. Come on Ohm, how about a nice little sock monster! 😉

    • endangeredtrolls

I’m sorry you don’t him so much 🙂 But fortunately they do release a lot of designs so hopefully something from the other releases will appeal 😀

      xoxo

    • Kit@OHM

Hi Tanya, What would you suggest for April’s BOTM? 🙂

      • Tanya

Haha, Kit, I could tell you, but then…(enter killer bunny). Seeing this late, but yes, I like the idea of a Geek 2.0 and maybe something alive or not homicidal for the month of April would be nice. 🙂

  8. Gene

This is what I would expect Ohm to do. If I want a sweet, cute bunny I’ll look elsewhere. If I want a killer bunny ( which I do!) I’ll go to Ohm.

    • endangeredtrolls

I agree with this completely! There’s so much choice for cute. There’s far less so for quirky and well.. bunny reapers 😀

      xoxo

    • Tanya

Lol. I don’t think anyone who collects Ohm is shopping for ‘sweet bunnies’. I just happen to enjoy their less predictable, more lighthearted or ‘nerdy’ designs. Just me. Luckily the collection is eclectic enough for everyone.

      • endangeredtrolls

Oh I like the geek inspired pieces too 😀 I’d love to see them revisit those and do a Geek 2.0 maybe 😀

        xoxo

    • Mike @ OHM

      Agreed.

  9. Elizabeth

I love this guy! He makes me think of all the medieval manuscript art. Bunnies weren’t so nice in those illustrations! My BOTM streak will continue! Well done Ohm!

    • endangeredtrolls

Have you skipped any at all so far Liz?

      xoxo

      • Elizabeth

Nope! But the turkey and the ham spend a lot of time in the bead box.

        • endangeredtrolls

Yeah. Same as me then 😀

          xoxo

      • Beth

I always worry about not having the ones I skip, which sounds ridiculous as I write it. There’s just something about having the whole series like Elizabeth has. Each time I skip, though, which really hasn’t been that many times, I can use that money towards something I really want. So what’s my problem?! Bead fanatics! LOL.

        • Elizabeth

That’s just it! Fanatics and an unreasonable need. It would kill me not to have them all for the sake of a ham. Maybe the ham would look awesome with the canning jar and the picnic basket accompanied by the Tidlom glass beads. I have used the turkey on a bracelet with all the stages of being a turkey right down to the undead one.

          • endangeredtrolls

I have the same thing 😉 I’m vegetarian for goodness sake and I still have that Holey Ham :p It feels wrong not to 🙁

            xoxo

        • endangeredtrolls

It’s not weird. I think it’s the collector inside all of us. I do exactly the same thing 😀

          (You’re not alone ;))

          xoxo

  10. Jess

Love him! I pre-ordered and cannot wait to get him 🙂 I love Ohms story behind him, so funny and clever as always. I can understand why people may not like it but in a way its a reminder to LIVE and that death is always near so you should live your life to its fullest! That’s what I will think of when I wear him 😉 He would make a pretty cool tattoo too!

    • endangeredtrolls

Life is *very* short! But as someone who loves fantasy, supernatural, urban fantasy and so on, I just find him utterly adorable 😀 Now we just have to wait for him to launch 😉

      xoxo

  11. Marisa

Never thought I would be interested in having a Bunny Reaper charm. But oh my, once you mentioned the immortal Terry Pratchett that was it, I was sold!!

    • endangeredtrolls

Doesn’t he just look like he should be living on Discworld?! 😀

      xoxo

  12. Amanda

How big is this bead ??

    • endangeredtrolls

No idea. It isn’t released yet but considering the price I’d assume it’s quite standard Ohm Beads size.

      • Mike @ OHM

@jennyatohm’s IG page has some images that should give a sense of the size
