Introducing Henhousebeads

This charm bracelet blog announces US based artisan Henhousebeads as the second new addition to Great Lakes Boutique for the fall 2018 season.

On Saturday we confirmed that amber and gemstone specialist The Palace of Amber would be debuting at Great Lakes Boutique for the fall 2018 season. The second new line is US based glass artisan Henhousebeads. Just like Palace of Amber, these beads will launch in store during the Halloween Bead Bash on the Lake on September the 28th, 29th and 30th. There will be an online launch sometime following, with dates to be confirmed.

Henhousebeads is a true cottage industry line. Beads are made in small batches as there just isn’t the production capabilities for huge numbers.

Henhousebeads

Henhousebeads create universally compatible fully cored and hallmarked glass. That is to say it’s a complete core with no end caps and is hallmarked as silver. Prices for standard glass will be $35 and the free global shipping offer will apply. Initially the focus has been on carefully selected, seasonally appropriate colours such as the spicy massala, smooth caramel, comforting vanilla and delicious cinnamon shades below.

Another aspect of fall is of course the change in the weather. From those perfect autumn days with clear blue skies and a crisp chill to threatening stormy skies.

Henhousebeads Summary

As mentioned once the event is over the line will launch via the website where customers will be able to shop from live images. With the stock received so far the consistent in terms of sizing has been very good.

For those who like to see close up images of the core, here’s a view of that.

Congratulations to GLB and Henhousebeads. These look gorgeous. Can’t wait to see them at the BB

    • endangeredtrolls

Yes everyone attending can see them first hand before they launch online! πŸ˜€ And there’s something a little special about being able to shop those early designs in person I think πŸ™‚

  2. Lynne

These beads are gorgeous! Did I miss the prices on them?

    • endangeredtrolls

Nope. I didn’t include the prices yet πŸ™‚

    • endangeredtrolls

      Pricing is now added πŸ™‚

  3. Frederique

They are very nice…. I love the Pumpkin , and all the blues even the purple … I am not a purple girl….
    Great job…

    • Liseth

You can leave the purple for me then πŸ˜‰, love them

      • endangeredtrolls

Unfortunately for you I think purple is generally a super popular colour πŸ˜‰ Though I suspect you know that anyway πŸ˜‰

    • endangeredtrolls

My tastes are quite seasonal I have to confess. Usually I like moodier colours like dark blues, greys and purples but right now I’m craving fall.

  4. Simone

Would be interesting to know the price and see them combined with other brands, so you know how big they are!

    • endangeredtrolls

They’re pretty much standard Trollbeads size and their own sizing has been very consistent πŸ™‚

    • endangeredtrolls

And prices are now added πŸ™‚

  5. Noemi

Omg, I love these beads!! I have some of the flowers from Henhouse beads which are my absolute favorites!!

    • endangeredtrolls

So pleased you like them πŸ˜€

  6. Angela

Like these a lot, been collecting beads for many years and now find myself getting tired of the flowery busy looking beads. For the last few years have been doing mostly all silver bangles ,cuffs and bracelets with few colored beads.
When I was living in N.Y had large gardens moved to Texas in 2015 since then different type of gardening and colors maybe that has influenced my bead selections but really appreciate the calmer look. This brand at this time is quiet fitting.

@Victoria think it was you but remembers few years back someone had mentioned that some of the Flowery stuff reminded them of old wallpaper.Lol wish I could have seen it that way then I would not have so very many of the wallpaper beads.

    • endangeredtrolls

Yup that was me. Grandma glass. There’s a lot of it out there. Some busy glass can be spectacular but I don’t think it’s always necessary. It feels at times like brands (and even artisans) compete to make the most technically difficult pieces when it’s not what everyone wants. Just my opinion of course πŸ™‚

  7. Paula

Many of these will look great with Pumpkin Caterpillar !!

    • endangeredtrolls

      That’s the idea πŸ™‚

  8. Francine

Would love to hear more about the artist who make these.

    • endangeredtrolls

You’ll find they have a page on Facebook with all that information πŸ™‚

  9. Liz

I’m so excited for Henhouse Beads and GLB! I have a few of her beads, and they are
so beautiful. Although I’m on a self-prescribed bead diet, I hope I can get Spicy Massala, or a Vanilla!

    • endangeredtrolls

We’ll be doing our best to get a speedy online launch πŸ™‚

  10. Brigitt J

These look beautifully made, and the colors are delicious! I like the ochre colored beads. The discrete hallmarking on the end caps is refreshing. I’ve always liked the bigger end caps for the flash of silver they add to a bracelet, but not the overt trademarks. Congratulations to Henhousebeads, and GLB for featuring these.

    • endangeredtrolls

I’m so pleased you like them and yes there are some very lovely colours here πŸ™‚

  11. AndreaU

I need at least one for that Chicken alone – most likely a blue.

  12. Lieke

Oooh can’t wait for those purples, they are absolutely lovely! And the chicken on the core is a hoot.

  13. Martha Olavarrieta

Are the designs on BB, such as Rio Grande, limited, or will there be more available later on?
