Limited Edition Trollbeads Lavender Diamond Preview

This Trollbeads blog brings a complete preview of the new Trollbeads Lavender Diamond Bead, exclusive to the German market.

There’s exciting news today for collectors in Germany as they appear to be the latest market to be treated to one of the limited edition diamond bead designs. The Trollbeads Lavender Diamond Bead continues the recent trend for the purples but this time with a blue overlay and again it’s super pretty.

Trollbeads Lavender Diamond

The Trollbeads Lavender Diamond appears to be a country-wide event bead. There’s no mention of any online availability so it seems likely to be reserved for those travelling to German events. As the name suggests this bead has a more definite hint of blue than the earlier Purple Diamond or Lilac Diamond (exclusive to Japan and Italy respectively.)

Trollbeads Lavender Diamond Summary

It’s interesting to watch the sudden emergence of these country specific beads which I had assumed was a concept the brand had dropped after the World Tour and City Beads releases. I can’t help but wonder if this is something that will continue (even after they exhaust the shades of purple) or whether it’s just a few sporadic treats for certain markets.

For those of you wanting this bead, Star Bijou are hosting just such an event on April the 28th and the Lavender Diamond will be available in store then.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the Trollbeads Lavender Bead? Have you sought out the Lilac Diamond and Purple Diamond counterparts? Hit the comments and let me know!

  1. Patty

Any idea about the price ?

    • endangeredtrolls

Same as all Diamond Beads πŸ™‚

  2. Katie

Ok. Now this is absolutely ridiculous. I’ve always wanted a diamond bead in purple. Now, Trollbeads finally starts making them – and there is absolutely no way that I can get them. I’m really disgusted at this point.

    • Alex

Haha I was going to basically say the exact same thing as you befor I read your comment. So a third purple bead and not one available to the entire USA ( or other regions that may not have gotten any of the 3) it is a bit ridiculous at this point.

    • endangeredtrolls

And the US get promotions that other regions would kill for. The grass will always be greener on the other side I’m afraid.

  3. Lola

I have shades of purple exhaustion already. πŸ™ I’ve seen the ultra violet color-of-the-year done spectacularly tho in a room mixed with olive green and poppy red. I hope if Troll does another purple bead this year, they mix it up. I didn’t get the Lilac Diamond. I wasn’t sold on the pics my cousins sent. I’m sure it won’t sell out tho, so I can change my mind.

    • endangeredtrolls

In fairness there was hardly any purple in their biggest release of the year – the spring collection. Nor was Mamma Mia purple πŸ™‚ It’s only been special stock and then Vine of Dreams that have gone that route so I don’t think we’re drowning in it πŸ˜‰

      • Lola

Oh no, not just with beads, or Trollbeads, but I’m overwhelmed with the color all over, on photo sites I help admin and moderate, design sites, art sites, etc. Some people aren’t mixing it up enough.

  4. Imi

Do you know where in Germany I can buy the bead apart from Star Bijou?

    • endangeredtrolls

As per the article it’s for German in-store events so you need to follow those πŸ™‚

  6. Olga

I’m not a fan of regional exclusives as a marketing tool, because it makes me feel negatively about the brand. I stopped looking at and buying Ohm because of selling practices, and I tune out Trollbeads country exclusives.

    • endangeredtrolls

I’m sorry to hear that. Fortunately there are plenty of beads available readily with no limited nor country specific status πŸ˜€

  7. Maryrose

I think it’s really pretty but as I’m in the UK I’ve no chance either. I might just have to console myself with an amethyst to match with my vine of dreams hee hee

    • endangeredtrolls

The amethysts look amazing with Vine of Dreams πŸ˜€

  8. Stardust

I’m dying! These are AMAZING! This is my favorite of the purples so far. And, in response to many who are unhappy, I am (once again) the odd-troll-out. I kind of love these exclusive releases. With anything else I’d be fit to be tied, but this brand has connected me to people on every continent over the last 14 or so years. I have troll-fairied for people, and they have done so for me. I’ve got beads from all over the place, and have sent them to still more. When they do releases in this way, it encourages community and entices people to work together. I keep in touch with many of the people I’ve met, and meet more all the time. A new friend who I met through our mutual love of Trollbeads contacted me after the Italy released and asked if I would like some help getting a bead – I hadn’t even thought about it, but here’s someone I’ve never met approaching me and offering to get some gorgeous beads into my hands. I had helped her in the past, and now she hoped to return the favor. It gives me warm fuzzies. I don’t see it as being a marketing ploy by the company at all. I suspect that they have seen the way these beads have catalyzed connection and enjoy it. Or I could be totally wrong. Who knows! But, if you’re looking to get your hands on these beads, reach out on a trollbeads message board or social media group. I have a feeling you’ll be able to procure them far more easily than you suspect.

    • endangeredtrolls

      I hear you.

Further to that for both the Purple and Lilac Diamond Beads, there were retailers on social media helping collectors too. They did ship them globally. They tried their best. This one is a touch different as it seems the German distributor wants them to be for instore events.. a little like the hematites last year. That ties retailers a bit more but as you said, there will be collectors helping each other out.

I see both sides to all of this. I grew up with the internet. I’m part of a generation that expects to pay at the click of a button and have it delivered. No boundaries. No country restrictions. I think the concept of trying to prevent that is archaic and actually, it’s Pandora that still astound me with this rather than Trollbeads. I still cannot comprehend that in 2018, Pandora prohibit their retailers from shipping outside of their market. So I understand many collectors just want to click and buy

I also understand the retailer or distributor perspective. For retailers hosting events, pouring a huge investment into them and that investment is always a gamble.. why shouldn’t they get an exclusive bead? For a distributor, why shouldn’t they be able too request a country-specific bead if they are willing to pay the cost. It’s a treat for their retailers. It gets the community buzzing and saying “oh my gosh did you see what Italy got?!”

The only reason I get somewhat frustrated is that people refuse to be happy for others. First Japan, then Italy and now Germany. Collectors in those regions got something special and is that really a terrible thing? Let them have something special <3 It doesn't kill those of us who can't get it. The USA has HUGE retailers. So no, right now there is no purple diamond for the USA. But they have Delaware and their amazing Amber Waters. They have GLB and our Violet Caterpillar. They have Trollbeads Gallery and whatever they get next. They get FAR more promotions than any other market. Their concept stores currently have the Rainbow Hematite. The USA is absolutely blessed! So is it truly awful that German collectors now have a treat?

There are beautiful production beads in purple. There's the lovely new Vine of Dreams in purple. I do understand the collector mentality of wanting them all. I do understand why people get frustrated that they can't click and buy what they choose but I also understand why distributors, retailers and even global award special beads for special things and I'm happy for those who can go and get them. So to the German ladies headed for Star Bijou next weekend, have a LOVELY time and I hope to see lots of Lavender Diamond Beads tagged on social media.

To each and every retailer planning those events with their special beads - it's scary - that investment is SCARY. Purchasing a bead and hoping people love it? I hope they're all a success because they deserve it for taking the risk in the first place.

So we’ll said, Victoria! Your comment about how we have come to expect to be able to buy whatever we want – that it is somehow a right – is spot on. But, even more important for everyone to keep in mind, is the very risky investment that the retailers make in order to even have such special events and the limited edition beads. THANKS as always for your wise perspective. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

      • Stardust

Agree with all of this, Victoria! Yes to everything.

      • Liseth

I absolutely did not feel blessed when I started collecting trollbeads. I drove countless of times to listed retailers and they were all closed or stopped carrying trollbeads. Eventually I gave in to online. After years of collecting I will agree that our promotions are indeed frequent and our online retailers lovely to purchase from. I’ve reached a point in my collection that I can admire country exclusives from afar and not feel left out. Congratulations Germany!

        Super post, Victoria.

I honestly don’t know why Americans ever complain–they ARE beyond blessed by ALL brands. They should try being Canadian. Lol. I miss out on quite a lot, or have to order from the US and hope it arrives. Then shipping fees are astronomical within Canada, from Troll retailers especially, 25.00 at some places, in my own province! It’s not fun, and it’s very expensive.

      • Jamie

YES, all very well said! I’ve had my struggles with certain beads. I guess you could say I came late to the party and am trying to catch up with my collection. It’s been around 4-5 years since I got my first bead. For me it’s not so much country exclusives as it is uniques or LEs. I managed to get some very saught after beads I never thought I could get, even better I got pairs 😊. But lately I’ve had no luck.. Everyone manages to beat me to it as I buy online. Due to this I’ve been in a funk with buying, haven’t gotten any in quite some time. Hopefully things will change and a flood of new and old styles will appear so I can grab up a few!

But to your detailed comment it absolutely makes sense. Yes it can be stressful and a huge bummer to not be included but what is the fun if everything is available to all? That makes some more valuable in more ways than one. Makes the hunt more fun, think about the joy when you finally get what your looking for! It’s up to the company and or the retailers how they choose to do their business whether we like it or not. But hopefully they will listen and or take our comments into consideration.
As for the US events and their beads we truly are blessed with the wonderful specials and exclusive event beads. I wish they could have these events over seas so others can enjoy them. Let’s see what the future holds πŸ€—

” Yes it can be stressful and a huge bummer to not be included but what is the fun if everything is available to all?”

Yes indeed, other people getting what they want somehow diminishes my love for a specific bead. NOT
This is where we differ: I want what I want. AND, I want YOU to have what YOU want. I want to see pictures of it when you get it. We can all be creating new stuff and sharing ideas. I don’t have to go all Gollum with the One Ring to enjoy stuff. I don’t understand this mindset from people who do have to.

  9. Kasia

I love this bead! After the Caterpillar of courseπŸ˜‰ I am always a bit sad at first when I find put about country exclusives but then when you somehow attain the bead it makes it that much more special. I agree with Stardust and Victoria. Nothing more to be said. πŸ™

  10. Lisa G

I bought 2 purple flower buds on eBay for a few bucks. They will look nice w the trollbeads event bead at GLB.πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰
Maybe there will be some Facebook sellers who will help out. I managed to get 2 of the purples from Italy which I like best of all the country exclusive purples.

my comment is not about the featured very beautiful Lavender Diamond
I want to comment on this year’s People’s Bead voting process
it is very frustrating that once again – just like last year, we have to vote for one of the two designs on each portion, as we cannot proceed without voting
Tr0llbeads has learned nothing about the uncomfortable and unfair process they employed in 2017
has anyone found a way to advance through the featured beads without having to vote on at least one?
would love to hear from them as well as from you, Victoria
    thank you

….I am becoming beyond bored with the idea of Trollbeads expecting us to fly to Germany, Japan et al to buy a bead, since they’re not allowed to be sold online. We’re often [seemingly] expected to take time off work and fly across the US to purchase beads….? Madness. Its almost as if they [TB] don’t care about making money. Look, its a digital world now and I’d venture to guess the vast majority of any bead brand is sold online. I would be fine with the bead only being available at the brick-and-mortar store, till after the event. After that TB is just denying themselves money.

I reject in its entireity the argument that my disgruntlement means that “I cannot allow other people to be happy.” That has NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. Its about carrots being dangled in front of my nose, that I can never have. For instance just this week TB posted a link to the Sakura bead on my FB feed. Oh good! Been wanting that one….would actually like to purchase two of them. I click on the link only to be told this is a Japanese brick-and-mortar only. Sure, TB. Let me get in touch with my travel agent this minute….! OR NOT. Perhaps TB can make their theme song MC Hammer’s “You Can’t Touch This.” /end devilsadvocate

I’m really late to the Trollbeads party after having recently (finally!) converted from Pandora and I’ve already got a few exclusives from Ebay. I’ve only been collecting for 6 weeks but I’ve done quite well so far and for me the joy of Ebay is a photo of the exact bead that I’m buying.

Having said all that, I do feel sorry for people that can’t get what they want. Let’s hope that the US get’s a purple shade of the Diamond Bead soon.

  14. Marie

These guys have 6 purple diamond beads in stock atm.

I must admit that I haven’t bought a Purple Diamond as it’s not what I’m after atm but I have been really happy with them as sellers. They have excellent feedback and the postage isn’t crazy either. If you are in the UK then many of the gold beads are less than the UK prices. My impression of them from the “shop front” is that they are a genuine stockist with a store in Italy who are on Ebay to increase sales.

    • Sorrel

Thanks for the link Marie! I managed to get one.

I have bought beads from Pesco-Clock before and their service was very good.
