Mystery City Bead and Ring Teasers at Great Lakes Boutique Spring Bead Break

This charm bracelet blog showcases the mystery City Bead teasers from Spring Bead Break at Great Lakes Boutique.

I'm still playing catch up post Spring Bead Break at Great Lakes Boutique but one topic readers have been repeatedly messaging about are the city beads that appeared on both my social media (follow me on Facebook and Instagram) and the Great Lakes Instagram page.

Aside from the amazing shopping and socialising opportunities, we were treated to a couple of teasers of upcoming releases. The city beads and ring teasers proved so popular but I'm not actually permitted to discuss the brand behind them just yet. Rest assured though, if you're eagerly awaiting these releases, you don't have too long to wait.

Spring Bead Break Teasers

These should be launching in the early summer season and of course when an official preview is available I'll share that as soon as possible.

Until then I'd love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the cityscape and ring designs? Do these appeal to you? Hit the comments and let me know!

Love both the city beads and the rings 😍😍😍
The landscape beads look really nice with barrel shaped glass beads. And the rings would go really well with some Ohm beads collections (Typo, Bee Ohm, etc) 😊

    • endangeredtrolls

They’re absolutely amazing in person and I had such a lot of fun playing with them I must admit 😉 I’m really looking forward to this release 😀 😀

      xoxo

  2. Dee

    I love architectural jewellery.

I’ve always coveted a piece by the amazing English jeweller Vicki Ambery Smith, and one of the City beads would be a lovely, more affordable, alternative.

Lots of inspiration in our UK cities – can’t tell from the pictures if there is a London bead, but the skylines of Oxford, Cambridge, Edinburgh etc would make great beads too 🙂

    • endangeredtrolls

Can’t really discuss which or what cities yet 😀 I will say the series is amazing though and a *lot* of fun to play with 😀 I spent ages messing with them before I reminded myself I was actually meant to be working 😉

      xoxo

  3. Agi

The city beads and the rings are really great. Thanks for showing the photos. Do also True Beads and Trollbeads glasses fit the city beads? I don’t think so. I love the idea of the city beads as I love the Trollbeads World Tour, there are so many interesting cities I would like to see as a bead, Edinburgh is a great idea, I could also imagine Oslo, Stockholm, Gothenburg or Copenhagen.

    • Agi

Sorry for my mistake. I wanted to write: True Beadz

  4. Gene

I loved the city beads the second I spotted them in the photos from Spring Break. I was wondering also if they would fit with True Beadz. I’m thinking with my City Lights possibly??? If not, no problem!

    • endangeredtrolls

I have no idea. I didn’t try and well, obviously I don’t have any of them with me 🙂 I suspect they will though. I don’t see why they wouldn’t at least! Do remember though that the Big City Lights series are now retired so if you need any, grab those soon <3 🙂

      xoxo

      • Gene

I have Tokyo Skyscapes. I would like Amsterdam Midnight and I need to get Moscow Lights ( since I know someone who lives there and I get a lot of packages from Moscow now!).

        • Julia

haha and that Moscow beads do come with Moscow sweets=))) <3

          • Gene

            Oh, yes they do Julia!!!

  5. Katie

I love these beads. I’ve been excited about them from the moment that I saw the pictures from the Spring Break party. I’m switching priorities already. There are several ‘must haves’. Including one that is a city that I traveled to with one (and only one) of my daughters for her competition. I will get her own of those to remind her of the all-to-rare mommy and only one daughter time….

    • endangeredtrolls

Naaaaaaaw. What a lovely thought! Beads always mean so much more when there’s some sentiment behind them or they were gifts or something like that. At least that’s what I find. My most treasured pieces mostly came from other people <3

      xoxo

  6. Elizabeth

These are wicked cool! I love the detail and the city map on the bottom is such a great touch. There are so many possible cityscapes to choose from, I wonder how many will actually be done. I am really looking forward to this release. Hoping you can share more soon!

    • Nadja

I thought the city map on the bottom was so cool, too! Okay, and I am just going to start guessing which cities we could see on the photos: there is London, Sydney, Rome (or Athens??) and New York. Anyone with other guesses?

      • Jackie Oz R

Seattle?? But I am guessing, I am not from the US

    • endangeredtrolls

As always I’ll share as soon as I’m permitted 😀 I actually avoided writing much text because I didn’t want to say anything I wasn’t meant to but I’m glad the maps on the base were noticed 😉 It’s a nice touch isn’t it? 😉

      xoxo

  7. Kim

The city beads are amazing. Those are definitely going on my must-have list. Kind of silly that you aren’t allowed to say whose they are, when showing whose glass fits them makes it pretty obvious. 😉

    • endangeredtrolls

      *Whistles* #nospoilers

      Who knows! 😀

I’m pleased you like them though 😀

      xoxo

  8. Kathy

Is NYC one of them? The former twin towers??? I am not sure how I feel about that.

    • Gene

You know;Kathy, I thought about that too. For so many years that was the skyline you saw coming in to New York. I want to remember the good things. So I am okay with it.

      • Kathy

I don’t know… bothers me. I think the Freedom Tower needs to be on the bead.

        • Nereida

Being a born and bred New Yorker, I’m really happy about the Twin Towers being on it. There will always be a hole in our hearts from that loss, and the Freedom Tower will never fill it or replace the Twin Towers. I’m happy for the homage to a part of all New Yorkers lives. They were the background to so many memories and milestones in our lives.

          • Marie

I guess we would need to agree to disagree on that. I saw enough that dreadful day in NY and it is strange to me to depict those towers standing.

          • Kathy

I agree with you Marie – redesign the NYC bead.

  9. Maddy

    Very cool!!!

    • endangeredtrolls

Aren’t they just? I’m really impatient waiting for these I must admit 😉

      xoxo

  10. Lorie

I’m so excited for these! I hope they will work with Trollbeads and TrueBeadz.

    • endangeredtrolls

      I haven’t tried I’m afraid but I don’t see why they wouldn’t 🙂

      xoxo

  11. Heather M

I remember catching sight of a ring that looked like bones…. hoping they’re dinosaur bones 😀 ! (Although a ring of regular bones would be cool too.)

  12. Julia

Ok. That is easy. I need them all. The sooner the better!

  13. Marie

Love 💕 the new city beads! Such a new, refreshing concept. Congratulation to the designer(s)!!!

  14. Polly

Wow, those are brilliant! I’m going to need London and Rome at least 🙂 But you won’t be surprised to hear that what really made me squeal was the bee ring 😀 I guess that will be some consolation for Beckie’s bee pendant failing to make it through the People’s Bead competition yet again!

  15. Deidre Castellano

As a born and bred NYer who saw the attacks on the Towers from the street, I understand both views on the addition of the towers on the bead. However, I’m not sure how I feel about it … I mean, would you include Pearl Harbor on a Hawaii bead? Ugh! I just don’t know if I want to think about 911 every time I look at the bead. As a kid I saw them being built, and later I worked right across the street at 130 Liberty, spending lots of time shopping and having lunch with trader friends there, so the Towers will always have a special meaning to me. But 911 changed me as well as most NYers, and I just don’t feel like they belong here. Just sharing my opinion on this. I wish they weren’t on the NY bead …

    • Kathy

I agree. The NYC bead needs to be redesigned.

  16. Joanne B

Any further news about these (i.e. release date)?

    • endangeredtrolls

      Nope!

  17. Joanne B

Re: the Twin Towers, I tend to agree with Deirdre. I worked at a Federal Building in Chicago and my husband was in Philadelphia on business on 9/11. I was afraid that the Liberty Bell would be targeted too. It was hours before we were able to contact each other and determine that we were both safe. It took him three days to get home. I kept a picture on my wall at work of one of the aftermath photos, to remind myself that although we all have adversity in life, things could be so much worse! This is a sensitive subject for many people, and any reminders can be quite upsetting.
