This Ohm Beads blog brings confirmation of a huge Ohm Beads retirement scheduled for 2018.
There has become somewhat of a tradition for an annual Ohm Beads retirement in November of each year. 2018 is set to be a little different however. Many of you on social media may have already seen the news from a couple of days ago. Ohm Beads have announced that in November 2018 “almost all” beads produced during 2017 or earlier will be retired.
Ohm Beads Retirement 2018
Obviously this is a massive cull, particularly when you consider that a decent number of their 2018 designs have also been limited editions. Standard collection beads so far this year have included the Pteranodon Skull, the plain silver Melting Heart, Sherlock Gnomes, No Evil Sheep, Trainwreck, Sunflowers, Wood Ent, Peach and the new rings.
Their announcement did state almost all pre-2018 designs so it will be interesting to see if this leaves behind actual beads and charms or if it purely accounts for bracelets, bangles and necklaces. Regardless it’s a scary prospect!
They have given plenty of notice which is good because wishlists could be potentially sizable. It could be worth starting to at least plan any must have designs and thus budget for them, remembering of course that new designs and possibly new limited edition designs will debut between now and November. That could require some financial planning and organisation.
As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the new of the Ohm Beads retirement 2018? Have you already identified some beads you need before then? Hit the comments and let me know!
