Introducing The Palace of Amber

This charm bracelet blog welcomes The Palace of Amber as one of two new lines to debut at Great Lakes Boutique during fall.

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned that there would be two new bead lines debuting at Great Lakes Boutique for the fall season. Specifically both of these brands will launch during the Halloween Bead Bash on the Lake on September the 28th, 29th and 30th. An online launch will follow.

The first of these two new lines is The Palace of Amber and I know some of my readers are already familiar with their work. As the name suggests they specialise in amber and carved amber beads with a universal core, making them fully compatible with Pandora and Ohm Beads charm bracelets. That said they do also offer a limited range of beautiful gemstones and a few decorative silver pieces.

I’m a huge amber fan because much like gemstones, these truly offer the most amazing individuality. A lot of glass is created with at least an aim for uniformity. You find the most beautiful quirks and features in both amber and stones because they’re a natural material instead.

The Palace of Amber

As mentioned The Palace of Amber specialise in both smooth and carved amber beads. The smooth amber varies enormously from the much coveted marbled varieties through to egg yolks, alabasters and even matte blacks (though they aren’t pictured here.)

For the carved ambers there is a huge variation of designs and as always with amber size and colouring can vary massively. I often find myself working with customers just as much to find a specific colour as opposed to just the carved design. A personal favourite below is the huge rose. It’s rough green amber but with the most beautiful milky area.

The Palace of Amber Summary

Obviously prices vary enormously depending on the weight of the amber. That said prices begin at $67 and range up. Obviously we’ll be offering free global, tracked shipping on this brand just as our other lines.

I already know some of you are going to hate the wait for these bead being available online. Please appreciate this is an artisan so there isn’t an infinite supply of beads. We have been building an inventory for several months now but until the event we have to hold that for the in store launch.

There will be another surprise from this brand next week but I’m saving that as it’s very special.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on The Palace of Amber? Are you an amber fan in general? Hit the comments and let me know!

Please tell me you’ll be photographing these for the website Victoria! I’ve seen the brand somewhere else but poor images and I love amber!

    • endangeredtrolls

      Ummmm. Don’t know πŸ™ I’m sorry

  2. Dee

Some bug-loving bead collector is going to be very happy! More bugs please πŸ˜‰ but they’re all lovely

    • endangeredtrolls

Bugs are real love or loathe though! There’s nothing in between! Some collectors I work with are so repulsed by them and yet I think they’re absolutely amazing πŸ˜€

      • Pippa

        Love buggy amber!!!

  3. Marie

    Beautiful!

    • endangeredtrolls

Aren’t they though? I love amber so much. I find something so romantic about it. It’s taken all those millenia to form and then it has a whole history to each piece that is totally individual. Then an artist has trained to be able to carve this material so well and yeah.. something about amber is so lovely for me

      • Marie

Exactly! Although I love β€œrocks and minerals”, amber is more like an ancient living thing telling us a story of times gone by. Taking a moment to consider what it was, it’s a miracle the sap/amber ever survived a fraction of the time that it has. I love to see the amber’s story as well as the one the artist highlights it with.

        • endangeredtrolls

Yep! Exactly how I feel! πŸ˜€

    • endangeredtrolls

      They do amazing work πŸ™‚

  7. Lisa G

Wow! I’ll take the skull bead!

    • endangeredtrolls

Yeah the skull is very cool πŸ™‚

  8. Angie

You’re right, I am going to hate the wait for these beads to be available online. I do love amber!!

    • endangeredtrolls

Me too. It’s so very special in my eyes.

  9. Cindy

I’ve seen these beads on another site and they are terribly expensive! Many of them are near 200.00 $. Can you provide us with at least an average price these will be offered at? I realize you said the prices vary by weight, but please?

    • endangeredtrolls

Not really. We’ve chosen such a huge variation of sizes and we haven’t even sat down and weighed them all ourselves yet.

Good quality amber as a raw material is not cheap. That’s before someone goes to the trouble of carving it. Then coring it.

I think her prices are really good.

  10. Carol L.

I have beads from The Palace Of Amber and they are lovely. You won’t be disappointed getting any of them. I have a rose amber and a marbled smooth. My son in law has the dragon. They are beautiful works of art. I can’t wait to see what GLB will have. I got mine right from the artist.

    • endangeredtrolls

We’ve been stockpiling for months and months now πŸ˜€ I think even we keep forgetting what we have :p That aside yes, they do absolutely amazing work.

  11. Katie

I love Palace of Amber beads. I have the best bugs in their beads and they were very reasonably priced. I also have a great cat amber bead from them. I am keeping my fingers crossed about the bead that you are teasing. I saw a picture of one of their products and I haven’t found anyone who is actually selling it. But, I was amazing. It will be wonderful to see what is to come.

    • endangeredtrolls

Glad to hear that you like them so much πŸ™‚ And yes for amber they are very reasonably priced.

  12. Kim

You know how much I love amber, and I’m already familiar with Palace of Amber. So I’m thrilled that GLB will be carrying them. I’ve been waffling on whether to come down to Bead Bash (no offense, but I’m just not a Halloween fan), but NOW you have seriously tempted me! ;D

    • endangeredtrolls

Happy to hear that πŸ˜‰ And yes their ambers are amazing πŸ™‚

  13. Angela

Gorgeous, love all but the Snake beads. Just not a fan of Snakes and Dragons. This Bead Bash is going to be a really fabulous event.

    • endangeredtrolls

We hope so! πŸ˜€ It’s definitely our most ambitious to date πŸ˜€

  14. Bonnie Schulmeyer

Victoria you said they were compatible with Pandora and Ohm Beads charm. Are they compatible with Trollbeads bracelets too?

    • endangeredtrolls

Yes, anything compatible with Ohm or Pandora would automatically be compatible with Trollbeads since their bracelets are the more slender

  15. Pippa

    Very exciting!!!
Really looking forward to Bead Bash and this fabulous addition to GLB.
