Limited Edition Pandora Bear My Heart Review

This Pandora jewellery blog article offers an in depth review of the new limited edition Pandora Bear My Heart charm, part of the Mother’s Day 2013 collection.

The Pandora Mother’s Day 2013 collection features a stunning array of family themed charms. With family at the centre of many of our lives, there’s little wonder people choose to acknowledge and honour this on their Pandora charm bracelets.

Sunday the tenth represents Mothering Sunday in the UK. Over the weekend, I offered a showcase dedicated to the new Trollbeads Mother’s Day 2013 collection and throughout this week, I will be offering the same for the Pandora Mother’s Day 2013 release.

The highlight of the release in my eyes is the new limited edition Pandora Bear My Heart charm. This is a duo-tone charm boasting a cute teddy bear theme. It offers a little more versatility than much of this release, particularly for those collectors who aren’t a parent themselves.

As mentioned the Pandora Bear My Heart is a silver teddy bear charm with gold heart detailing on his it’s chest.

This isn’t the only teddy bear charm to be making it’s debut with the Pandora Mother’s Day 2013 collection. Indeed two other silver teddies have launched. The Pandora It’s a Girl and Pandora It’s a Boy charms feature delicate pastel enamel details making them a perfect representation of a new addition to the family (or indeed for expectant mothers.) The charms are identical in their core design and their sizing, with the differences lying in the details. The image below offers a comparison between the Pandora limited edition Bear My Heart and the new It’s a Boy charms.

The hallmark for the new Bear My Heart is subtly placed on the underneath rather than infringe on the charm’s design.

For the showcase bracelets I was keen to embrace a family theme with applicable silver charms. The initial bracelet boasts soft pink hues that are just perfect for Mother’s Day.

For the second bracelet I mixed in some pale blue glass beads making it ideal for those parents of both boys and girls.

Pandora Bear My Heart Ordering Details

At present, the limited edition Pandora Bear My Heart charm is only available in the UK market. This is solely due to the fact that the UK celebrate Mother’s Day far earlier than the rest of the world. The Pandora Bear My Heart charm and indeed the Mother’s Day collection in it’s entirety is available from John Greed and clicking on the links below will open the corresponding landing pages in a new window:-

Please note that due to Pandora’s own restrictions, UK retailers are not permitted to post outside of the UK. Also be aware that multiple items from the Pandora Mother’s Day collection are now sold out due to high demand.

This charm will be released in the USA and across much of mainland Europe on the fifteenth of April

Pandora Bear My Heart Summary

This little charm has created enormous confusion. With his limited edition status, collectors globally are desperate to acquire him yet he’s currently only available from UK retailers. To clarify, this is not a UK exclusive charm, rather he was released there first to coincide with their Mother’s Day celebrations. In regards to his limited edition status, the charm will only be available for a restricted period of time in each market. I’ve heard rumours that retailers were only able to place one order for this charm though I’ve yet to receive confirmation regarding this.

The charm itself is adorable. It’s a simple enough design but the splash of gold adds just a hint of opulence. I also feel it’s more versatile than the majority of the Pandora Mother’s Day 2013 collection. Obviously the release is highly themed with a target market in mind but for those of us that perhaps don’t quite fit into this, the new Pandora Bear My Heart will still make a welcome addition to many bracelets, themed or otherwise. For avid Pandora collectors, this will probably represent a “must have” due to it’s limited edition status.

As always I welcome comments from my readers. Does this charm appeal to you? Will you be buying it when it’s released in your market or indeed, have you already purchased it? Are you perhaps planning to gift it for Mother’s Day? Head to the comments and let me know your thoughts.

Thanks for posting, Can the trollbeads and ohms beads fit on the pandora bracelets.

    • endangeredtrolls

      Hi Traci :)

      Welcome to my blog :)

Ohm Beads do indeed fit Pandora chains but I’m afraid Trollbeads do not :( When I’m using multiple brands (like in these images) it’s generally a Trollbeads or Redbalifrog bracelet underneath as these are compatible with absolutely everything. Ohm Beads make a lovely compliment though as their sizing is very similar to the Pandora silver charms :)

      Isn’t he super cute? :D

      Kind Regards
      Victoria

Yes, he is. I’m starting my Goddaughters first bracelets but she likes the bigger beads and designs along with the silver. Her favorite color is turquoise and she likes to shop etc. She will be graduating from Lincoln University in May. So I have started but I needed more bigger beading such as pocketbooks, shoes etc. Would love any suggestions that you have. The bracelet that I have is the pandora bracelet.

        • endangeredtrolls

          Oh that’s a tough one :(

Redbalifrog have large cores that fit Pandora and they produce heavy silver beads (and also have a beautiful turquoise bead which you can see here – http://www.redbalifrog.com.au/product.php?Turquoise-Stone-177) but their style might not quite work for her. They don’t really have the shopping type of charms – rather more nature and fantasy inspired.

Lovelinks might offer you some inspiration though! Their spring release features a metropolitan line (http://et2.wpengine.com/lovelinks-spring-2013-metropolitan/) and they do fit Pandora bracelets :D They have a lot of pave charms, shopping inspired charms and some really contemporary design :D You can see my latest Lovelinks review here:- http://et2.wpengine.com/lovelinks-spring-2013-pink-leopard-murano-review/ and there’s lots more to come (I’m just a little behind on photography at the moment ;))

Lovelinks have a handbag and an “I Love Shopping” charm she might like too – http://et2.wpengine.com/lovelinks-spring-2013-preview-1/ ;)

If you go to this link – http://byaagaard.com/uk/brands/lovelinks and hit the “See the whole collection and download your own Lovelinks catalogue here (PDF)” you can browse their entire range – it’s enormous!

Moving back to Ohm Beads they have a lot of varied designs though size wise they’re close to Pandora. There’s a book charm here:- http://www.ohmbeads.com/beads/ahh001 and a couple of shoe charms here – http://www.ohmbeads.com/whp004sg and http://www.ohmbeads.com/whp008

What did she study? Any inspiration we could take from that?

Let me know what you think.

          Kind Regards
          Victoria

Criminal Law she is going back. She wants to be a lawyer. She has a twin brother. Her Birthday is November 9. So yes i have a hard one here. to work on. but she is easy to satisfy and is very grateful for anything that anyone does for her.

I’m gettng ready to print the catalogue, on the color copy here at my job. Sssshhh.

Smart young lady! You must be so proud of her! You could use birthstones though it seems hers are a yellow colour. If she likes turquoise shades these from Ohm Beads are lovely (http://www.ohmbeads.com/beads/amv00210) – very vibrant!

Lovelinks are really fabulous. I have a lot of them and wear them so often. Their new spring collection is set to launch any time and I think the metropolitan collection in that might appeal to her :D

What a lovely gesture you’re making. I bet she’s going to be so touched by it :) I’ve been gifted individual charms before but never an entire bracelet dedicated to me – I think it’s such an amazing gift and shows someone’s really taken the time to choose things that they feel represent you :)

            Kind Regards
            Victoria

  2. Jennifer Wr

This charm is one that I am waiting for! Although we have to wait until April here, I am looking forward to the pink heart box we are also supposed to have. Why? I have no idea, I just have a “thing” about boxes, and I have the red and white heart box that the US had in 2012, and the red heart box from this past Valentine’s day that was not released in the US. So the pink one would be nice for the collection. :)

Back to the charm itself, I really like him and I am so glad I waited to get a teddy bear charm. This will be my first charm that has any gold on it! I (Unless I get the castle before then!)

    • endangeredtrolls

I totally understand the appeal of boxes Jennifer, you aren’t weird at all ;) I generally don’t like gift with purchase style promotions as I know that I’m paying for the item somewhere along the line so I always feel like they’re misrepresented. That said, I still can’t resist boxes! Annoyingly we rarely have promotions here in Denmark so it tends to keep me in check ;)

I have zero gold charms and very few duo-tone so I can totally understand the excitement ;) It’s super cute – far nicer in the flesh than it is in my images. My Pandora pictures are never all that great :(

If you do get the castle I’ll be very jealous! There’s a few items from the Pandora spring collection I want and that’s one :D

      /hugs

  3. Debbie

The bear is cute, but I’m not going to add him to my collection (even though the words “limited edition” always make me want to buy it).

There are so many of the fairytale charms that are about to launch that I want that I am going to save my pennies for those. I absolutely want the castle…. and the book….. and the song bird in the cage… :-)

    /hugs

    • endangeredtrolls

Might be a little too cute for your tastes Debbie? ;) I completely understand your logic here though. I’m desperate for the book and the song bird primarily and since the latter is duo-tone that will take some budgeting :*(

Hopefully I’ll have the entire spring collection to review too :)

      /hugs

  4. Debbie

Yes you’re right Victoria – probably too cute for me ;-)

I like the Pandora animals (and I buy them) but they tend to sit in my charm box and not make it onto a bracelet very often. I think this bear is similar looks-wise to the Panda, which I have and like but hardly ever wear!

My wishlist is depressingly huge and there are so many things that I want that I can’t really justify buying him :-( especially as he will probably just sit in the charm box and keep the other animals company!

    /hugs
