Preview of Novobeads Valentine’s Day 2013 Collection

Breaking news from US based Novobeads as I’m able to offer an preview of the Novobeads Valentine’s Day 2013 collection!

January may indeed be a miserable month but we are getting the opportunity to see some stunning new releases. While the Trollbeads spring 2013 collection is set to be unveiled at the end of January, most brands are focusing on Valentine’s Day themed releases.

Novobeads have literally just launched this new collection online and it’s simply stunning!

For the benefit of newer readers or those unfamiliar with Novobeads, this range of beads is fully compatible with all major brands including Pandora, Trollbeads, Redbalifrog and Ohm Beads.

Novobeads Valentine’s Day 2013

This collection consists of a set of crystal birth stone charms, three stunning silver designs featuring genuine diamonds, two of their iconic faceted crystal beads in occasion appropriate colours, an adjustable silver bracelet and a mini series of new gift bracelets.

Novobeads Silver with Diamonds Beads

Three new silver beads make their debut featuring genuine diamond detailing. It’s quite unusual to stumble across silver beads with such a feature and personally, I adore the idea. This offers the opportunity to add something very special to your bracelet while avoiding the ridiculous prices commanded by gold.

First is the Novobeads Diamond Heart. This is a simple yet romantic charm with a tiny diamond nestled in the centre. It’s simple but boasts a classical quality that’s timeless and stunning. The diamond heart bead is set to retail at $90

Second is the Novobeads Diamond Star. Again this is a simple yet adorable design boasting the same splash of sparkle. The new diamond star bead has a recommended retail price of $56.

The third of the new diamond beads is the Novobeads Diamond Key. This features the classical dangling silver key design. The base of the key is appropriately heart shaped with the diamond located at the centre. The diamond key dangle charm has a retail price of $54.

Novoebeads Crystal Beads

The Novobeads crystal collection is simply exquisite and they’ve certainly generated quite the interest here at Endangered Trolls when they featured in a separate review. I promise an individual review of my own Novobeads mini CZ beads is pending but for now, two stunning additions make their debut for Valentine’s Day 2013. These are full size crystal beads as opposed to the miniature variety and boast beautiful romantic and whimsical hues for the holiday. Both these beads are set to retail at just $19.

The first of the two beads is a beautiful opulent purple colour. Perfect for those that prefer to avoid the more typical pink.

The second of the two beads is Rose Crystal – a stunning soft pink bead that I’m coveting instantly!

Novobeads Silver and Crystal Birthstone Beads

Novobeads are launching a complete range of twelve crystal birthstone beads. Their setting is simple but the actual stones are set around the entire circumference making them incredibly sparkly additions to a bracelet. The generous use of the crystals also offers a wonderful splash of colour to a bracelet. All the birthstone bands have a retail price of $30.

Novobeads Adjustable Silver Bracelet

Based on their exquisitely detailed silver chain (review pending again), comes a new adjustable silver charm bracelet. I have to say I think this is a very intuitive idea. It’s ideal for those gifting a bracelet so someone with little idea of the size required. A simple lobster clasp acts as the locking system and a small branded disc features at the end of the adjustable chain. The new bracelet is set to retail at $46.

Novobeads Gift Sets

While many collectors find the idea of a semi-completed bracelet to go against the concept of a modular charm system, I’ve always liked the idea. For people gifting a bracelet, these are ideal as they frequently offer a structured colour theme. Equally I can see the appeal for someone beginning a new collection.

The new Novobeads gift sets boast silver and leather options and a beautiful array of colours for the new season.

Novobeads Amethyst Glow

This gift set features the new adjustable silver bracelet, removing concerns over sizing. It features two of the new purple velvet crystals offering a stunning splash of colour. Amethyst glow retails at $99.

Novobeads Rose Hearts

This bracelet is ideal as a Valentine’s Day gift and boasts the new rose crystal beads. It’s a delicate colour theme ideal for the girly girls with it’s feminine tones. In addition it will make a stunning spring themed bracelet. Rose hearts retails at $135.

Novobeads Fire & Heather

For those preferring a more dramatic colour scheme comes the new fire & heather starter bracelet. This bracelet again features two of the iconic Novobeads crystals and retails at $79. Again this is a stunning colour palette for a Valentine’s Day gift.

Novobeads Turquoise Dreams

Turquoise dreams is perfect named as aside from the faceted turquoise bead is included the wonderful silver dreamcatcher (review pending). This bracelet is built upon a mocha coloured brown braided leather bracelet offering a more casual look for weekend chic. The bracelet has a recommended retail price of $119.

Novobeads Bronze Sugar

Novobeads Indigo Blossoms

This is perhaps my favourite of the new bracelets from Novobeads. It features the black braided bracelet making it super versatile and two of the stunning mini cz beads (which are just amazing!) It’s set to retail at $99.

Novobeads Pearl Blush

Lastly and perhaps my second favourite is the new pearl blush bracelet. As the name suggests this boasts a soft blush coloured braided leather bracelet and the arctic pebble bead takes centre stage. The bracelet retails at $119.

Novobeads Valentine’s Day Collection 2013

This concludes this preview of the new Novobeads Valentine’s Day 2013 collection and I think it’s a beautiful release. They’ve captured the appropriate colours of pinks and purples with their new crystal beads. It’s fantastic to see an adjustable bracelet as a gift option for those that struggle with sizing. While I admit I’d never personally order this option for myself, it’s a great idea. I have a real weakness for the Novobead locks however and I love exploiting this feature on my bracelet.

I think the idea of giving silver charms a hint of opulence by way of diamond features is great and it makes these beads just a little bit more special if you receive them as a Valentine’s gift. The new starter bracelets are all beautifully styled and offer both silver and leather options. While it’s still early to be thinking about spring, leather bracelets offer a much more comfortable and low key alternative as the weather changes and fabrics become lighter.

Lastly I’m keen to hear what people think about this latest release. I have several Novobeads products awaiting review but everything got delayed around Christmas. I promise I’ll try and get these published as soon as possible.

      Hi πŸ™‚

Thank you for taking the time to comment πŸ™‚ I agree, it’s beautiful! I’m really coveting those new crystal beads πŸ˜€

I am liking Novobeads a lot – and I particularly like the rose crystal. Not sure what is going on with me and pink, as I usually dislike it, but I am finding pink beads calling out to me… hmmmm! I blame those retired pink prisms πŸ˜‰

The adjustable bracelet concept is good, not only from a present perspective, but also taking in / out the bracelet depending on how many charms on it. However, I think I prefer the other style bracelet with the clasp system.

I will have to admire this brand from afar for the moment as I can’t justify starting to collect another brand when I am struggling to manage the wish list on the brands I already collect.

I would also like to see a UK, or at the least a European retailer coming on board. Whilst the prices are very reasonable, the import duties, plus VAT and Royal Mail’s handling charges can make purchases from the USA that start off as affordable become rather expensive.

    • endangeredtrolls

      Hi Debbie,

Firstly, I completely understand the “problem” with importing the American brands to Europe. It’s difficult to predict precisely what you will get charged and the whole thing can become quite the headache. I’m currently trying to step between brands and retailers and introduce various parties in the hopes of increasing the availability of these brands to European customers. I’m still waiting on the outcome of the Perlen-Ohm situation and I’m crossing my fingers it will be a positive conclusion for all of us. For Perlen it would give an alternative to Pandora (and a brand that are similar size and styling), for Ohm it will give a solid European retailer and for us collectors, a more predictable source of beads.

Once I know what’s happening there, I’ll try and do the same with Novobeads because I think the potential in Europe is enormous.

I really like this brand. I know I’m lagging behind on reviews but it’s not because I actually dislike the products – it’s because Christmas just dominated everything. The mini CZ beads are simply exquisite and I suspect the full size crystals would be the same. Indeed it’s the two crystals I’m coveting the most from the Novobeads Valentine’s Day release.

I agree that the adjustable bracelet is a genius idea but I love the locks from this brand (and I hope I can convey this when I get the damn review out) so if I was buying for me, I’d always opt for a lock.

I’ll definitely try and find a European retailer who could be interested in working with Novobeads and see if we can get this brand into Europe during 2013 also.

      Kind Regards
      Victoria

Great job on getting Ohm on Perlen!!!! The brand is really cute! I’m also really hoping for Novobeads to come to Europe! Any news on that?

Thank you Victoria for listening to what the collectors want!

        • endangeredtrolls

          Hi πŸ™‚

Novobeads is a difficult one πŸ™ They have a bad history with Trollbeads – the two were in court in fact – which has left many retailers hesitant to stock Trollbeads for fear of stirring up unpleasant feelings. Really it needs to be a retailer with no official affiliation with Trollbeads. Perhaps Bead Sensation since they’re not an authorised retailer.

Or Novobeads need to find themselves a distributor with the capabilities of launching their own European site!

          Kind Regards
          Victoria

  3. april

Novobeads were kind enough to send me a catalogue.I especially love the crystals/cz,natural beads & pearls.I think Perlen were asking about what brands to stock after the Pandora fiasco.Could someone suggest this brand to them?

    • endangeredtrolls

      Hi April πŸ™‚

Thank you for the comments πŸ™‚

The crystal and mini cz beads from Novobeads are just lovely. They sent me a sample bracelet just before Christmas featuring a set of mini CZs and they’re so lovely. I need to get the review up for them!

Perlen are in talks with Ohm Beads at the moment but I shall indeed mention Novobeads to them and see if any other retailers would be interested. Fetching both Ohm and Novobeads to Europe for 2013 would be amazing I think πŸ˜€

      Kind Regards

Novo does have some lovely beads, but I’m thinking that if I break away from trollbeads (with some other beads from Redbali/Etsy etc.) it will be for the “Story” line…those are calling to me thanks to you Victoria. Happy New Year !!

    • endangeredtrolls

Story are certainly far removed from Trollbeads so if you’re looking for something entirely different to wear, they are a very sound choice.

With Story you gain the bright coloured bracelet options in either leather or snakeskin. They’re thick strands of leather so very noticeable before you consider adding charms. There’s a review due of some of Story’s autumn winter 2012 collection which features a stunning pink bracelet – not a bright pink but almost a raspberry colour – absolutely fabulous for this miserable weather!

      Kind Regards
      Victoria

  5. Andrea

    Hiiiiiiii!!! πŸ˜€
Do you know if can I use the leaf clasp in a adjustable silver bracelet??? πŸ˜€

    Thanks in advance πŸ˜€

    • endangeredtrolls

      Hi,

The adjustable bracelet already has a lobster clasp fastening. You might be able to somehow use the Maple Leaf Clasp as well but it’s definitely not designed for this and I think it would look strange πŸ™ You’d need to attach the clasp to the main bracelet rings and then you’d have the two adjustable chains dangling free – which kind of defeats the point of the adjustable part of the bracelet anyway πŸ™‚

I think if you want to use the Maple Leaf Clasp – or indeed any other clasp – you need to order the standard silver bracelet πŸ™‚

      Kind Regards
      Victoria

Enticed by your reviews of the CZs I recently ordered my first ones (I had previously only bought Novo silver). Today I got delivery on the Cobalt and Crystal Clear beads.

They’re lovely and far heavier — as in substantial — than I ever anticipated. The Crystal Clear has incredible sparkle owing to the very generous number of facets. The Cobalt has color so saturated I’m sure it could pass for black in low light.

I also got my first Novo stone — the fluted citrine. It’s also lovely and I’m sure the carved shape will add interest to bracelets.

I haven’t played with them yet as I’m awaiting more deliveries. But I thank you for encouraging me to give the CZs a try. The quality is exceptional and so are the prices.
