You can’t look at this bead and not think of Jurassic Park. In turn that made me think of much loved Christmas movies. There are just some movies that feel different at Christmas.

Yesterday I asked you to describe your ideal Christmas and watching movies featured heavily. Today I want to know all about those favourite holiday movies. It doesn’t specifically have to be a Christmas movie. I want to know what your go to for the festive season is. I’m a huge fan of the Back to the Future series and of course, Harry Potter.

Small text / disclaimers (sorry.) The prize will ship directly from Ohm Beads USA. Neither Endangered Trolls nor Ohm can be held responsible for any import taxes incurred related to these prizes. He was a great german Comedian, Actor and Director and I play a few of his sketch on my own when I was in school. He is very important to me.

I even run charity miles for My virtual Hogwarts Running Club (it is real, the medals are crazy amazing) and if you know Primark ahh the stuff is amazing! My Insta says it all. Dinoegg popcorn bucket ^_^; Each year, we watch a HP movie for me, a western for dad, Sound of Music for mum and Dirty dancing for my sister. I then disappear to watch the rest, binge watching and getting out my old philosophers pc game. Time to get Arty as well! Merry Beadmas and Christmas! X ^_^

  18. Marisa

At some point over the Christmas holiday period, I will find myself watching [yet again] the classic film that is ‘Die Hard’ . Bruce Willis and the late, great Alan Rickman… Simply brilliant!
To quote Hans Gruber (Rickman’s character); “Now I have a machine gun. Ho-ho-ho.” ๐ŸŽ…๐Ÿป

  22. Valeriya

Russian most popular New Year movie – The Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath!
The film is traditionally broadcast in Russia and some other former Soviet republics and satellite states every New Year’s Day. It is as fondly viewed every year as is the American films Itโ€™s a Wonderful Life and Home Alone during the Christmas holidays. Many memorable quotes from the film have become catch phrases in the Russian language.

  23. Varinda

Love actually is my most favorite holiday movie, never get tired of it๐Ÿ˜

  24. Ro'

In genere qualsiasi film Disney…il mio preferito “PINOCCHIO”
I classici musicali, non manca mai di rivedere un film con Audrey Hepburn!๐Ÿ’•

  25. Sorrel

I have lots of brothers, so we always watched war movies. The Great Escape is probably my favourite.

  26. Anja

My favorite Christmas movie has always been ‘Little Lord Fauntleroy’ – it’s even a Christmas movie. A great Holiday movie is ‘It’s a wonderful life’ with Jimmy Stewart.

  27. Grace

It’s a popular one for a reason, Elf is my go to Christmas film too. It’s a favourite of my brother too who we only get to meet up once a year so watching elf at Christmas has sort of become a tradition.

  28. Mariya09

    Home alone and Harry Potter

  29. Lee Ching Ching

Christmas is the time to catch the Dec block buster in the cinema. For the past few years, it has been the Star Wars or The Hobbit series. Or if we are at home, we will be catching up on Harry Potter. My kids just adore Harry Potter.

  30. Lizzy

We love watching elf with the kids and after they go to bed, we watch the Harry Potter series and the DieHard movies. My personal favorite when I’m wrapping gifts is National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, I’ll watch that one over and over. I can really relate to Chevy Chase’s character Clark Griswold.

  31. Sara

Christmas movies? I always love watching star wars the first trilogy and Indiana Jones, even if they’re not properly Christmas movies…

    • Marikaisa

Yes!!!! Dear old Indy!!! Gotta love him!!

  32. Marikaisa

Just as Sara said, Indiana Jones!!! I have a box set of the Young Indiana Jones series, and I love them! Hard to choose between Harry Potter and Indy!!!
I do try to sneak in some Muppets, but hubby doesnโ€™t understand the fun in those ๐Ÿ™„ which is a shame. But with a burning woodstove, I will watch whatever ๐Ÿ˜‰

  33. Elena

My Christmas is a time of especially warm and cordial embraces with my relatives, which means that on our screen – the Tenth Kingdom and Real Love – a movie for all time !!!

  35. Lola

  38. Svetlana Nikolaeva

Dear Victoria, my hubby is a huge fan of the Back to the Future series so he got me hooked too)) So we often watch these over and over. If left to myself, I’d also choose Home Alone as my old favourite, though!

  39. Annmarie mack

Die hard, A Christmas story. And for nostalgia emmet otters jug band Christmas. My brother and I have lived it since we were little kids.

  40. Niky

Well, I m not a huge fan of Xmas movies, I admit.
I ve seen all the Jurassic Park series cause My son, when he was a boy, loved Most of anything else dinos. He had a enormous collection of dinosaurs, books, anything related to dinosaurs was collectible for him.
But, to go back At yr question, one of My favourite holiday movoes are Harry meets Sally and Pretty Woman. Not much to do with Xmas, But so funny and Lovely!!!!!!

  41. Katie

I love watching the Princess Bride with the family – funny, sweet, and nothing in it that requires the kids to leave the room. For the Christmas moment that I have to myself (if any), it is Its A Wonderful Life. For the Christmas movie with the husband after the kids are in bed, it is Die Hard. For the long vacation with the kids, it is the Harry Potter series. And, for after Christmas, it is Sense and Sensibility. Love Alan Rickman, and after all of the above that he is in, I’m in the mood to watch his as the romantic lead that he is. (Hugh Grant who?)

  42. Angela

I love the Christmas Vacation movie. I can never watch it enough this time of year it cracks me up. The kid in me also likes Charlie Brown Christmas.

  43. Rachel H.

I love Christmas with the Kranks itโ€™s funny and corny but my favorite. I mean who doesnโ€™t want to skip Christmas sometimes?

  44. Maria

    Home Alone ๐Ÿ˜†

  45. Erin Antel

I have kids, so Rudolf the red nosed reindeer, Frosty the snowman, and Charlie Brown Christmas are all on the must watch list. Miracle on 34th street is my favorite (love Maureen Oโ€™Hara!). Harry Potter is ALWAYS a good choice!!

  46. Jackie R Oz

Anything I can sing along to and know the dialogue off by heart. Always watch the Bass & Rankin claymation classics: Rudolf the red nosed reindeer (I made a bracelet homage to it), Santa Clause is Coming to Town, The year without a Santa Clause, The Little Drummer Boy. Then Labyrinth (David Bowie), Xanadu, and Down with Love (newer movie, great music & costumes. In the vein of Doris Day Rock Hudson comedies, with Ewan McGregor & Renee Zellwiger)

  47. KarenT

  48. Paula, Gravesend

I have already watched my go to movie – Clue based on the Cluedo board game and starring Tim Curry. It has visual comedy and clever dialogue and is a film I never tire of. I will watch it again before the Christmas holidays are over. Really hope I win today as I have the Rawr glass beads but none of the silver ones yet.

  49. Martha Olavarrieta

My favorite Christmas movie is Christmas Vacation. It never gets old, and it’s still funny to me and my family.

  50. Caitlin

When I was a kid I wore out my VHS copy of the television film adaptation of A Child’s Christmas in Wales. There’s a scene in it where the protagonist’s Christmas gift of tin soldiers seem to come to life and start to battle with him that I just adored. I also think it’s the movie that explained to me why adults got weird when they drank too much of the special adult punch, so providing a valuable service right there.

  51. mary

    I just “‘It’s a Wonderful Life”!

  52. Charlotte

Santa claus the movie (dudley Moore as an inventor elf) and then jightmasre before Xmas as second favourite

  53. Corinne

    Disney’s A Christmas Carol ๐Ÿ˜„

  54. Jennifer Criollo

Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. It’s my favorite movie and it’s something that puts me in a better mood when I watch it.

    Qualunque film Disney…in particolare “PINOCCHIO”
Vacanze Romane con la mitica Audrey Hepburn!

  56. Alex

Hands down Home Alone. Super funny and a joy- always puts a smile on my face. Television here in the US tends to play it quite frequently between thanksgiving and Christmas ๐Ÿ™‚

  57. Paula, Gravesend

I love watching Clue starring Tim Curry. It’s based on the Cluedo board game and has good visual comedy and cleaver dialogue. All the actors are brilliant in it and I never tire of it. Really hope I win today as I have the Rawr glass beads but none of the silver ones yet.

  58. Jeanette

It’s a Wonderful Life. Makes me cry every year ๐Ÿ™‚

  59. Ruth

It is not the Christmas season for me if I don’t watch “It’s a Wonderful Life”, “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas” and some version of “A Christmas Carol”. It is also tradition for me to watch the Lord of the Rings Trilogy the week between Christmas and New Years. This amount of TV/movie time is more time spent in in front of the TV than I do over an 8 month period. Now that I think about it, I have literally not had the TV on since May!

  60. Holly

Every year we decorate the tree while watching Elf. We and the kids absolutely love it. Then there’s the Griswall’s Christmas Vacation and all the cartoon classics – Frosty, Charlie Brown, … Love it!

  61. Heather M

Beavis and Butthead do Christmas!!! (I wish I was kidding ๐Ÿ™‚ )
Also, I always wrap presents to Doctor Who. For some reason, monsters and presents just makes so much sense.

  62. Erin Antel

I have kids, so Rudolf the red nosed reindeer, Frosty the snowman, and Charlie Brown Christmas are all on the list. Miracle on 34th Street is my favorite (I love Maureen Oโ€™Hara!) Harry Potter is ALWAYS a good choice!

  63. Federica Ruotolo

Harry Potter movies always enlight Christmas with their magic!

  64. Vicki

Die Hard and Lethal Weapon are my favourite Christmas movies.

    • Pippa

Die Hard is great. I totally forgot about it being a Christmas movie. One of the best action movies ever!

  65. Kelly

Elf! Can’t watch that and feel unhappy

  66. Eva Calendino

Elf , A Christmas Story, A Christmas Carol and The Big Lebowski. Watching these movies with family and friends, whilst sipping eggnog or scotch and munching on popcorn canโ€™t be beat. Merry Christmas!

  67. NguyetNguyen

This one’s such stunning bead. Hope I’ll be the lucky person. Happy counting down to Christmas Eve!

  68. Sara

I love the old Christmas movie, Christmas in Connecticut with Barbara Stanwick. Of course any version of A Christmas Carol is a favorite as well.

  69. Gene

Definitely Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas. Love it!

  70. Penny

Anything with Burl Ives in it! Always brings back memories of Christmas past ๐Ÿ™‚ Merry Christmas to one and all!

  71. Kant

Well my favourite movie for Christmas is Love Actually.

  72. Bรคrbel

Iโ€™m also not a huge fan of christmas. Nevertheless there are three films I watch every year: the christmas comedy film โ€œChristmas Vacationโ€ with Chevy Chase, then a very funny christmas episode of my favorite german TV crime series โ€œWilsbergโ€ and – of course ๐Ÿ˜…- the fairytale โ€Three Nuts for Cinderellaโ€ .

  73. Amber

Tough question because I binge watch holiday movies once the temperature drops. The kick start is the Macy’s parade. Then, I watch White Christmas, It’s a Wonderful Life, Charlie Brown’s Christmas, A Christmas Story and Emmett Otter’s Jugband Christmas and many more!

  74. Nereida

Jingle all the Way, Christmas with the Kranks, cartoon Grinch, You’ve got Mail, and The Shop Around the Corner. it’s a Wonderful Life and The Forgotten Toys come in too.

  75. Linda

I love the really old movies from late 1930s. Christmas in Connecticut, white Christmas, etc. March of the Wooden Soldiers. Or ANY THING Cary Grant. for newer , Holiday with Kate Winslet. I could probably watch that every day. And of course the Hallmark channel a whole month of Christmas movies!

  76. Liseth

Nightmare before Christmas ๐ŸŽƒ ๐ŸŽ„ and A Christmas Story

  77. Christine Seiber

I watch Jingle All the Way, Elf, and Eight Crazy Nights (which is a Hanukkah movie, but it gets me in the holiday spirit).

My family’s tradition is to see a movie on Christmas Day, so I’m already quick to associate movies to the holidays.

  78. Lisa

I would have to say Nightmare before Christmas.

  79. Carol L

OMG! You to with Back to the Future. I went over to my sons house and he was watching it. I asked him why? Why again for the 2222 time! When it was on VHS they wore it out! And if I see Jurassic Park one more time I will feel like one of the main characters. I like any new Christmas movies, something fresh and that I don’t know whats coming up next. I will watch The Santa Claus if on, love that one. Nightmare Before Christmas is another one we wore out, but it’s so good. Have to sing along. LOL

  80. Neve

We always watch Elf, Home alone 1&2, and The Santa Claus 1-3, it’s not Christmas without them.

  81. Lola

Love detective stories in any time, miss Marple, Poirot, Colombo, I love them all and on holiday time sure

  82. Lynne

My favorites are The Holiday, Die Hard and the one I watched with my mom was The Sound Of Music.

  83. Samantha Cardimon

Definitely “The Lion in Winter,” starring Katharine Hepburn and Peter O’Toole. It’s the story of Henry II of England and his queen, Eleanor of Aquitaine. Set on Christmas Eve in 1183, it tells of the machinations of Henry, Eleanor, their children, and the king of France. It’s brilliantly written and acted and has the finest musical score I can think of (by the great John Barry). It’s my favorite film of all time, and we watch it every Christmas Eve.

  84. Suzy

    A Christmas Story

  85. Julie

    A Charlie Brown Christmas.

  86. Laura K

We love “Jingle All the Way” – it is such a hilarious movie! It focuses on the trials and tribulations that some parents will go through in order to find the “perfect” gift for their child. In the end, they realize that the child only wants to spend time with the parents. Sinbad and Schwarzenegger are awesome in the movie!

  87. Kim

Our Christmas Eve wouldn’t be complete without a watching of A Christmas Story. I also like to watch the old classic specials like Rudolph and A Charlie Brown Christmas too.

  88. Beth Kirksey

I’ve always loved Rudolph but in the last few years there is a simple Hallmark or Lifetime Movie out called Snow Bride. I guess it doesn’t hurt that I think the main character is a cutie but I love the movie. So when I have watched it I call it the Holidays!

  89. Sabine

In Germany at Christmas they often feature Grimm’s Fairy Tales. They have a historic look but the story line gets a slighty modern touch. I love it for Christmas!

  90. Thao

I would watch it’s a wonderful Life as well as the sounds of music..I love those..

  91. Pippa

Growing up we never really watched a lot of Christmas movies. I do remember loving to watch the old original Miracle On 34th Street but it wasn’t a family thing, I just would catch it on sometimes. I remember loving it but having watched it in years.

My favorite Christmas comedy is The Ref – I like dark humor. I also have to admit to watching Home Alone more then a few times – very funny movie. And I remember enjoying A Christmas Story and Elf at my cousin’s around Christmas.

My favorite Christmas movie – isn’t any one specific movie but more of a tradition that developed as an a adult. Every year that we go to my parent’s for Christmas, on the 26th or 27th, my Dad and I, sometimes other family members will join us but it’s really about giving my Dad a chance to see a movie that my Mom wouldn’t like on the big screen. For the past two years it’s been the Star Wars movie, I expect it will be again this year.

  92. eMily

Christmas doesn’t feel fulfilled without a viewing of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Home Alone, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, and Elf!

  93. MelissaMesquita

The movie(s) that I love, love, to watch during Christmas is Lord of the rings and the hobbit, is that movie that I never get tired of.

  94. Cynthia

Home Alone of course (only the first one, sequels dont count). And for some strange reason, Jumanji. Maybe because it has some happy Christmas scene in its last 5 mins or so.

  95. Leslie Anne

Oops! Victoria, please delete my original comment and this one. I was trying to re-comment for Beadmas Day #2, since I noticed my comment for that day’s post was still “awaiting moderation.” (I really like the dirty rubber duckie.) Thank you!

  96. Allymoose

In our house ornaments ONLY go on the tree when Elf is on…husbandโ€™s mandate ๐Ÿ˜œ Thatโ€™s really the only standard movie we have around the holidays, Christmas themed or otherwise. We do listen to Trans Siberian Orchestra music a lot, though only after Dec 1st.

  97. Elizabeth

Our new family favorite is Arthur Christmas! We all laugh every time we watch it. My 17 year old will even watch it with us! He just rolls his eyes at everything else. I do remember Sound of Music and Wizard of Oz being shown on TV before video and on demand. I just bought Little Women but in a House of guys I know I am watching it by myself.

  98. Beki

Iโ€™m a reader more than a movie person but every Christmas my husband watches Home Alone and White Christmas and I usually get interested because I can hear them and end up putting my book down and watching most of the movies with him.

  99. Natalie

    Christmas Vacation! <3

  100. Rosanne Lo

Jurassic park is my most favorite holiday movie with my two kids

  101. Wendy Monzon

I always enjoy watching “The Polar Express” on Christmas. I think this movie captures the spirit of Christmas. The way the children become believers makes Christmas seem so magical.
